Net Neutrality = 16.1% Internet Tax

Late last year, President Obama called on the Federal Communications Commission to enact far-reaching regulations that would grant the federal government unprecedented control over the internet. The concept of “net neutrality” is based on Internet Service Providers (ISPs) treating all internet traffic “equally.” However, Obama has advocated for far more than is needed to achieve this concept by calling on the FCC to issue rules that reclassify broadband as a public utility under Title II of the Communications Act.

Reclassifying broadband as a utility not only threatens the internet as we know it, but will kill jobs, stifle investment and increase costs for American consumers. Moreover, the move could open the door to other forms of heavy-handed internet regulations and taxes. Given these serious economic implications, the FCC should put a hold on its late February vote on these rules and allow Congress to come up with a legislative solution.

Over the years the internet has grown rapidly largely due to the hands-off regulatory approach the government has taken. Yet instead of allowing the internet to remain in an atmosphere that has encouraged widespread growth, President Obama and FCC Chairman Tom Wheelers want to regulate the internet like telegraphs and telephones from the 1930’s. Not only are such archaic regulations inappropriate for our digital era, they will increase broadband costs for hardworking Americans.

By reclassifying broadband as a utility, the Obama administration will levy taxes on all broadband consumers and smartphone users via a Universal Service Fund fee. USF fees are already collected from traditional and cellular phones. Adding broadband to the same Title II category would slap consumers with a 16.1 percent tax increase on their internet bills–an estimated $24 billion for Uncle Sam. This adds up to almost $100 a year in additional costs for wireline broadband consumers and around $137 per smartphone for wireless customers –a deep financial burn that will certainly be felt by American families with more than one smartphone on their plan.

While reclassification undoubtedly spells bad news for consumers, the implications for industry workers could be even more dire. Title II reclassification would stifle investment –an $11.8 billion decrease –and directly impact jobs. According to an American Action Forum study, the drop in investment could kill as many as 174,000 broadband related jobs by 2019.

HR-5 DENIES PARENTS’ RIGHTS OVER THEIR OWN CHILDREN

The following information is critically important. It should go viral immediately. Send it to every parent and grandparent, school board member, state legislator, voter, friend… Post it on Facebook, websites, blogs, etc. Time is very short….

Citizens of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvanians Restoring Education, Pennsylvania Against Common Core, parents and students are asking Representative John Kline to stop the REAUTHORIZATION of ESEA, HR 5, the Student Success Act of 2015 which will amend No Child Left Behind.

• HR 5 denies parents their rights over their children. References page 488; 522-555.

• HR 5 legislation creates the radical transformation of tax collection through the assigned destruction and hostile takeover of our local neighborhood schools.

• HR 5 violates states’ rights under the United States Constitution.

• HR 5 is designed to destroy local, public neighborhood schools through usurpation of elected school boards’ authorities and responsibilities.

• HR 5 will destroy all private education in America, as well, legislating Title I “choice” vouchers that will “follow the child,” enforcing HR 5 compliance in EVERY PRIVATE AND RELIGIOUS SCHOOL.

• HR 5 would legislate services to these Title I “choice” children called DIRECT STUDENT SERVICES AS A VOUCHER that must be equitable and comparable to any public school, which is needed to satisfy Common Core.

• HR 5 will destroy representative government, all non-governmental schools, and standardize education across this nation. This overreach of the federal government is in direct violation of our United States Constitution which dictates separation of federal jurisdiction vs. State jurisdiction.

…. “The family is the primary society. It does not exist by sufferance of the state.” (Dr. Charles E. Rice, correspondence February 5, 1996)

….if you care about a free America, you must stop HR-5.

What IS The Bare Minimum…?

By Dennis Lee Wilson – The Libertarian Enterprise –

Do YOU trust ANY of the multiple governments (parrish, precinct, school district, city, county, state, national and international) that TAX you and claim to rule YOUR ONE AND ONLY life? Do you really think ANY of those governments employees give a damn about YOUR life, liberty or property—other than making some pretense to confiscate all three of them?

During the 20th Century, governments murdered over 200 MILLION of their own citizens. The institution of Government is the largest terrorist organization known to mankind. The irrationality of Government has ALWAYS led to collapse of the societies and cultures build around them or conquered by them. I have seen many governments collapse even during my own lifetime. There is a massive historical example from which to draw some lessons. It occurred when the Imperial Roman Empire collapsed.

When central governments collapse (and they ALL do collapse!), what is the nature of the agreements that people will make to provide for the security of themselves and their family?

So you see the culture collapsing around you and you have your food and ammo stockpile, your secure location with power, water, garden and livestock, your gold and silver coins and your trade-able skills, but do you have an explicit political arrangement with your friends, neighbors and like-minded associates?

Have you given consideration to the following question? It is a question that Anarchists and Agorists and libertarians DO NOT ask and one that Statists WILL NOT ask.

What *IS* the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM that Voluntary Groups of any size—two people or more—need to agree upon, in order to live together peacefully and productively?

Or perhaps the question should simply be..:

What *IS* The Bare Minimum…?

Know Jesus or No Jesus? The Coming Persecution of Christians

By Dave Hodges – DCClothesline.com –

There is a war going on against Christians. For a long time the war has been covert and centered around issues such as nativity scenes at Christmas. More recently, the satanic influence which is beginning to dominate American public lives is becoming demonstrably open and aggressive and this spirit has invaded the sports world where so many young people look for role models…

We are witnessing the persecution of Christians through the principle of incrementalism. Hitler did the same. First, there was the public chastising of the Jews. Then they were denied employment and the right to publicly practice their religion. The worst began to happen.

Today in the United States, the abolishment of Christianity is underway. Through the DHS sponsored Clergy Response Team and making churches into IRS controlled tax exempt foundations, the message from the pulpit is being controlled. Now we are witnessing the marginalizing of Christians and the removal Christian practices from all public venues. Christian traditions are being erased. A famous quote was offered which helps frame these current events of persecution against Christians “wherever they burn books, in the end, they will burn human beings”. I would offer a variation of this theme, “where they erase religion, they will soon do the same to the followers of that religion”.

Any first year law school student will tell you that the 10 Commandments are the basis for our legal code. This is all about to change as well.
