Here’s what people really search for most on Google

You’ve seen Google’s annual lists of trendy search terms, featuring things like “robin williams,” “world cup,” and “ebola,” but those show only the most unusually popular terms, not the most popular terms overall. In fact, the most popular searches are a lot more basic.

The clear winner around the world is “Facebook,” which is funny given that you could just as easily type facebook.com into a URL bar. “Google” and “Youtube” are also popular and likewise amusing.

Below you’ll find a list of the most popular terms in the U.S. in 2014 from Google Trends. Notably, “porn” came in fifth, higher than “weather.”

Here’s what people really search for on Google:

US Divorce Rate In Decline

We’ve all heard that 50 percent of marriages in the U.S. end in divorce.

And while that disheartening stat continues to get tossed around, the divorce rate isn’t really at 50 percent — and it isn’t rising either. In fact, a new piece in the New York Times’ data blog Upshot suggests that the divorce rate has actually been dropping for some time now. Looking at the numbers, the Times suggests the high divorce rate of the late 1970s and early 1980s may have just been a “historical anomaly,” rather than a trend.

Below, a few of the most interesting tidbits from the Times:
•About 70 percent of marriages that began in the 1990s reached their 15th anniversary….
•The feminist movement of the 1970s played a considerable role….
•The fact that people are marrying later in life, resulting in more mature marriages, has helped matters
•If numbers continue to go down, roughly two-thirds of marriages will never involve divorce….

Depression: 33% Of Americans Out Of Workforce

The number of Americans aged 16 and older not participating in the labor force hit 92,898,000 in February, tying December’s record, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Over the longer trend, the labor force participation rate was between 62.9 percent and 62.7 percent from April 2014 through February, and has been hovering around 62.9 percent or lower in 13 of the 17 months since October 2013, the BLS data revealed.

To put it another way, when President Obama took office in January 2009, there were 80,529,000 Americans who were not participating in the workforce, which means that 12,369,000 US citizens have left the workforce since then.

The number of Americans out of the workforce jumped by 354,000 last month.

The last time the labor participation rate dropped below 63 percent was 37 years ago, in March 1978 when it was 62.8 percent….

Your Brain On Porn: Rotting Your Mind On The Internet

3/6/2015 – For millions of men, the first time they watched porn was – is – part of the process of growing up. Part of the journey to sexual maturation, when you start finding out what turns you on…. all fairly innocent.

But nowadays the business of porn is far more serious – and dangerous. The extension of the internet into all aspects of our daily lives allows people to find porn whenever and wherever they like, and nothing, not even the most extreme or depraved material, is more than a few clicks away….

Yet there is now a burgeoning movement to rid humanity of this scourge. Sites such as NO PORN and the charmingly named NOFAP are encouraging people to kick the habit….

But is porn really that bad? Is this a genuine problem, or simply a corrective response to the tsunami of T&A which has engulfed the internet?

To find out, IBTimes UK spoke to Gary Wilson, the high priest of the anti-porn movement, a man whose scientific background has earned him a huge internet following. His site, Your Brain On Porn, is one of the most popular resources for those seeking to learn more about the dangers posed by modern erotica, and has persuaded an army of addicts to go cold turkey.

Studies have shown that one in 25 adults is affected by compulsive sexual behavior….

Internet porn statistics –

It has been estimated that up to 37% of the entire internet is devoted to porn – although the figures vary.

Over $3,000 is spent on pornography every second.

A new pornographic video is created in the United States every 39 minutes.

Annual porn industry revenue in China is almost $28 billion.

But why are sites like YBOP gaining so much traction now? Surely porn has been around since man learnt to draw – why is it such a menace to society all of a sudden?

“First of all it’s about videos, streaming videos,” Wilson says. “That means that pre-adolescents can watch three-minute clips of real people, of real sex, if you want to call it that.

“Streaming videos started in 2006. It needed high-speed internet. Porn also created tube sites, short clips on the internet depicting scenes of hardcore sex. Thanks to the internet, everyone now has access to streaming videos.”

‘It’s rewiring our brains’

According to Wilson, porn is so addictive because the core functions of the internet tap directly into our primitive brain. It’s all to do with dopamine, the neurotransmitter that regulates the brain’s reward and pleasure centers.

“The reward circuit gets activated for things such as sex, food, water, achievement, but it also gets activated for novelty,” Wilson tells me. “And that’s what the internet is – the ability to click from scene to scene. You get a big jump in dopamine and an activation of the reward circuit. The internet is so appealing, smartphones are so appealing, because they activate the reward circuit through novelty….

internet porn] is really training all of us that we are dissatisfied,” he says. “We can easily click on something new, then we can click on Tinder and start a new date.”

Wilson is reluctant to state categorically that porn leads to violence against women, because “the studies are conflicting”. However, he suggests hardcore erotica is encouraging men, particularly young men, to view their female partners as submissive toys who will enjoy extreme versions of intercourse.

….Yet perhaps the most prevalent problem is the mental damage wreaked by today’s high-speed, ultra-stimulating internet pornography, which can all-too-easily become an insidious crutch, like alcohol or class A drugs….

The expert believes the only option is to focus on the schools, before children become hooked, and stop tip-toeing around the issue of erotica.

“What’s missing in sex education?” Wilson asks. “The education about the reward circuit. About how the internet and the delivery system can impact on the porn circuit. How the adolescent brain is completely different from the adult brain, and how that’s completely different due to the internet.”

Wilson’s masterplan may work to an extent. Perhaps subsequent generations, raised in cyberspace from birth, will be more judicious. Perhaps the No Porn movement will go global, and sites such as PornHub will go out of business. But with researchers suggesting up to 40% of the internet is now devoted to pornographic material, the crusaders have a fierce fight on their hands.

Poll: Race relations deteriorate on Obama’s watch

3/6/2015 – A day ahead of President Obama’s trip to Selma to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, a new poll shows that nearly half of Americans believe race relations have worsened over the course of his presidency.

Thirty-nine percent believe relations between blacks and whites have worsened since Mr. Obama took office, while 15 percent say race relations have improved and 45 percent say they have stayed the same, according to the CNN/ORC poll. Forty-five percent of whites and 26 percent of blacks think they have worsened.

The survey of 1,027 American adults was conducted Feb. 12-15 — before a Department of Justice report released this week found systemic racial discrimination in the Ferguson, Missouri, Police Department. The Justice Department also announced that it would not bring federal civil rights charges against white police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of black 18-year-old Michael Brown last summer in a case that ignited widespread protests and renewed debates over relations between law enforcement and the African-American community, as well as police militarization in the country.

Mr. Obama said in a new radio interview that while he doesn’t think the situation in Ferguson is typical, it’s not isolated, either.

“I don’t think that is typical of what happens across the country but it’s not an isolated incident,” he said in an interview on Sirius XM’s “Urban View” with Joe Madison.

“I think there are circumstances in which trust between communities and law enforcement have broken down, and individuals or entire departments may not have the training or the accountability to make sure that they are protecting and serving all people and not just some,” he said….

Fifty-one percent of people in the CNN/ORC poll said they believe the Voting Rights Act remains necessary to make sure that blacks are allowed to vote, while 47 percent say it’s no longer needed. More than three-quarters of blacks say it is necessary, compared to 48 percent of whites who say so.

Fifty percent think the nation’s criminal justice system favors whites over blacks and 42 percent believe it treats both equally. Again, those numbers were split along racial lines: 76 percent of African-Americans say the system favors whites, compared to 42 percent of whites who think so.

Texas Town Sees 61% Drop in Crime After Kicking Out Cops

In 2012, Sharpstown, a community of 66,000 located just southwest of Houston, declined to renew its contract with the constable’s office, essentially dismissing its cops.

Instead, the Sharpstown Civic Association hired SEAL Security Solutions, a private firm, to patrol their streets.

“Since we’ve been in there, an independent crime study that they’ve had done [indicates] we’ve reduced the crime by 61% in just 20 months,” James Alexander, Director of Operations for SEAL, told guns.com

The private security firm places its officers on continuous patrol in their assigned neighborhoods, as opposed to the strategy of intermittent presence that the constable embraced….

SEAL also relies heavily on crime statistics when it designs its patrol efforts.

“The second thing that drastically reduces the crime is that we do directed patrols, meaning we don’t just put an officer out there and say ‘here, go patrol,’” he said. “We look at recent crime stats, and we work off of those crime stats. So if we have hotspots in those areas say for that month, we focus and concentrate our efforts around those hotspots.”

When asked to compare traditional law enforcement to the SEAL model, Alexander explained:

“Law enforcement officers are trained to be reactive. They’re out there to run calls, they’re running one call to another, so they’re reacting to something that’s already happened. Private security, the way that we train our guys, is more proactive, meaning that we’re in the community proactively patrolling to prevent those crimes.”

Not only has SEAL been more successful at preventing crime in Sharpstown than traditional law enforcement, they are cheaper. Sharpstown is saving $200,000 per year over their previous contract with the constable, and they get more patrol officers for less money, guns.com reported….

A Record 100 Million Americans Not Working

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) jobs report for December counted 74,000 jobs created last month. That was less than half the 200,000 new jobs expected.

Nevertheless, the BLS reported those 74,000 new jobs as reducing at least what it calls the U3 unemployment rate by three tenths of a percentage point, from 7.0% to 6.7%. That was because 347,000 workers fled the work force altogether last month, and so were no longer counted as unemployed.

Those 347,000 workers leaving the workforce altogether were almost 5 times (4.689) the 74,000 new jobs created. But the BLS, and the New York Times, still count that as headline unemployment plummeting on net to 6.7% from 7.0%. In fact, all of the decline in the U3 headline unemployment rate since President Obama entered office has been due to workers leaving the work force, and therefore no longer counted as unemployed, rather than to new jobs created.

Those 347,000 for December, 2013, however, are still out there not working, and suffering. Indeed, they joined a near record of more than 102 million Americans not working in December, all still out there and suffering without jobs. Those 102 million Americans are the human face of an employment-population ratio stuck at a pitiful 58.6%. In fact, more than 100 million Americans were not working in Obama’s workers’ paradise for all of 2013 and 2012….

How Does Your State Rank in Church Attendance?

A new Gallup poll offers some clues about Americans’ church attendance—and the sizeable difference depending on the state where you live.

Gallup asked 177,030 American adults, “How often do you attend church, synagogue or mosque—at least once a week, almost every week, about once a month, seldom or never?” It ranked all 50 states and the District of Columbia according to how many responded that they attend religious services “at least once a week.”

Residents of Utah are most likely to attend a religious service weekly. According to Gallup, Utah owes its No. 1 ranking to Mormons, who “have the highest religious service attendance of any major religious group in the U.S.”

Utah is followed by Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Residents of Vermont are least likely to attend church weekly, followed by New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Washington State. Gallup notes that the New England region reports the lowest levels of church attendance in the nation, with Connecticut and Rhode Island not far behind the rest of the region, at Nos. 10 and 17, respectively.

US Police Kill Over 70 Times Rate of Other First-World Nations

In case you’ve been under a rock lately, it is becoming quite clear that police in the US can and will kill people, even unarmed people, even on video, and do so with impunity.

The tallying methods, or rather lack thereof, used by both the FBI and individual police departments to count the amount of people killed by police, have been shown to be staggeringly inaccurate.

However, this inability of the government to count the number of people it kills, has been met with multiple alternative means of calculating just how deadly the state actually is.

One of these citizen run databases, is the website www.killedbypolice.com. The site is basically a spreadsheet that lists every person killed by cops in the years 2013 and 2014. In addition to naming those killed, it also provides a link to media reports for each of the killings, age, sex and race if available.

The tally for 2014? 1,100 people killed by those sworn to protect. That is an average of three people a day.

Do not mistake this as saying that those who were killed were innocent. However, when we look at violent crime in this country, we can see that it is at an all time low.

While violence among citizens has dropped, violence against citizens carried out by police has been rising sharply.

When we look at citizens killed by police over the last two years, deaths have increased 44 percent in this short time; 763 people were killing by police in 2013.

As a comparison, the total number of US troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, in 2014 was 58.

Fewer soldiers were killed in war than citizens back home in “the land of the free” in 2014, by a large margin.

So why is that?

Is this some natural tendency of police in “free societies” to kill their citizens more, in an effort to maintain this freedom? Hardly, and hardly is the US a free country.

According to the 2014 Legatum Prosperity Index released in November, in the measure of personal freedom, the United States has fallen from 9th place in 2010 to 21st worldwide—behind such countries as Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Other such rankings systems show the US as low as 46.

Let’s look at our immediate neighbors to the north, Canada. The total number of citizens killed by law enforcement officers in the year 2014, was 14; that is 78 times less people than the US.

….China, whose population is 4 and 1/2 times the size of the United States, recorded 12 killings by law enforcement officers in 2014.

Let that sink in. Law enforcement in the US killed 92 times more people than a country with nearly 1.4 billion people.

It doesn’t stop there.

From 2013-2014, German police killed absolutely no one….

Unfortunately when officers do speak out against their own department they are met with horrid backlash from their peers.

The Free Thought Project is contacted regularly by police officers who know the system they uphold is completely corrupt, but they find it nearly impossible to call out the corruption…

Racist Bloomberg: Young Black Men Should Not Own Guns

Anyone who has lived in New York City and seen the policies of former Mayor Michael Bloomberg can attest to the fact that the man is out of touch. Whether he is trying to tell people how much of a carbonated beverage they can drink, or promoting the racist “Stop and Frisk” policies of the New York City Police Department, Bloomberg consistently showed, during his tenure as mayor, that he lived in a world where only billionaires like himself mattered.

But now, during a lecture at the Aspen Institute on February 6th, the former mayor literally suggested banning African Americans and Latinos from owning guns… at least until they are much older than their Caucasian neighbors.

Michael Bloomberg is surrounded by private security guards who own and carry guns to protect him. They have been spotted illegally carrying weapons in Washington D.C. The mayor has refused to comment on why he is always surrounded by men with guns if he is so against gun ownership. But make no mistake, former mayor Bloomberg does not have a problem with guns, he has a problem with poor and so-called “minority” communities having the same access, at the same ages, to the firearms that affluent Caucasian communities do.

At first, Bloomberg suggested that young non-Caucasian males should be prevented from owning guns in general, as “an effort to reduce crime and to keep those minority males ‘alive,’” according to The Aspen Times.

Bloomberg even used the old mainstay of racists commenting on so-called minority communities, saying that having a gun is a joke to “these people.”

According to The Aspen Times, Bloomberg covered a number of topics, of which gun ownership was only one. They reported that as Bloomberg went on with his diatribe, he eased back, saying that minorities should only be banned from owning guns until their are 7 years older than their Caucasian neighbors….

Child Porn: Huge Child Sex Trafficking Ring in Arizona

Investigators say child-pornography victims are getting younger, and the abuse is becoming more violent.

In Arizona, we know of 15,000 IP addresses (the Internet Protocol labels assigned to each computer device) belonging to people who own computers, cellphones and other electronic devices trading and downloading child porn.

A significant number of these videos and images consist of infants and young children being raped, tortured and sexually abused. Some of even include “how to” instructions on how a grown man can rape a 3-year-old and groom him or her for years of abuse.

Every one of these pictures and videos is a crime scene. But the vast majority of these leads will never be investigated, and most of these victims will not be rescued.

While Arizona has tough sentencing laws for those who prey on children, there are only four full-time investigators in the state to proactively investigate this depravity, along with a handful of part-time investigators from various agencies.

A full-time investigator can only handle 25 to 30 cases a year. It’s extremely stressful for these investigators, seeing videos of kids being raped with the knowledge they are unable to get to a fraction of what’s really out there.

Fifty to 70 percent of perpetrators who download and trade child pornography are considered “hands on” offenders who actively molest and abuse children, according to data from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children task force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Sixty to 65 percent of the images intercepted in Arizona are of prepubescent children, and 9 percent of all victims are infants. Because of these very young ages, most victims cannot or do not report the abuse….

Gallup CEO: Full-Time Jobs Number Lowest It’s Ever Been

Gallup CEO and Chairman Jim Clifton doubled-down on his comments earlier in the week on the misleading Obama unemployment rate.

Obama says the unemployment rate is 5.6% which is very misleading.

Clifton went on America’s Newsroom today to explain the misleading government numbers. (Video included)

“The number of full-time jobs, and that’s what everybody wants, as a percent of the total population, is the lowest it’s ever been… The other thing that is very misleading about that number is the more people that drop out, the better the number gets. In the recession we lost 13 million jobs. Only 3 million have come back. You don’t see that in that number. “

The real Obama unemployment rate is above 10%

Justice Dept. : programs to cut down prison populations

With the nation’s prison population in decline — albeit slowly — the Justice Department is hoping they can continue the trend with an additional $217 million in funding to combat recidivism.

The nation’s law enforcement branch is asking for a total of $8.8 billion for the nation’s prison populations, with a $146 million increase from last year focused on preventing recidivism and helping inmates reenter society.

The agency hopes to “contain incarceration costs over the long term by facilitating inmates’ transition into society in order to reduce recidivism rates, increase public safety and strength communities,” a statement said.

Those efforts would include more vocational training for inmates, an increase in the number of staff focused on mental health, and efforts to support inmates reconnecting with their families before being released.

The department hopes the focus on stopping inmates from committing more crimes will help combat the overcrowding of the nation’s prison population. There are currently 210,000 inmates in the U.S., according to the federal Bureau of Prisons. The U.S. is considered to have the highest prison population in the world, roughly 25 percent of all inmates….

Rothschild’s $500 Trillion: Not On Forbes’ 500 List!

“Are you fighting for your servitude as if for your salvation? Then you have been well-deceived. You have been sheeple-compromised. Your thoughts are not your own. Your actions are not your own. You are in all ways a conditioned puppet who is under the delusion that it is free, and the psychopaths of the world are your uncompromising puppet masters.” –Gary ‘Z’ McGee, Waking Times

Every few months for the last couple of years, a new story pops up declaring the “official” wealth gap — the one most public sources will admit to — is getting wider and wider at a faster and faster rate.

This is the real economic crisis.

The wealth gap in America, for example, is insane these days.

Just 10 percent of Americans own 91 percent of the nation’s stocks and mutual funds, according to economist Edward Wolff (Table 7). Most of the remainder is held by a “middle class” that is steadily losing ground. The bottom 60 percent is almost entirely shut out (Table 2).

Stock owners, some of whom made billions of dollars last year, can defer their income taxes indefinitely, pay a reduced capital gains tax when they decide to cash in, or pass on the capital gains tax-free to their heirs…

$2 of every $5 owned today was created in the last five years, most of it from the financial markets, and almost all of it going to the richest 10 percent.

Unfathomably, the richest 1 percent took anywhere from 95 percent to 116 percent of the new income gains after the recession. Yes, 116 percent, because almost everyone else went backwards. Median wealth dropped about 40 percent from 2007 to 2013.

And it just keeps getting worse. Remember that big report that came out last year about how the 85 richest people in the world — only 85 people — own as much wealth as the bottom 3.5 BILLION poorest? This isn’t set up to let more people get in the club fake American Dream style either. Only people who are still asleep believe that.

No, the elite are closing ranks. The report about the 85 versus 3.5 billion came out in January 2014. It was quickly followed up by a new report just a couple months later that it was down to a mere 67 people… sixty-seven people… who own more than the bottom half of everybody in the whole entire world.

We’re No. 12! Report: U.S. Not Among Top Nations for Economic Freedom

The United States does not rank among the Top 10 countries in the world for economic freedom, according to the Heritage Foundation’s 2015 Index of Economic Freedom.

Instead, the U..S. ranked only 12th–after Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Estonia, Ireland, Mauritius, and Denmark.

Estonia was formerly a part of the Soviet Union.

The Index rates economic freedom for countries on 10 quantitative and qualitative factors that are based on four pillars of freedom: rule of law, limited government, regulatory efficiency and open markets.

“Each of the ten economic freedoms within these categories is graded on a scale of 0 to 100. A country’s overall score is derived by averaging these ten economic freedoms, with equal weight being given to each,” according to the Index.

While the United States’ ranking in the Index has remained unchanged over the year, its score has improved slightly.

“The United States’ economic freedom score is 76.2, making its economy the 12th freest in the 2015 Index,” states the report. “Its score is 0.7 point higher than last year, with modest gains in six of the 10 economic freedoms, including control of government spending, outweighing a slight decline in business freedom.”

“Although the precipitous downward spiral in U.S. economic freedom since 2008 has come to a halt in the 2015 Index, a 1.6-point decline in overall economic freedom over the past five years reflects broad-based deteriorations in key policy areas, particularly those related to upholding the rule of law and limited government,” states the report.

When President Obama took office in 2009, the United States ranked sixth for economic freedom. Now in 2015, the United States has fallen by six to 12th place….

27 Facts Show How Middle Class Has Fared Under Obama

During his State of the Union speech on Tuesday evening, Barack Obama is going to promise to make life better for middle class families. Of course he has also promised to do this during all of his other State of the Union addresses, but apparently he still believes that there are people out there that are buying what he is selling. Each January, he gets up there and tells us how the economy is “turning around” and to believe that much brighter days are right around the corner. And yet things just continue to get even worse for the middle class. The numbers that you are about to see will not be included in Obama’s State of the Union speech. They don’t fit the “narrative” that Obama is trying to sell to the American people. But all of these statistics are accurate. They paint a picture of a middle class that is dying. Yes, the decline of the U.S. middle class is a phenomenon that has been playing out for decades. But without a doubt, our troubles have accelerated during the Obama years. When it comes to economics, he is completely and utterly clueless, and the policies that he has implemented are eating away at the foundations of our economy like a cancer. The following are 27 facts that show how the middle class has fared under 6 years of Barack Obama…

#1 American families in the middle 20 percent of the income scale now earn less money than they did on the day when Barack Obama first entered the White House.

#2 American families in the middle 20 percent of the income scale have a lower net worth than they did on the day when Barack Obama first entered the White House.

#3 According to a Washington Post article published just a few days ago, more than 50 percent of the children in U.S. public schools now come from low income homes. This is the first time that this has happened in at least 50 years.

#4 According to a Census Bureau report that was recently released, 65 percent of all children in the United States are living in a home that receives some form of aid from the federal government.

#5 In 2008, the total number of business closures exceeded the total number of businesses being created for the first time ever, and that has continued to happen every single year since then.

Paris march draws over 1 in 20 of France

Estimates for Sunday’s Paris march attendance have soared higher, with some outlets reporting as many as 3 million people swarmed the heart of the French capital to support free speech.

The Associated Press reported that around France, up to 3.7 million people marched on Sunday — which could mean more than 1 in 20 French, 5.6 percent of the nation’s population, had taken a public stand.

What do those numbers mean in context?

Sunday’s march was enormously larger than some of America’s biggest protests — even more so when you account for the size of the country.

Given France’s population of 66 million, 1.5 million marchers could mean nearly 2.5 percent of the entire country’s population participated in the march — though plenty of foreigners converged on the French capital to rally as well.

Eurozone Consumer Prices Fall, Stoking Deflation Fears‏

Consumer prices fell in the eurozone for the first time since 2009, according to official data released on Wednesday, putting further pressure on the European Central Bank to act to prevent a downward price spiral that could further damage the fragile banking sector and undermine growth for years to come.

Consumer prices in the eurozone contracted by 0.2 percent in December compared with a year earlier, according to a preliminary report from Eurostat, the European Union’s statistics agency. Even before the recent collapse in oil prices, inflation in the region had been falling amid slack spending by consumers and businesses that makes it difficult for companies to raise prices.

A separate report from Eurostat showed that the eurozone jobless rate was unchanged at 11.5 percent in November. For the 28-nation European Union, the unemployment rate was 10 percent, down from 10.1 percent in October.

Obama issues ‘executive orders by another name’

President Obama has issued a form of executive action known as the presidential memorandum more often than any other president in history — using it to take unilateral action even as he has signed fewer executive orders.

When these two forms of directives are taken together, Obama is on track to take more high-level executive actions than any president since Harry Truman battled the “Do Nothing Congress” almost seven decades ago, according to a USA TODAY review of presidential documents.

Obama has issued executive orders to give federal employees the day after Christmas off, to impose economic sanctions and to determine how national secrets are classified. He’s used presidential memoranda to make policy on gun control, immigration and labor regulations. Tuesday, he used a memorandum to declare Bristol Bay, Alaska, off-limits to oil and gas exploration.

Like executive orders, presidential memoranda don’t require action by Congress. They have the same force of law as executive orders and often have consequences just as far-reaching. And some of the most significant actions of the Obama presidency have come not by executive order but by presidential memoranda.

Obama has made prolific use of memoranda despite his own claims that he’s used his executive power less than other presidents. “The truth is, even with all the actions I’ve taken this year, I’m issuing executive orders at the lowest rate in more than 100 years,” Obama said in a speech in Austin last July. “So it’s not clear how it is that Republicans didn’t seem to mind when President Bush took more executive actions than I did.”

Obama has issued 195 executive orders as of Tuesday. Published alongside them in the Federal Register are 198 presidential memoranda — all of which carry the same legal force as executive orders.

Victimless Crime Constitutes 86% of The Federal Prison Population

When we talk about the war on drugs, which is increasingly turning into a real war, we often overlook the fact that the “criminals” involved in the drug trade aren’t actually violating anyone’s rights. When a drug dealer is hauled before a judge, there is no victim standing behind the prosecutor claiming damages. Everyone participating in the drug trade does so voluntarily. However, there are a lot more crimes for which this is also true. Millions upon millions of Americans have been thrown into cages without a victim ever claiming damages. It is important to look at the burden this mass level of incarceration places upon our society.

In light of that, let us review some statistics which demonstrate just how destructive the mass incarceration of victimless criminals has become to our society. The 2011 federal prison population consisted of:
•Drugs 50.7%
•Public-order 35.0%,
•Violent 7.9%
•Property 5.8%
•Other .7%

Drug offenses are self-explanatory as being victimless, but so too are public-order offenses, which also fall under the victimless crimes category. Public order offenses include such things as immigration, weapons charges, public drunkenness, selling lemonade without a license, dancing in public, feeding the homeless without a permit etc..

The United States has the highest prison population rate in the world. Presently 756 per 100,000 of the national population is behind bars. This is in contrast to an average world per-capita prison population rate of 145 per 100,000 (158 per 100,000 if set against a world prison population of 10.65 million), based on 2008 U.N. population data. In other words, the U.S. incarcerates its citizens at a rate that is 5 times the world average.

In 2008, according to the Department of Justice, there were 7,308,200 persons in the US corrections system, of whom 4,270,917 were on probation, 828,169 were on parole, 785,556 were in jails, and 1,518,559 were in state and federal prisons. This means that the U.S. alone is responsible for holding roughly 15% of all the prisoners in the world.

Hundreds of killings by cops are not reported to FBI

Hundreds of police killings are not included in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s records on the matter, according to a new report.

More than 550 homicides by police officers between 2007 and 2012 were missing from the federal statistics or not attributed to the law enforcement agency involved, the Wall Street Journal reported.

This makes it nearly impossible to figure out how many people cops kill — justifiably or not — every year.

The analysis comes at a time of heightened pressure for transparency from authorities, especially after the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., in August.

To compile the report, the Journal looked at the internal figures of killings by police from 105 of the nation’s 110 largest police departments. Apparently, five declined its request for access.

The internal records show at least 1,800 deaths during the aforementioned timeframe. That is about 45 percent higher than the FBI’s tally of 1,242, according to the broadsheet.

Why don’t the FBI records contain these additional deaths?

Should You Believe What They Tell You, Or What You See?

Sometimes I wish I could just passively accept what my government monarchs and their mainstream media mouthpieces feed me on a daily basis. Why do I have to question everything I’m told?….

Sadly, I’m cursed with a mind that questions everything and trusts no one in authority or associated with the status quo. It’s the reason I don’t read newspapers or watch mainstream media television entertainment propaganda, disguised as news. It’s the reason I will never vote in a national election again. The lesser of two evils is still evil. I’m skeptical of every piece of data fed to the sheep by the government apparatchiks working for the state. The faux journalists being paid millions by one of the six corporations controlling the media and dependent upon the government, Wall Street bankers, and mega-corporations for their advertising revenues regurgitate whatever they are told by those pulling the purse strings. The mainstream media are nothing but propaganda peddlers for the Deep State and truth telling is prohibited in their world of deception, debt, and denial. Their job is to sustain, enhance, and further enrich the status quo by engineering consent through what they report and what they do not report. The true ruling powers who operate in the shadows behind the scenes are men of power, wealth, status and education who truly believe they are better equipped to consciously manage and manipulate the public mind to achieve their ends. They are disciples of the Edward Bernays School of deception, manipulation and propaganda.

The men pulling the strings behind the scenes are drunk with power and their hubris allows them to believe their own infallibility and blinds them to the dire consequences for our country when their debt Ponzi scheme fails. But, as we grow ever closer to the day of reckoning, they will use every means at their disposal to paint a positive picture, regardless of the facts and reality for the average person. The examples of twisting, distorting and outright lying about the economic reality of our times are endless. These are some of the major false storylines peddled by our benevolent corporate fascist leaders:

The BLS reported 321,000 jobs added in November and the unemployment rate at 5.8%. Jobs are plentiful, based upon these statistics.

A skeptical critical thinking individual might ask a few questions or point out a few inconvenient facts the government purveyors of propaganda might not want us to ponder:
•The non-manipulated, non-seasonally adjusted number of jobs in November FELL by 270,000. The BLS added 600,000 jobs as an adjustment to achieve the headline grabbing result.
•If the jobs market is so good, why is the labor participation rate at a 30 year low of 62.8%?
•Since 2007 the number of working age Americans has risen by 17 million, while the number of employed has risen by less than 1 million, but the unemployment rate is about the same.
•Why would almost 14 million working age Americans leave the labor force since 2007 if the economy is booming and jobs plentiful, with 1.2 million leaving in the last 12 months?
•Why would payroll tax receipts be flat with last year if millions of new jobs have been created?
•If the country has really added 8 million jobs since 2010, how could real median household income FALL by 2.3%?

According to the government reported figures, the economy hasn’t been this strong since 2007. GDP has supposedly grown at greater than 4% over the last two quarters.

Anyone who is sentient knows consumer spending accounts for 68% of GDP. Capital investments that lead to long term prosperity continue to decline as a percentage of GDP from 20% in 2000 to 16% today. We’ve chosen consumption and financialization over savings and investment. This fact leads to some observations:
•If GDP has actually grown by 20% since 2008 how does this correlate with a 6.9% decline in real median household income?
•GDP has been goosed by a $69 billion increase in government spending, with the majority going to the military industrial complex. ISIS has been a godsend for our GDP and arms dealer profits.
•GDP was increased retroactively by $500 billion last year based on a new way the government accounts for intangibles.
•The surge in consumer expenditures over the last two quarters has been in the purchase of services. The higher costs for Obamacare are a boon for GDP. Are they a boon for your bank account?
•The trade deficit has fallen as exports of petroleum products have temporarily provided a boost to GDP. The collapse in oil prices will reverse that trend rapidly.

According to the quasi-governmental mouthpieces at the Conference Board, consumer confidence is near a 5 year high, reflecting what should be robust spending.

So we are told by the representatives of corporatism that we are confident about the economy and the future. How does that measure up to the facts on the ground:
•Black Friday weekend sales collapsed by 11% versus the previous year. As the pundits tried to blame it on on-line sales (10% of total retail sales), Cyber Monday also proved to be a dud.
•If the average person is confident about the future and happy with their economic circumstances, why did they just vote to throw out the bums in November?
•If consumers are confident, why have real retail sales, excluding subprime debt goosed auto sales, been flat for the last three months and up only 1% in the last year?
•If consumers are so confident, why are credit card balances still $138 billion BELOW where they were in 2008? If all these new jobs are being created why is credit card debt lower than it was in mid-2010? Maybe consumers are so desperate they are using credit cards to pay utility and tax bills and not using them for frivolous Chinese crap at big box retailers.
•The increased spending at grocery stores and restaurants is driven by food inflation, not foot traffic. Discretionary spending at furniture, electronics, and sporting goods stores is flat.
•Department store sales continue to fall. Sears and JC Penney teeter on the verge of bankruptcy. Delia’s is liquidating and Radio Shack isn’t far behind. The major chains have completely stopped building new stores. The great bricks and mortar unwind relentlessly plods forward. In addition, online growth is stalling as states implement sales taxes.

Black Self-Sabotage

If we put ourselves into the shoes of racists who seek to sabotage black upward mobility, we couldn’t develop a more effective agenda than that followed by civil rights organizations, black politicians, academics, liberals and the news media. Let’s look at it.

First, weaken the black family, but don’t blame it on individual choices. You have to preach that today’s weak black family is a legacy of slavery, Jim Crow and racism. The truth is that black female-headed households were just 18 percent of households in 1950, as opposed to about 68 percent today. In fact, from 1890 to 1940, the black marriage rate was slightly higher than that of whites. Even during slavery, when marriage was forbidden for blacks, most black children lived in biological two-parent families. In New York City, in 1925, 85 percent of black households were two-parent households. A study of 1880 family structure in Philadelphia shows that three-quarters of black families were two-parent households.

During the 1960s, devastating nonsense emerged, exemplified by a Johns Hopkins University sociology professor who argued, “It has yet to be shown that the absence of a father was directly responsible for any of the supposed deficiencies of broken homes.” The real issue, he went on to say, “is not the lack of male presence but the lack of male income.” That suggests marriage and fatherhood can be replaced by a welfare check….

True Population of the Sodomites & their Health Risks

The state-controlled media would have you believe there are more of these people than there are. According to a survey released this year by the National Health Interview Survey, an arm of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the sodomite community in America is far less than what we have been told in the media. Not only that, but they are at severe health risks as many of us have pointed out. Not surprisingly, sodomite leaders are not happy with this survey.

The survey titled Sexual Orientation and Health Among US Adults claims, “Based on the 2013 NHIS data, 96.6% of adults identified as straight, 1.6% identified as gay or lesbian, and 0.7% identified as bisexual. The remaining 1.1% of adults identified as “something else,” stated “I don’t know the answer,” or refused to provide an answer.”

This study has been applauded by government health officials due to the large population that was studied. In 2013, 33,557 adults between between 18-64 were questioned via telephone or sexual choices and various other things pertaining to their health such as tobacco use, medical care and vaccinations.

Here are some of the more telling results of the survey when comparing sodomites to normal people that engage in natural sexual intercourse.
26% of sodomites were current cigarette smokers compared to 18% of heterosexuals
33% of sodomites consumed five or more alcoholic drinks in 1 day in the past year compared to only 22% of heterosexuals
56% of sodomites met federal guidelines for aerobic physical activity compared to 49% of heterosexuals
67% of sodomites were tested for HIV compared to only 37% of heterosexuals
46% of sodomites received influenza vaccines during the past year compared to 41%

Additionally heterosexual women were more likely to consider themselves in either excellent or very good health compared to those that claimed they were lesbian.

However, the very small percentage that claimed to be bisexual were more prone to experience psychological distress than heterosexuals.

“This is a major step forward in trying to remedy some of these gaps in our understanding of the role sexual orientation and gender identity play in people’s health and in their lives,” said Gary J. Gates, a demographer at the Williams Institute, a research center at the University of California at Los Angeles that studies the sodomite community.

FBI Report: Americans Less Violent, Except Police

While violence among citizens has dropped, violence against citizens carried out by police has been rising sharply.

According to new FBI statistics released this week, violent crime rates in the US fell over 4% in the past year alone, bringing the amount of violent crimes lower than it has been in nearly 40 years. The statistics showed that there were an estimated 1.16 million violent crimes in the year of 2013, which is the lowest number since 1978, when 1.09 million were recorded.

Broken down, the report revealed that manslaughter dropped by 4.4% to 14,196, the lowest rate since 1968, while instances of rape were down 6.3%. Despite the tough economic times, robbery is also down by 2.8% and property crimes were down by 4.1%.

The violent crime rate has been steadily declining since 1994, but the prison population has continued to increase over the decades. There are currently over two and a half million people imprisoned in the US, which is by far the largest prison population in the world.

However, a study recently published by Pew Charitable Trusts showed that for the first time in decades, the US prison population is actually on a decline. Their research found that the drop in crime that was seen in 2013 actually coincided with a decline in the prison population. According to their data, the amount of people in the US prison system peaked in 2008, and has since dropped 6%….

According to the FBI’s annual Uniform Crime Report, 461 felony suspects were shot by police last year, which is the highest number seen in decades. These numbers are likely unreported as well, and only includes felony suspects, so it is possible that this figure is much higher than the study suggests.

Another interesting angle is that in the same time period gun sales soared across the country, which seems to support the idea that more people owning guns actually contributes to making society a safer place….

OUR CHILDREN ARE RED, WHITE AND SCREWED

By Dave Hodges – The Common Sense Show –

….There was a time that a child could produce a mediocre track record in high school, not go to college, but were able to work in a factory or a department store and climb the ranks and subsequently live a life of wonderful opportunities.

With 86% of our 1968 based manufacturing gone to overseas markets, those days of second chance opportunities are gone forever.

When the Blinders Come Off

My soon-to-14 year old son is showing signs of asking questions befitting an adult perspective of our present political and economic situation. I am not bashful about identifying the misdeeds of our government when I am writing or broadcasting. Also, I know that I have the intellectual capacity to explain to my son how bad things have become in terms he can understand. However, I have found that I am lacking the skill and knowledge to explain to my son just how bad things are without taking away his hope for the future.

I am running out of time to begin to formulate a dialogue with my son as I know that I will have to say something and say it very soon. Just the other day, my son made fun of Obama and his nation of birth, Kenya. As my readers and listeners will tell you, I don’t pursue the “birther issue” a s a point of emphasis in my advocacy. Yet, my son is keenly aware of this issue. Last night as we were driving home from play that we attended, my son offhandedly said “the rich control Obama and he controls us like a dictator”. In other words, he is getting his education about the New World Order from sources from “OTP” (i.e. other than parents). I asked him where he got that information and he said “some of the kids at school say Obama is a member of Illuminati and it is all over Youtube”. Life was so much easier when I controlled most of his access to information. I knew that this day would come, but I am finding that I am not prepared with ready made answers about how the world really works. Most adults don’t know how the world works….

Figures may lie and liars may figure, however, there are some numbers that cannot be ignored and they serve to underscore the increasing sense of hopelessness that is creeping across the country.

During 2011, 53 percent of all Americans with a bachelor’s degree under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed.

At this point about half of all recent college graduates are working jobs that do not even require a college degree.

The number of Americans in the 16 to 29 year old age bracket with a job declined by 18 percent between 2000 and 2010.

Incomes for U.S. households led by someone between the ages of 25 and 34 have fallen by about 12 percent after you adjust for inflation since the year 2000.

In 1984, the median net worth of households led by someone 65 or older was 10 times larger than the median net worth of households led by someone 35 or younger. Today, the median net worth of households led by someone 65 or older is 47 times larger than the median net worth of households led by someone 35 or younger.

In 2011, SAT scores for young men were the worst that they had been in 40 years….

U.S. immigration has reached record high

By Susan Ferrechio – Washington Examiner –

The U.S. immigrant population has reached a record 41.3 million, according to new U.S. Census Bureau data crunched by a group that advocates for a low immigration rate.

The Center for Immigration Studies said in a report released early Thursday that 2013 census data indicate one in six adults in America is either a legal or illegal immigrant.

The data was taken from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. It found that 3.3 million new immigrants arrived in the United States between 2010 and 2013, a number offset by nearly 2 million deaths or cases of immigrants leaving the country.

According to CIS, the census data show that more than 13 percent of the population is now made up of immigrants, the highest percentage in 93 years.

The data also showed that Mexicans are the largest immigrant population, with 11.6 million living in America both legally and illegally. The number of Mexican immigrants, however, has declined by more than 126,000, or 1 percent.

Immigrants from South Asia, East Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East and sub-Sahara Africa showed the largest increases from 2010 to 2013.

India, for example, is the home country of 254,000 immigrants who came to the United States, a 14 percent increase. Immigrants from China increased by 217,000 or 10 percent. Guatemalan immigrants increased by 71,000 or 9 percent.

FBI Says No One Killed At Sandy Hook

By Adan Salazar – InfoWars.com –

Recently released FBI crime statistics curiously appear to show that no murders occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012, despite reports that numerous schoolchildren and faculty members were slaughtered during a shooting rampage in December of that year.

On December 14, 2012, the world watched in horror as the corporate media reported the deaths of 20 students and 6 staff members at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown at the hands of a deranged 20-year-old.

Internet sleuths immediately took to the web to stitch together clues indicating the shooting could be a carefully-scripted false flag event, similar to the 9/11 terror attacks, the central tenet being that the event would be used to galvanize future support for gun control legislation. Two years later, and scores of politicians and gun control groups have cited the Sandy Hook incident as a pretext to curtail Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

While those who question the official Sandy Hook story have largely been marginalized, the FBI’s own data is now seemingly substantiating their theories.
