Availability Of Truth Just About Over For Alternative Internet

While many will tell you the day is rapidly approaching where the truth will no longer be available to the masses because the mainstream media is nothing more than an arm for US government propaganda and some Alternative News sites are being created with the sole goal to provide disinfo in order to discredit Alternative Media as a whole, while those trying to share the truth are being targeted, attacked and gagged, I submit and will show you below, that day is already here.

The links below are not to some Alternative News site, nor are they opinion, they are to sources that are considered “factual” by Google’s news algorithm, so please click them, read them, understand them before continuing on to see how the government, with the help of Google and social media platforms are putting in place a system which will make the availability of the truth a thing of the past.

KILLING THE TRUTH ON THE INTERNET

Since I mentioned Google’s new algorithm, we will start with that, explained at the Cornell University Library, titled “Knowledge-Based Trust: Estimating the Trustworthiness of Web Sources.” The authors are Xin Luna Dong, Evgeniy Gabrilovich, Kevin Murphy, Van Dang, Wilko Horn, Camillo Lugaresi, Shaohua Sun, and Wei Zhang.

The quality of web sources has been traditionally evaluated using exogenous signals such as the hyperlink structure of the graph. We propose a new approach that relies on endogenous signals, namely, the correctness of factual information provided by the source. A source that has few false facts is considered to be trustworthy. The facts are automatically extracted from each source by information extraction methods commonly used to construct knowledge bases. We propose a way to distinguish errors made in the extraction process from factual errors in the web source per se, by using joint inference in a novel multi-layer probabilistic model. We call the trustworthiness score we computed Knowledge-Based Trust (KBT). On synthetic data, we show that our method can reliably compute the true trustworthiness levels of the sources. We then apply it to a database of 2.8B facts extracted from the web, and thereby estimate the trustworthiness of 119M webpages. Manual evaluation of a subset of the results confirms the effectiveness of the method.

Sounds good on paper, but in reality there are many instances where had this alorithm been applied, the truth would never have been revealed. One high profile example off the top of my head out of the dozens and dozens out there, would be the IRS scandal where they targeted Tea Party Groups and Patriots, which was considered a “conspiracy theory” for years until Washington Post reported that an IRS employee, Lois Lerner publicly admitted it and apologized for said targeting.

Then we have the chemical weapons attack in Syria which the Obama administration blamed the Syrian leadership but Alternative Media, using video footage from the Obama backed Syrian rebels themselves, proved to the public that there was a legitimate question as to who was responsible. Alternative Media hammered those videos, the rebels admitting they conducted the attacks, relentlessly and people awakened, rose up, refused to allow Obama and congress to take military action against Syria based on lies.

According to Google’s new algorithm, sites that had reported the IRS targeting would have received less traffic because the targeting wasn’t in their “knowledge base,” therefore it wasn’t the “truth” according to Google.

We starting to see the danger of an organization deciding what is true and what isn’t?????

SOCIAL MEDIA –

Then we have social media sites like Facebook and their “new” rules and options which would allow any group of people to concentrate an attack on any article, declaring it untrue or a “hoax,” therefore being “hidden.”

For that we will go to Reuters, who headlines with “Facebook clamps down on fake news stories.”

Facebook Inc said on Tuesday it has taken steps to clamp down on “hoaxes” and fake news stories that can spread like wildfire on its 1.35-billion member online social network.

The company said it had introduced an option to allow Facebook users to flag a story as “purposefully fake or deceitful news” to reduce the distribution of news stories reported as hoaxes….

Patent law reform to stop trolls could stifle innovation

House Republicans on Thursday restarted their campaign to reform U.S. patent laws, a bipartisan effort backed by heavyweights such as Google and Facebook that also has awakened protest from some conservatives who are fearful it will trample inventors’ protections.

Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Virginia Republican and House Judiciary Committee chairman, reintroduced the Innovation Act, which passed in the House last session by a vote of 325-91 but was killed in the Senate.

Supporters say the bill will update intellectual property laws to rein in “patent trolls,” mostly shell companies that buy up vague patents with the intent of suing other companies for infringement.

“In recent years, we have seen an exponential increase in the use of weak or poorly granted patents by patent trolls to file numerous patent infringement lawsuits against American businesses with the hope of securing a quick payday,” Mr. Goodlatte said. “With our current patent laws being abused, American businesses small and large are being forced to spend valuable resources on litigation rather than on innovating and growing their businesses.”

Opponents of the legislation unveiled their high-profile pitchwoman, former Hewlett-Packard CEO and potential presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, who argued that the bill imposes overreaching standards on patent litigation that would make it hard for innovators to protect their property rights….

Facebook tracks you even when you are not on Facebook

Facebook is making users sign up for new privacy policy that allows it to track users everywhere on the Internet

This is really bad news for privacy lovers , he has just updated its privacy policy which allows to track you even after you have left Facebook website to surf other pages. And more over you have already agreed to it without knowing it.

Facebooks new policy allows it to gather data about you, from across the internet. This is in addition to the normal data it generally gathers when you post something or add friends to your network. The new privacy policy has such provisions that, Facebook now pass this information with its subsidiaries like WhatsApp and Instagram.Readers may not that Facebook had already announced the new privacy policy last November but it is being implemented from Friday. You may be surprised as to why Facebook did not notify you, but it so happens that you are deemed to have agreed to the new policy once you log into Facebook.Facebook management says that the new policy will help it tabulate data which can be used to serve precision adverts to the users and avoid serving unwanted information to them.

The saving grace is that you can opt out for some parts of the new policy by customising privacy settings. You can visit Facebook website settings page here and opt out of advertising that is shown on third party sites or is selected by comparing you with your friends.

If you want to opt out of Facebook tracking your use when you are not on Facebook, you can opt out by visiting individual pages listed in the privacy settings page for respective countries.

GOVERNMENT ARRESTING PEOPLE FOR ANTI-OBAMA FACEBOOK POSTS!

In the four years since the start of Operation Vigilant Eagle, the government has steadily ramped up its campaign to “silence” dissidents, especially those with military backgrounds. Coupled with the DHS’ dual reports on Rightwing and Leftwing “Extremism,” which broadly define extremists as individuals and groups “that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely,” these tactics have boded ill for anyone seen as opposing the government.

One particularly troubling mental health label being applied to veterans and others who challenge the status quo is “oppositional defiance disorder” (ODD). As journalist Anthony Martin explains, an ODD diagnosis “denotes that the person exhibits ‘symptoms’ such as the questioning of authority, the refusal to follow directions, stubbornness, the unwillingness to go along with the crowd, and the practice of disobeying or ignoring orders. Persons may also receive such a label if they are considered free thinkers, nonconformists, or individuals who are suspicious of large, centralized government… At one time the accepted protocol among mental health professionals was to reserve the diagnosis of oppositional defiance disorder for children or adolescents who exhibited uncontrollable defiance toward their parents and teachers.”

The case of 26-year-old decorated Marine Brandon Raub—who was targeted because of his Facebook posts, interrogated by government agents about his views on government corruption, arrested with no warning, labeled mentally ill for subscribing to so-called “conspiratorial” views about the government, detained against his will in a psych ward for standing by his views, and isolated from his family, friends and attorneys—is a prime example of the government’s war on veterans.

Blueprint for Success: Turning Federal Acts into Hot Air

By Michael Boldin – Tenth Amendment Center –

“Without local enforcement, by compliant local authorities, the will of the central government is not much more than hot air.”
-Hans-Hermann Hoppe

In what should be seen as a blueprint for effective resistance to federal power, the Nashville Police refused to help the Secret Service after a “frantic call for backup” to enter and search a resident’s home without a search warrant.

According to News Channel 5:

“A Secret Service agent made a frantic call for backup to Nashville police after he and another agent went to the home of a Nashville man, investigating threatening comments on Facebook about the President. The man who posted them had refused to let the agents into his house.

He shoved the door in our face and went around the corner. Looks like, we’re not sure if he … possibly he had a gun in his hands,” the agent told a 911 operator.”

“The resident refused to come outside and shouted back, ‘Show me your warrant,’” said Nashville Police Chief Steve Anderson.

While much of the media attention focused on the fact that the SS agents asked a police sergeant to ‘wave a piece of paper’ in an apparent effort to dupe the resident into thinking that they indeed had a warrant when they did not, most coverage missed what might be even more important.

Refusal to participate with federal acts on a local level is legal, constitutional – and effective.
