Many Indian Christians arrested protesting church attacks

Hundreds of Indian Christians were arrested in New Delhi on Thursday during a protest against government inaction following a series of attacks on local churches that raised fears of increasing religious intolerance in the Indian capital.

The protesters — who included nuns and priests — attempted to march from a cathedral near the country’s parliament to Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence, located in a high-security area where protests are banned. The protesters targeted Singh because he is responsible for maintaining domestic law and order.

The action, organized by church leaders and activists, followed an incident on Monday in which unknown persons broke into a Delhi church, desecrating property. The crime was the latest in a series of reported arsons, burglaries and acts of vandalism targeting local churches. In total, five churches have been attacked in the last two months.

“A clear pattern of orchestrated attacks is emerging as more churches are targeted, vandalized and set on fire,” Delhi Archbishop Anil Couto told reporters Thursday.

While the overwhelming majority of India’s 1.26 billion citizens are Hindu, it is officially a secular country. Christians, who comprise only about 2.3 percent (28 million) of the population, say attacks on churches have increased since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept national elections last May.

Though hate groups have targeted Indian Christians in the past, some experts say the BJP’s victory has bolstered their activities.

“Since the elections, certain more anti-Christian groups in India have gotten emboldened and have engaged in somewhat more provocative acts,” Chad Bauman, an associate professor of religion at Butler University who studies Hindu-Christian relations, told Al Jazeera.

Following the recent attacks, church leaders and activists are demanding that authorities establish an independent panel to investigate hate crimes carried out against the Christian community.

“We don’t trust the police to conduct an impartial inquiry. We want a panel headed by a high court judge to investigate these attacks,” said human rights activist John Dayal, who was among those arrested Thursday. “Our demand is for justice and security for the Christian community.”

Non-Muslim African Troops Kill 250 Boko Haram Terrorists

Soldiers from Cameron and Chad have killed 250 Muslim Terrorists, and killed all of the mass murdering Islamic Muslim terrorists they were sent to hunt out

As the report on Christianity Daily tells us: Cameroonian and Chadian forces say they have killed over 250 Boko Haram militants.

On Wednesday, forces from Cameroon said they killed about 50 militants in a battle at a border town between Cameroon and Nigeria. Boko Haram has been attacking northern Nigeria and had started to affect towns in Cameroon. Wednesday, Boko Haram militants fought with Cameroonian troops in the town of Fotokol. Cameroonian officials say that at least 50 militants and six soldiers were killed in the fight.

Armed forces in Chad reported to have killed at least 200 Boko Haram militants on Tuesday. State media as well as military officials confirmed the numbers. Chad’s forces attacked the Boko Haram bases of Ngara and Gambaru in northern Nigeria. They lost nine soldiers to the militants during the attack.

The regional forces of Niger, Nigeria, Chad, and Cameroon have contributed thousands of troops in order to combat the growing threat of Boko Haram. Chad is considered one of the strongest militaries in the region and has been conducting air strikes on Boko Haram territories for the past few days. Though Nigeria is no longer alone in the battle against the militant group, the country makes it clear that it will remain completely autonomous and not be influenced by the governments of its neighboring countries.

Nigeria is currently the biggest nation in Africa in both economy and population. Many of its resources come from its oil fields. Further, presidential elections will take place on February 14, and many believe that the current president….

DHS to intensify attacks on freedom oriented citizens

From the Examiner.com –

Within the last two weeks several tips came into the Examiner indicating pending dangers to certain groups of citizens. These tips led to a source who, speaking on condition of anonymity, alleges that just after the election a major initiative will be launched against citizens whose values are diametrically opposite to that of Barack Obama and the current Washington elitist leadership in Congress. According to the source, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will greatly intensify its attacks on freedom oriented citizens.

The source indicated that the those within DHS and the rest of the Obama Administration who support a massive crackdown on the liberties of citizens are ready to make a dramatic move once the midterm elections in November are over. These particular government employees, particularly those at the top levels, believe that Christians, Tea Party participants, and those who support the Constitution and oppose Obama and his “progressive” agenda are dangerous and need to be subjected to a purge.

This purge would be in the form of prosecution through the courts. The objective would be to silence their voices and remove them from society by tossing them into prison where they could spend years and a ton of money attempting to get out of jail and defend their reputations. The “progressives” in the administration and Congress believe that the lame duck period just after the November midterm elections is the time to move swiftly to get these things done. Obama doesn’t have to face reelection. And if the internal polling being done by both Democrats and Republicans is true, the Democrats will be forced into minority status in the Senate in addition to the House. Thus, in the two months after the election prior to the time when the new Congress is sworn in in January of 2015, a golden opportunity exists for the “progressive” elitist tyrants to make their move. After all, they have nothing to lose.

Although the tip concerning this information came within the last two weeks, the publication of it was on hold until more verification could be received. That verification came today in an article written by colleague David Codrea, who is the National Gun Rights Examiner.

Shortly after the election of Barack Obama, it became all too clear that DHS intended to lay the foundation for a massive purge of Christians and liberty oriented citizens. Internal memos were discovered that referred to these citizens as “potential homegrown terrorists.” The objective was to crank up the propaganda machine in an effort to malign, demonize, and ruin the reputations of otherwise good citizens so that eventually it would be easier to persecute and prosecute them without running too far afield of public opinion.

In 2012 the Examiner received at least one document from DHS that listed the various categories of citizens that would be deemed as “potential homegrown terrorists.” This document is one of the most important, but as you will see, it has been revised to include an apologetic to counteract the heavy criticism the report received. DHS used this report to compile its policy on “potential homegrown terrorists.”

But not once was Islamic extremists mentioned. Those whom DHS mentioned specifically is very telling — Ron Paul supporters, gun owners and gun rights activists, those who promote the Constitution as the final rule of law, U.S. war veterans returning home from overseas, those who support the right of Israel to exist, evangelical Christians and others who are pro-life and who believe the Bible and take it seriously, Tea Party activists, conservative voters who take to the streets to march or to demonstrate in opposition to high taxes, runaway government spending, Obamacare, and other programs of the “progressives” in the current administration. Michelle Malkin provided this report on the issue at the time.

Ferguson was for amateurs.
