Sudan Attacks Are Largest Offensive On Christians Since 2011

“The slaughter of Christians and other minority communities by ISIS has awakened many Christians to persecution of the global Church. Sudan’s Christians and other marginalized peoples are also under attack. For decades they have been starved, enslaved, and killed. Churches, schools, and hospitals bombed regularly by the Islamist government.” — Faith J. H. McDonnell, Institute On Religion And Democracy (IRD) Religious Liberty Program Director

Sudan’s Khartoum-based regime has ramped up its attacks on the people of the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile State.

The journalists of Nuba Reports chronicle bombings that continually have been taking place since June 2011. According to the latest count, 3740 bombs have been dropped on civilians in the Nuba Mountains since April 2012. Nuba Reports journalist Yassin Hassan writes that this new ramping up by the Sudanese government is “the largest offensive since the new stage of Sudan’s civil war started in 2011.”

Sudan’s Air Force has been accused of a number of atrocities this year….

Islamic State releases 19 Christian captives for ransom

Israel’s Arutz Sheva reported that the 19 Christians who were released by the Islamic State Sunday were freed because a ransom was paid for each of the captives.

The ransom, considered a jizya (tax paid by non-Muslims to Muslims in Islamic territory) by the Islamic State’s religious courts, was likely around $1,700 per person, the director of the Assyrian Network for Human Rights told Arutz Sheva.

BEIRUT (AP) — The Islamic State group released at least 19 Christians on Sunday who were among the more than 220 people the militants took captive in northeastern Syria last week, activists and a local leader said.

The news provided a modicum of relief to a Christian Assyrian community that has been devastated by the abductions, which saw Islamic State fighters haul off entire families from a string of villages along the Khabur River in Hassakeh province. But fears remain over the fate of the hundreds still held captive.

Bashir Saedi, a senior official in the Assyrian Democratic Organization, said the 16 men and three women arrived safely Sunday at the Church of the Virgin Mary in the city of Hassakeh. He said the 19 — all of them from the village of Tal Ghoran — had traveled by bus from the Islamic State-held town of Shaddadeh south of Hassakeh.

Sudan Aids Muslim Investors Take Last Piece Of Church Land

JUBA, South Sudan (Morning Star News) – The Sudanese government today helped Muslim investors take over the remaining property of Khartoum Bahri Evangelical Church in Khartoum North, church leaders said.

Riot police on two trucks arrived at the church property at noon and assisted in the seizure of the land by force.

“Over the past year they have aided another Muslim businessman to seize a piece of the land, and today they are taking the only piece of land left for the church,” a church leader who requested anonymity told Morning Star News.

The take-over comes less than a month after the government seized another Christian facility in Khartoum.

The church is appealing to Christians worldwide to pray for them.

“We are asking all of you to pray for our situation in Sudan,” another church leader said. “Oh God, have mercy upon us.”

On Oct. 5, 2013, Sudan’s police and security forces broke through the church fence and beat and arrested Christians in the compound, asserting parts of the property belonged to a Muslim investor accompanying them. As Muslims nearby shouted, “Allahu Akbar [God is greater],” plainclothes police ….

Church leaders hold ownership papers to the property and believe any contract surrendering it comes from a government ruse.

Harassment, arrests and persecution of Christians have intensified since the secession of South Sudan in 2011, when President Omar al-Bashir vowed to adopt a stricter version of sharia (Islamic law) and recognize only Islamic culture and the Arabic language.

The Sudanese Minister of Guidance and Endowments announced in April 2013 that no new licenses would be granted for building new churches in Sudan, citing a decrease in the South Sudanese population.

Sudan since 2012 has expelled foreign Christians and bulldozed church buildings on the pretext that they belonged to South Sudanese. Besides raiding Christian bookstores and arresting Christians, authorities threatened to kill South Sudanese Christians who do not leave or cooperate with them in their effort to find other Christians.

ISIS Burns Churches, Takes Christian Hostages, Western Forces No Help

In the early hours of Monday, February 23, Islamic State fighters attacked several Christian villages along the Khabur River in north eastern Syria. As many as 200 Christians—including women and children—were taken hostage. Their families fear that they will either be sold as slaves and/or raped, or simply massacred, as many other Christian hostages of the Islamic State have been—most recently the 21 Coptic martyrs in Libya.

Several churches were also torched or damaged during the jihadi raid, including the church in Tel Hurmiz, one of the oldest churches in Syria, the Mar Bisho church in Tel Shamiran, the church in Qabr Shamiy and the church in Tel Baloua.

And, perhaps worst of all, this raid “brought to light deplorable conduct on the part of other persons,” namely the West. According to Archbishop Hindo:

“I wish to say quite clearly that we have the feeling of being abandoned into the hands of ISIS. Yesterday American bombers flew over the area several times, but without taking action. We have a hundred Assyrian families who have taken refuge in Hassakè, but they have received no assistance either from the Red Crescent or from Syrian government aid workers, perhaps because they are Christians. The UN high commission for Refugees is nowhere to be seen.”

ISIS Leader Admits Being Funded By Obama Administration

An ISIS leader named Yousef al-Salafi in Pakistan has admitted that ISIS is being funded by the USA, and thus, the Obama administration. This came from a statement done by the Pakistani government which interrogated Yousef and received this information from him. There was a news report done on this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01mnrPWIiiI&feature=player_embedded

A source privy to the investigations said:

During the investigations, Yousaf al Salafi revealed that he was getting funding – routed through America – to run the organisation in Pakistan and recruit young people to fight in Syria….

One source said that al Salafi confessed that he and another ally — said to be an imam — was getting paid by the US to recruit youths to join ISIS for $600 a recruit.

The same source said:

The US has been condemning the IS activities but unfortunately has not been able to stop funding of these organisations, which is being routed through the US… The US had to dispel the impression that it is financing the group for its own interests and that is why it launched offensive against the organisation in Iraq but not in Syria.

The Obama administration funding ISIS should not surprise us. Lets not forget that the Obama administration has refused to back Egypt in its destruction of ISIS, and is working with Turkey which one of the main backers of ISIS. Let us also not forget that the USA supports the FSA and is working to continue to fund and train jihadists in Syria to overthrow the Assad regimen, an action that will only allow the Islamists, and ultimately Turkey, to dominate the Middle East.

The world truly is ruled by the devil, and all of his demons are possessing the most powerful people in the world, and while they make us think that they are doing the “right thing,” they are in reality supporting the epitome of all evil. From psychiatric drugs, Islamic terrorists, the slaughter of innocent infants, to the homosexual agenda, the evils that we see in front of our eyes are being empowered wicked men, embellished with suites and smiles.

We think the Islamic terrorists are the only evil, but the truth remains that the most demonic people are the ones behind the curtain of destruction, directing the scenes of perdition, while going before cameras with sharp grins, hand waves, and a lofty podium, and they are in power only because the masses allow them to be in power.

Let us always keep in mind that it was George Bush who removed Saddam, who was suppressing the jihadists and protecting the Christians, and all that did was set the stage for all of these Islamists to invade the Middle East, and from such chaos and disorder, ISIS was formed.

The fact remains that America is aiding the persecution of Christians in the Middle East, because at the end of the day, that is the ultimate goal of the jihadists: destroy Christianity….

Admiral SLAMS Obama, Sends Warning To America!

The video below features 4-Star Navy Admiral James A. ‘Ace’ Lyons, the former Commander-in-Chief of the US Pacific Fleet, speaking at the National Press Club during a press conference on how to combat radical Islamic extremism in America. While one might think Lyons would quickly go after Al-Qaeda and ISIS, the warning given here Admiral Lyons should awaken any Americans remaining in the country who still thinks Barack Obama has Americans best interest in mind.

Calling on all Military leaders and the new GOP controlled Congress to STAND UP to the Obama administration and UPHOLD their oaths, Admiral Lyons tells us we “have a hell of a job” ahead of us in warning that the Muslim Brotherhood has now completely infiltrated the National Security agencies across the country, including all of our intelligence agencies.

This video is a must watch and completely confirms our military being disarmed by Obama and should send a strong warning to all Christians, 2nd Amendment supporters, gun owners, freedom lovers, those who still follow the US Constitution and everyone else who loves America: time is running out.

Many Indian Christians arrested protesting church attacks

Hundreds of Indian Christians were arrested in New Delhi on Thursday during a protest against government inaction following a series of attacks on local churches that raised fears of increasing religious intolerance in the Indian capital.

The protesters — who included nuns and priests — attempted to march from a cathedral near the country’s parliament to Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence, located in a high-security area where protests are banned. The protesters targeted Singh because he is responsible for maintaining domestic law and order.

The action, organized by church leaders and activists, followed an incident on Monday in which unknown persons broke into a Delhi church, desecrating property. The crime was the latest in a series of reported arsons, burglaries and acts of vandalism targeting local churches. In total, five churches have been attacked in the last two months.

“A clear pattern of orchestrated attacks is emerging as more churches are targeted, vandalized and set on fire,” Delhi Archbishop Anil Couto told reporters Thursday.

While the overwhelming majority of India’s 1.26 billion citizens are Hindu, it is officially a secular country. Christians, who comprise only about 2.3 percent (28 million) of the population, say attacks on churches have increased since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept national elections last May.

Though hate groups have targeted Indian Christians in the past, some experts say the BJP’s victory has bolstered their activities.

“Since the elections, certain more anti-Christian groups in India have gotten emboldened and have engaged in somewhat more provocative acts,” Chad Bauman, an associate professor of religion at Butler University who studies Hindu-Christian relations, told Al Jazeera.

Following the recent attacks, church leaders and activists are demanding that authorities establish an independent panel to investigate hate crimes carried out against the Christian community.

“We don’t trust the police to conduct an impartial inquiry. We want a panel headed by a high court judge to investigate these attacks,” said human rights activist John Dayal, who was among those arrested Thursday. “Our demand is for justice and security for the Christian community.”

Five Bible Verses ‘Constantly Used Out of Context’?

It’s been claimed that many Christians regularly misuse the wildly popular Bible verse Philippians 4:13, but are there other tidbits of scripture that are similarly being touted in an improper context?

Thomas Turner, an author and program manager at the International Justice Mission, penned a recent blog post for Relevant Magazine in which he highlighted Philippians 4:13 along with four other verses that he said are “constantly used out of context.”

“When we open our Bibles, we read words that are thousands of years old with twenty-first century eyes. We read words literally written in stone tablets on tablets made of plastic and metal,” Turner wrote. “With such a gap in time comes a context problem. Basically, when we open our Bibles, we are faced with a problem: We don’t know what that culture and time in history was like, so we often take things the wrong way.”

He noted that this is a problem for popular uses of Jeremiah 29:11, Luke 4:18-19, Matthew 5:18, Luke 6:20 and Philippians 4:13.

Turner argued that many people miss the communal aspect inherent in Jeremiah 29:11, which reads, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Rather than recognizing that this verse is about God speaking to the “whole people of God, Israel and the church,” Turner said that some Christians internalize it and assume that it’s God’s personal address to each and every individual.

“The context does not negate that fact that God wants us to put on the armor of God by living virtuous lives of spiritual discipline or that the God who made us has a plan for us,” he wrote. “What the context of passages like Jeremiah 29 or Ephesians 6 implore us to do, as the people of God, is to be in this together. For God works in this world primarily through the Holy Spirit and the Body of Christ.”

And then there’s Luke 4:18-19, which reads, “He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives.” Turner said that Christians tend to spiritualize captivity, taking for granted the fact that physical freedom doesn’t exist for all.

Jesus, he said, was speaking about both material and spiritual healing.

“These people lived in a country where the provincial ruler could order every baby boy under two years of age slaughtered and no one stopped it,” he explained of those living under Roman rule to whom Jesus was talking. “This is often missed on us who take for granted physical freedom.”

Turner continued, “[Jesus] saves us body and soul, not one or the other. He wants to save us from our physical captivity and our spiritual captivity. That’s why he healed people and he forgave their sins.”

….it is essential to look at the verse in context….

Obama At National Prayer Breakfast: ’People Committed Terrible Deeds In The Name of Christ’

At the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama reminded attendees that violence rooted in religion isn’t exclusive to Islam, but has been carried out by Christians as well.

Obama said that even though religion is a source for good around the world, there will always be people willing to “hijack religion for their own murderous ends.”

“Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” Obama said. “In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Obama also denounced Islamic State terrorists for professing to stand up for Islam when they were actually “betraying it.”

History of Money and Usury in America

….[W]e are being taken for a ride, laboring for little or no return by a band of international criminals through our elected officials and educators. The process of how they pull this off keeping the vast majority in the dark as to how they do it requires us to learn some economics terminology. As a rule, this is a vapid study ; but by condensing the fundamentals of money creation, the entire subject can become understandable to anyone.

We could drive the moneychangers out of the temple now ; but
which school of thinking would we replace them with when they
are removed? Do we have a clear enough vision that would
enable us to institute an alternative that will work for the common
good? Attempts have been made to throw the moneychangers out
of the temple several times in American history ; but the
objectives were unobtainable without first considering that usury
is at the root of their power ; and consequently it has always
ended with the evil side winning. To win, it will be necessary to
be as strong-willed as Andrew Jackson was during the ‘Bank
Wars’ of the 1830s when he vetoed legislation to renew the
Second Bank of the United States. The assassination attempt on
his life was thwarted. But two other presidents whose
administrations denied the bankers their pound of flesh in usury
on money creations did not survive. So this battle with bankers over usury has always turned sanguinary. Educating a critical
mass of the population will be a necessary component in this
conflict ; so we must first learn all about the disease before
entering the struggle to implement the only correct cure.

Money and Usury….

Most money is created as interest bearing debt by banks and has
been for well over three hundred years. When the Federal Reserve Act was passed giving ownership of a new banking institution known as the Federal Reserve to a privately owned cartel of international bankers, Congress transferred its constitutional authority to create our money to this privately owned corporation. Proof that this authority belongs to Congress is presented further on in this paper. Several forms of money in use are as follows:

Coins are minted by the United States government. Our government pays no interest to anyone for Coins. They are stamped and dated at various US Mint locations and released into the currency stream at authorized Fed member banks, including credit unions that are also licensed to operate as banking functionaries. Coins make up an insignificant amount of the M1 money supply; and they are legal tender for all debts, public and private. [1]

Paper currency (presently Federal Reserve Notes) is also legal
tender. Paper currency has been around since Colonial times in
America. The Chinese printed paper currency during the 11th
century. Bank notes as paper currency were common during mid
19th century America. They were redeemable for specie (gold coin) at private banks. At various other times public paper currency has circulated under different names. Gold backed
paper currency was in use in America prior to and at the
beginning of the Federal Reserve until 1933 when FDR took
America off the gold standard. It was from then on no longer
possible for individual Americans to demand gold (specie) in
return for their paper currency.
But with all these technical distinctions that the various forms
money have taken on, it is imperative to understand that all of
them constitute the means by which people are able to rid
themselves of a primitive barter system. [2]

There is nothing inherently evil in using money as a medium of
exchange ; but the way in which money is presently created
guarantees that all people will continue to remain under high
finance’s debt oppression. The parasites of high finance have used one tool exclusively to feed their insatiable appetites for more and more money: it is usury in money creation. Money, to the parasites, has consequently become a fungible rather than what it simply should be: a medium of exchange. We shall explore this line of reasoning further in this essay.

Gold…

The purveyors of gold backed money (formerly called gold
brokers [3]) are still with us. Their hue and cry is forever against the use of unbacked paper currency. They call it fiat money. [4]

One web site where anyone can read their gold propaganda is at
www.lewrockwell.com . Active educators and elected
officials involved in this web site should be well known by all.
Two of them are Gary North and Ron Paul. Fiat money to these
two is a derogatory term. We should always be alert to their advertising devices. North’s twisting of the plain intent on usury that the Bible teaches leads unsophisticated Christians into believing false paradigms….

‘Christianophobia’ Research — and a Cautionary Warning!

Sociologists at the University of North Texas are issuing a cautionary warning to Christians noting that, though there isn’t widespread “Christianophonia” in the U.S., the small group of those who have a strong aversion to conservative believers are among the influential and elite.

George Yancey and David Williamson shared findings corroborating this notion in their recently released book “So Many Christians, So Few Lions: Is There Christianophobia in the United States?” which promises to offer a “provocative look at anti-Christian sentiments in America.”

The sociologists, who define Christianophobia as “unreasonable hatred or fear of Christians,” argue that it’s worth exploring potential intense bias against Christians, as it helps readers understand the “social dynamics” that exist in the U.S., according to an official book description.

As far as how prevalent the problem truly is, Yancey told the Christian Post that it’s really a small group of people that hold strong hostility, though that group is comprised of elite individuals with more societal power than the average person.

Yancey said that he and his co-author were motivated to explore potential Christianophobia after they began collecting qualitative data from interviews with liberal activists and noticed a troubling trend among a certain subset of these respondents.

That in mind, a few months ago, the sociologist shared a sampling of some of the “unreasonable hatred” he said he encountered through interviews with cultural progressive activists for the purpose of his study. Here are just three of the comments that were made about the Christian right:

“I want them all to die in a fire.” (Male, aged 26-35 with Doctorate)

“They should be eradicated without hesitation or remorse. Their only purpose is to damage and inflict their fundamentalist virus onto everyone they come in contact with.” (Female, aged 66-75 with Master degree)

“They make me a believer in eugenics….They pollute good air…I would be in favor of establishing a state for them… If not, then sterilize them so they can’t breed more.” (Male, aged 46-55 with Master degree)

These statements caused Yancey to look deeper at the pool of respondents — individuals who were chosen from unnamed groups that are actively opposed to sentiments held by many conservative Christians….

“I have established that those with animosity towards conservative Christians tend to have more per-capita social power than those with animosity towards other religiously based groups,” Yancey wrote in a blog post last year. “They are more likely to be white, educated and wealthy. The education advantage creates a unique dimension in this group as one may contend that highly educated individuals are unlikely to engage in unreasonable level of hatred or anger.”

….Yancey cited as evidence non-discrimination policies enacted in California Christian colleges that have forced some student groups out of official recognition if they refuse to allow atheists and other non-Christians the opportunity to lead those groups — something that he said seems to show evidence of college administrators exhibiting “some degree of latent Christianophobia with a fiction of promoting equality.”

“We documented that some level of Christianophobia is present among certain powerful subcultures in our society,” he continued. “This helps us understand some actions in our society.”

ISIS Law: Execution for Christians reading the Bible

ISIS has made a new rule: if you get caught reading the Bible, you will be executed. According to one report:

The statement specifically states that “Muslims do not hear the recitation of their books out loud”, effectively banning any Christians from openly reading the Bible or singing psalms. Likewise, all acts of worship must be carried out inside a church and under no circumstances should acts of worship be performed in public.

The new tyrannical edict forbids “public worship and treachery against IS.” Christians are also “banned from publicly showing their crosses in Muslim areas, or in their own market places.”

According to another report, “Defying these rules could result in death.”

We all know how cruel and merciless ISIS is, and they will show no mercy to any Christian reading the Bible in public. When the Islamic State in the beginning of August attacked the Syrian government’s last stronghold in north al-Raqqa, they captured a regiment from Brigade 93. 90 IS fighters were reported to have been killed in the battle and 300 Syrian soldiers were reported killed and more than 100 were captured including 2 Brigadier Generals.

We edited most of the beheading footage from the video, and focused on one story: the execution of a Christian soldier. The Christian’s wallet was searched and they found a cross, and the caption on the video states “The nation of disbelief are all one,” insinuating that a Christian is just as bad as an unbeliever in Islam. Then the camera zooms on two captives, the first is a Shiite who is killed without question and the other is the Christian who is quickly given his last chance to convert to Islam, he rejects and is shot on the spot with an additional shot in pure vengeance.

So, because they are so vicious and ruthless against any Christian who openly expresses his faith, there is no doubt that they will be carrying out this despotic edict with the death penalty.

Christian militias have already arisen in Iraq and Syria which we can now fund and support which has been approved by U.S. government. It is called The Syriac Military Council….

Christian persecution is intensifying every day, and it will reach its apex through the power of the reviving neo-Ottoman movement. In the Middle Ages, when Christian persecution was being done by the Turkish Seljuk empire, there was a crusade. So, in the future, there will be the Final Crusade, fighting against the Ottoman Empire to liberate Christianity. It will consist of pure Christian action, which will be the ultimate expression of faith and the show of pious love done for the cause of defeating Satan….

Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! (James 2:18-19)

You may say that you believe in God, in the Crucifixion, in the Trinity, but the devils themselves know that these things are real and true. So what separates us from the demons? Our actions…. the angels fought against evil, against the devils and Satan, showed that they had love for God and His laws. Human beings, then, have two choices: they can either emulate the angels, and fight for God, or emulate the devils, and rebel against God and end up in the everlasting abyss. To emulate the angels makes one a son of God, and to emulate the demons makes one a son of Belial….

And it is with love, that the warriors of the Church strike the enemies of God as Joshua struck the heathens of Jericho, as Gideon vanquished the Midianites, as Samson crushed the Philistines, as Jehu slew the priests of Baal, and Judas Maccabeus killed the Jews who plunged themselves into the abysmal depths of pagans and sodomites. It was with love that the holy king, Hezekiah, amongst the greatest warriors for the path of Light and for the peace of humanity, shattered the idols and slew the wizards, took the lives of the pagan priests and destroyed the houses of the sodomites who “are deserving of death” (Romans 1:32).

With his zeal and his piety, his gallantry and with the fiery love that burned within his bosom, did the glorious Hezekiah “turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him.” (2 Kings 23:25)

When he slew the wicked, he followed the First Commandment that Christ exhorted us to follow, as well as the Second Commandment, loving his neighbor by destroying the evildoers who oppressed the helpless, “that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech” (2 Kings 23:10). He followed the path of faith in all perfection, observing the First and Second Commandments, for “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:39)

….There are many theologians and pastors today that complicate the Gospel, saying that Christ got rid of all the laws and replaced them with two laws: love God and love your neighbor. But what they will never bring in Romans 13:9, where Paul says that all of the laws summarized by one law: love your neighbor as yourself….

All of the Law, be it in uprooting the sodomites, Islam, feminism and atheism, or in punishing any sort of wickedness, is done so for love of one’s neighbor. To give license to the homosexual agenda, or to jihadism, or to abortion, or the destruction of Christian institutions (such as marriage and the honor given to human life), or to mockery of Christianity, or to deviancy, is anarchy, and shows an utter callousness to one’s neighbor.

Truly what the world needs now is not superficial love, but true love. The world needs the love that strikes the wicked and the cruel; we need the love that instills fear into the evildoers “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (1 Timothy 2:2-4)

Obama declares war on ‘extremism’ – Are you an ‘extremist’ according to his definition?

By Michael Snyder | Economic Collapse Blog

Do you know what an “extremist” is? In the wake of the horrible terror attacks on the offices of Charlie Hebdo in France, Barack Obama is speaking very boldly about the need to win the war against “extremists”, and he has announced plans to host a major global summit on “extremism” next month. And on the surface that sounds great. But precisely how are we supposed to determine whether someone is an “extremist” or not? What criteria should we use? As you will see below, your definition of an “extremist” may be far, far different from the definition that Barack Obama is using. When you do a Google search, you will find that an “extremist” is defined as “a person who holds extreme or fanatical political or religious views, especially one who resorts to or advocates extreme action.” According to Wikipedia, “extremism” is “an ideology (particularly in politics or religion), considered to be far outside the mainstream attitudes of a society or to violate common moral standards. Extremism can take many forms, including political, religious and economic.” Please notice that neither of those definitions uses the word violence. In this day and age, you can be considered an “extremist” simply based on what you believe, and as you will see later in this article there are now tens of millions of Americans that are considered to be “extremists” and “potential terrorists” according to official U.S. government documents.

When you use the word “extremist”, you may have in your mind a picture of ISIS fighters or the terrorists from the Charlie Hebdo massacre.

But for elitists such as Barack Obama, the word “extremist” has a much broader meaning. In recent years, it has become a code word for those that do not have an “enlightened” view of the world. If your views on politics, religion or social issues are extremely different from the liberal, progressive views of “the mainstream” (as defined by the mainstream media and by “mainstream” politicians such as Barack Obama), then they consider you to be an extremist. Christmas denied by Hindus in India

While the rest of the world was celebrating Christmas by exchanging gifts and good wishes, several Christians in central India were forced to spend their Christmas in jail. Thirteen Christians, including three children and an eight-month-old infant, were falsely accused by Hindu radicals of blasphemy and were sent to jail in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh on December 26th.

Rev. J. Divine of the Methodist Church in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh told ICC, “The situation is very serious and the Christians of this region are frightened, as the authorities do not act on the cries of the minorities.”

Thirteen Christians spent Christmas in Jail.

Mr. Shamlal, a Christian in Sukta Dam, hosted a Christmas celebration in his house in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh where Geetanjali, Geetanjali’s family, and ten other Christians were invited for the celebration. During a time of worship, three unknown men came and stood at a distance trying to take pictures and video footage of the Christmas celebration.

Sensing the trouble, the Christians went and inquired as to why the men were taking pictures and videos of their program without informing the host of this activity. Soon, more people joined the three strangers and started to threaten the Christians, accusing them of converting innocent tribal and poor people.

Shamlal, sensing the situation was out of control, asked all of the Christians who came to leave and return home. As the Christians were preparing to leave, they were chased by the mob of Hindus. The Christians immediately went into a house and locked themselves inside for protection. “Lord help us and protect us,” was the prayer offered to God by Geetanjali, a young mother, as mob of now 400 Hindus surrounded the mud house where the Christians were hiding.

The growing mob threatened the Christians who were inside the house, demanding that they come out. Geetanjali told ICC that she heard the voices of the Hindu radicals shouting, “Come out of the house in five minutes; otherwise we will kill you. We will not spare you.”

After fifteen minutes, police arrived and asked the Christians to open the door, saying that they would protect them from the mob. When they opened the door, the officers escorted them to the police station. To the shock of the Christians, a case had already been booked against them under Section 295 of India’s Penal Code, popularly known as India’s blasphemy law. The police refused to record the complaints from the Christians refused to hear what the Christians had to say regarding the incident. The police said, “What you want to say, say it in the court.” The Christians stayed in the police station through the night as well as the next day. All thirteen, including an eight-month-old infant named Abhilasha, were sent to jail.

In total, the Christians spent five days in the jail, before they were able to post bail and were released on December 31st.

False accusations cancelled Christmas.

In a similar situation, Christians in Balisurah village, located in the Sundergarh district of Odisha, also spent their Christmas under awful pressure, as false cases were also booked against several pastors and Christians in the region. Pastor Joshua Das, a Christian leader from Raurkela told ICC, “We had to cancel 3 days of Christmas celebrations, as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) filed a case against seven people who were part of the organizing the Christmas celebrations.”

“Beginning on the 25th, almost every day we had to go to police station,” Pastor Das continued. “We have had to halt our normal worship service now. We do not know how long this will continue.”

Mr. Yuvraj Vardhan, the Regional Secretary of FMPB (Friends Missionary Prayer Band), also told ICC that, “The Christians of this region are being targeted and threatened more frequently than normal by the Hindu radical groups.” Mr. Vardhan went on to urge Christians to pray for the protection of Christian workers and the Christian community. He also expressed hope that both the police and media will take neutral positions.

The time for action is now.

Ever since Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came into power in May last year, Hindu radical groups have been emboldened and are carrying out outrageous acts of violence and persecution against Christians who are already a minority in India. The Sangh Parivar and its affiliate groups continue to threaten to hold large scale conversion ceremonies that forcefully convert Christians to the Hindu faith.

Despite India’s laws officially protecting the freedom of religion, there have reportedly been thirty-one incidents of Christian persecution just in the month of December, 2014. Unfortunately, many more incidents go unreported for various reasons.

In December, ICC launched a petition calling on India’s government to stop the attacks on India’s Christian community, and they have already collected over 5,000 signature. Please consider adding your name to this petition and taking a stand for India’s persecuted Christian community. To sign this petition, follow this link: http://info.persecution.org/IndiaPetition .

As the Christian community in India continues to face this new wave of persecution, Christians worldwide must take action to call for the protection of their brothers and sisters in India.

Islamic Terrorists Destroy A Thousand Churches In Nigeria

Islamic terror expert Raymond Ibrahim has published a report showing that Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria have destroyed 1,000 churches and displaced hundreds of thousands of Christians.

From August to October of 2014, nearly 200 churches were destroyed and 190,000 people were displaced.

In the last four years alone, 1,000 churches have been burned to the ground and thousands of Christians have been killed or driven from their villages.

Boko Haram killed 2,053 in 2014 alone.

According to Ibrahim:

A typical church attack in Nigeria that occurred in October was reported as follows: “Armed Muslim extremists stormed two churches in Taraba state on Sunday (Oct. 19) and killed 31 people as they worshipped… Two pastors, one pastor’s son, and 28 other Christians were slain in the attacks.” According to the Rev. Caleb Ahema, president of the Christian Reformed Church of Christ in Nigeria, “The attack on Christians in Taraba state is a planned genocide against Christians by Islamic insurgents who have invaded the southern part of the state, inhabited mostly by Christians, since February.”

The Center for the Studies of Global Christianity reports that about 100,000 Christians are killed each year for their beliefs – one every five minutes. Most of these are killed by Islamic terrorists.

These attacks will continue and inevitably grow worse without the intervention of Western nations with the will to fight Islamic killers wherever they are found. The only thing these killers understand is brute and unrelenting military force against them until all of them are either killed, captured, or driven into hiding.

Lone Wolf Christianity

There’s never been a time when the necessity of church and fellowship has been called into question as much as today. I passed by a table of books one day and saw a title that struck me as odd. The title seemed to insinuate that there was a way to follow Christ without ever meeting together with the church body. To be fair, I haven’t read the book so I could very well have misunderstood it. But I have encountered this attitude many times in social media and in person. The attitude of disillusionment with “established” religion and a kind of contempt towards formalized worship. The mantra is everywhere: “Christianity is a relationship, not a religion.”

True… but it is a relationship that includes a religion. And part of this religion is meeting together with a body of believers, sitting under gospel preaching, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. These core things shouldn’t be replaced or seen as unnecessary.

Yes, many churches have been disappointing. There have been schisms, scandals, frauds and embarrassments. But the answer is not to swing to the opposite end of the spectrum, reject church life altogether and adopt a “lone wolf” Christianity. Not only is this completely against scripture (Hebrews 10:24-25), but also it is detrimental to a healthy walk with Christ. When we’re walking this path alone, we’re actually starving ourselves of so many benefits.

It starves us of accountability.

Accountability is a strong word. There seems to be a thin line between living under accountability and living under scrutiny. No one likes to be watched, especially by “church folk.” But let’s face this bit of honesty: we can’t take care of ourselves. One of the root principles of being a Christian is that we understand we are weak. We need accountability. We need brothers and sisters who love us enough to warn us, rebuke us even, when we stray or backslide. This cannot be found anywhere other than a community of Christians in a church.

It starves us of encouragement.

On the flipside, when we are apart from the Body of Christ we are cut off from affirmation and encouragement. We may be doing very well in our walk with Christ, upheld by the grace of God, but the toil and the hardships can still weigh heavily on us, causing discouragement. When we separate ourselves from brothers and sisters in Christ we are separating ourselves from the comfort they can offer, the validation that Christ is sufficient, and the encouragement to stand up and carry on in faith.

It keeps us from witnessing the work of the Holy Spirit among His people and experiencing Christ in the lives of other Christians.

How many times have you seen two people who did not get along finally come together in forgiveness because of Christ? Or fellow Christians finally emerging victorious over a sin that had plagued their lives? When we cut ourselves off from this fellowship, we cut ourselves off from the corporate blessings of the Holy Spirit working among His people.

It starves us of Biblical teaching.

It really isn’t enough to do our own Bible reading and “quiet times.” We need to be taught doctrine from a minister of the gospel. Someone who has dedicated his whole life to studying and expositing the scriptures. In the Bible we never see personal study replace preaching and church attendance. In fact, the Apostle Paul spent most of his life concerned with the welfare and spiritual lives of his fellow preachers. We cannot afford to refrain from sitting under Biblical teaching in church.

It keeps us from sharing our gifts with other Christians and makes us virtually useless in Kingdom work.

“Lone wolf” Christians are at a disadvantage when it comes to exercising their gifts. When we set ourselves apart from the rest of the church we are actually taking ourselves out of the battlefield and working in a place God did not call us to. In military terms, we are disregarding orders. We may be practicing our talents and doing great and good things, but outside of the context of the Body of Christ it is irrelevant. In a body, the eye must remain the eye and do what an eye is supposed to do. If the eye leaves the body, it is useless. In the same way, each member of the Body of Christ is to remain in the Body and accomplish within the Body what they are called to accomplish.

We have to remember something that the cross of Christ accomplished: He abolished the individual. “… you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5 NKJV. We are the bricks and mortar of a house, little parts of a greater whole. Our identity is no longer self, but we have been given a new and greater identity in Christ. We can’t afford to separate ourselves from this “spiritual house.” If we do, we’re just useless stones lying on the ground all by ourselves. Christ died so that we could live in this new identity. We cannot reject it.

China tightens church control

Two days before Christmas, members of a rural Christian congregation in eastern China welded pieces of metal into a cross and hoisted it onto the top of a worship hall to replace one that was forcibly removed in October.

Within an hour, township officials and uniformed men barged onto the church ground and tore down the cross.

“They keep a very close watch on us, and there is nothing we can do,” a church official told The Associated Press on Tuesday on condition of anonymity because of fear of government retaliation. “The situation is not good, as any attempt to re-erect the cross will be stopped.”

That means that the worshippers in Wenzhou city, like many Christians in the eastern province of Zhejiang, will worship this Christmas under a roof without a cross. Provincial authorities have toppled crosses from more than 400 churches, and even razed some worship halls in a province-wide crackdown on building code violations.

Many Christians say their faith has been singled out because authorities, wary of its rapid growth, are seeking to curb its spread in a campaign that has targeted China’s most thriving Christian communities.

Estimates for the number of Christians in China range from the conservative official figure of 23 million to as many as 100 million by independent scholars, raising the possibility that Christians may rival in size the 85 million members of the ruling Communist Party.

In August, Beijing rounded up Christian pastors and religious scholars in a national seminar with the edict that the Christian faith must be free of foreign influence but “adapt to China,” a euphemism for obeying the Communist Party’s rule.

Franklin Graham: America Is Lifting Up Sin

The Rev. Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritans Purse, says the government’s attacks against Christianity and bans on traditional Christmas themes while society glorifies sin is “like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God.”

“What’s happening is we’re glorifying sin, we’re lifting up sin. And it’s like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God,” Graham told Fox News host Megyn Kelly during a Wednesday segment of “The Kelly File.”

Speaking about atheists and secularists’ actions to ban celebrations of Christmas in schools and government buildings, Kelly commented on American Atheists’ “skip church” billboard ad campaign, which The Christian Post has reported on. She also cited the city of Pittsburg’s previous plan to rename the Christmas holidays “sparkle days” and the ban on poinsettias at a Minnesota court house, among others.

“It’s all over the country,” Graham asserted. “You have the secularists and the humanists who are wanting to deny that Jesus ever existed. And they want to take His name off of everything.”

Graham continued: “What’s happening now is that it’s infiltrating our government. And our government is attacking Christmas. And it’s not only attacking Christmas, but the name of Christ.”

Christians, he suggested, need to stop being pacifists and defend their rights by writing to their representatives on the school board, city council, state legislature and in Congress.

“Many times Christians are polite; they don’t want to be confronting anybody, so they just back off. But Christians need to write their politicians, and [they] need to stand up and defend their rights, because if you don’t, we’ll lose them. And we’re already losing them, just one at a time,” Graham said.

Research About Nativities, theResearch about the traditional Christmas Story that may surprise atheists

The Christmas season almost always brings along with it good tidings, great joy — and a series of contentious battles over the separation of church and state.

Atheist activists make it known each year that they oppose nativities and other religious displays on public land, but where do Americans really stand on the contentious constitutonal issue?

A new Pew Research Center poll found that 44 percent of Americans believe that Christian symbols like nativity scenes should be permitted on government property — even if religious symbols representing other faiths aren’t present to balance them out.

And an additional 28 percent of the public believes that Christian symbols should be permitted, but only if other symbols are there for balance. That said, 20 percent of Americans do not believe these symbols belong on public property, according to the Pew Research Center.

Taking a deeper look at the numbers, this means that 72 percent of the public supports faith-based displays on public property in some form.

But on the flip side, 48 percent of the Americans do, to some degree, have concerns about nativities and other related elements on government property; this latter proportion includes those who believe there should be a balance of symbols on display.

Islamic State not only kills Christians in Iraq, their history is erased

“This is the last link to a culture that is not going to be there anymore,” Iraqi-born professor Amal Marogy stated while showing a picture of an older Christian woman in Iraq at a December 2 Hudson Institute presentation. “The Race against ISIS: Efforts to Preserve Ancient Christian Culture in the Middle East” discussed Christian communities disintegrating under Islamic history’s latest wave of repression before a luncheon lecture audience of about 35.

Hudson’s Nina Shea introduced Marogy by referencing a “phenomenal catastrophe” in which the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) jihadist movement has destroyed over the past summer the remnant of “Biblical Christianity” in Iraq. The last of Iraq’s Aramaic Christians who trace their ancestry to the apostle Thomas have fled their homes before ISIS’s murderous Muslim marauders for a meager refuge among tents in Iraqi Kurdistan. While infrastructure such as the Mosul Dam can be retaken from ISIS, the years needed to defeat ISIS in cities such as Mosul place in doubt any reconstitution of expelled Christian communities there. While only recently receiving attention in the United States, “this…eradication of the Christian presence” in Iraq means the “end of a peaceful civilization” that “has been there for millennia.”

Because the “Middle East has been ruled by fear,” Marogy described recent Iraqi events as reflecting a “crisis of culture.” The historical pattern of the region’s societies is that a dictatorial “one man rules them all” à la the Lord of the Rings. Yet “peace will be a mirage” as long as this trend continues.

Marogy noted that the Middle East has “no homogenous culture” while emphasizing the importance of preserving the region’s many minorities. “Otherwise it is not going to be the Middle East.” While Christian culture itself is “really enrichment for everyone” in the Middle East, Marogy warned that “after the Christians come the other minorities” as targets of religious fanaticism and nihilism.

While showing pictures of ruined Christian homes and churches in Iraq, Marogy discussed her efforts to preserve elements from the “rich and ancient past” of Aramaic, one of the oldest known languages. Marogy described elderly Aramaic Christians in a picture as being part of the “last fluent generation” in an “endangered language.” Thereby the culture’s accompanying “customs and traditions…are equally endangered.”

Recent violence has ravaged Aramaic heritage in the region, destroying documents such as baptism records. Marogy’s own Aramaic relatives in Belgium have found no documentation of their Aramaic past in Belgium. “Christians don’t need a church for praying,” Marogy said while citing a bombed Syrian church, but structures like Afghanistan’s Bamiyan Buddha statues, destroyed by the Taliban, represent humanity’s heritage. This sense of a universal human legacy motivated one broad-minded man to repair a stone inscription on a bombed church photographed by Marogy, even though he did not understand the Aramaic.

Islamists Kill 28 Christians In Kenya

NAIROBI, KENYA (BosNewsLife)– Somalia-based Islamist group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility Saturday, November 22, for killing 28 Christians traveling on a bus in northeast Kenya.

The bus carrying 60 passengers was on its way to Nairobi, the capital, when it was ambushed in Mandera County early Saturday, according to militants and witnesses.

Gunmen reportedly waved down the bus before spraying it with bullets when it did not stop. They then shot a rocket-propelled grenade at the vehicle, before commandeering the bus off the road, survivors said.

The militants were seen ordering passengers to leave the vehicle before separating the travelers into Muslims and non-Muslims.

Passengers said militants then ordered the non-Muslims to reboard the bus.

CHRISTIANS EXECUTED

When the bus got stuck in the mud, some ten militants reportedly gathered the prisoners outside before carrying out the executions. They then fled to Somalia.

4 Institutions Claim Obama Using Federal Law to Wage War on Christians

The Obamacare law has been battled in court numerous times and many victories have been won against the unconstitutional law. In a recent lawsuit filed by four Christian institutions represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, the plaintiffs have alleged that the employer mandate’s purpose in forcing them to pay for abortion and abortion-causing contraception “is to discriminate against religious organizations.”

ADF represents the Association of Christian Schools International, Samaritan Ministries International, Taylor University and Indiana Wesleyan University against Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell, Labor Secretary Thomas Perez, Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew and others named in the lawsuit filed on October 31, 2014.

One would think this issue would have already been settled after the ruling by the Supreme Court on the same issue concerning Hobby Lobby. They previously ruled that the federal government cannot force business owners to violate their conscience (faith) in order to provide abortion inducing drugs or abortions.

However, the Obama administration wasn’t going to give up. They have put forth another option that would provide abortifacients and abortion services without paperwork that would connect those transactions to the employer. This is the reason for the lawsuit because the employers are still being put into a situation where it’s nothing more than a shell game to get them to sell out to being involved in some form of abortion, only this time it’s “minus the paperwork.”

According to the lawsuit, “They believe that God has condemned the intentional destruction of innocent human life. They hold, as a matter of religious conviction that it would be sinful and immoral for them intentionally to participate in, pay for, facilitate, enable, or otherwise support access to abortion, which destroys human life.”

“They hold that one of the prohibitions of the Ten Commandments (‘thou shalt not murder’) precludes them from facilitating, assisting in, serving as the conduct for, or enabling the use of drugs and devices that can and do destroy very young human beings in the womb,” the lawsuit continues. “The health benefits they provide to their employees reflect these convictions.”

The lawsuit lists each of the plaintiffs in the case and their various roles in the communities and their moral principles they hold to under the teachings of the Bible. Additionally, it recounts the history of the Obamacare law, as well as the many defeats it has faced in the courtroom, despite the unlawful ruling of the Supreme Court that declared it to be constitutional.

Though this has all been done and though the federal government has claimed that the mandate does not have any “compelling interest,” one must question why the federal government continues to pursue Christian groups in the manner they are concerning the mandate….

Unregistered Baptist Fellowship addresses Houston Confrontation

By Greg Dixon – The-Trumpet-Online.com –

Many think because Anise Parker, lesbian Mayor of Houston, dropped the subpoenas for the five pastors to turn in sermon transcripts, notes, e mails, etc., that the war is over. But it is just entering the second round because now the focus is pertaining to her legislation and court battle regarding a city Equal Rights Ordinance passed by the City Council last summer granting special rights to transgenders, which would include same-sex rest rooms which was what the issue was about to start with. However, Parker, being in her third term as mayor, two of them having been won by election, is a seasoned politician by now, and was willing to throw the preachers their bone, by withdrawing the subpoena’s to preserve the bigger issue which has not been lost yet from her point of view. According to both CBS and WND, even though a petition drive seems to be enough to recall the ordinance Parker’s supporters are trying to decertify many of the petitioners.

According to news reports there had been a great outcry among the pastors of Houston, including the black alliance who said that this was not a civil rights issue and the five pastors that had been attacked personally. Amid the protest, city officials at first doubled down, with Parker stating, “If the 5 pastors used pulpits for politics, their sermons are fair game.” Under a state and nation wide siege she and her attorneys then changed their wording from sermons to speeches, a move ADF legal counsel Joe La Rue said was “wholly inadequate.” Many also thought some of the five were strange targets in that they included a Vietnam pastor, and a Cuban woman, both who had fled to America from police states. Also many were wondering why no black pastors were targeted.

Even though it is only right that all pastors and Christian believers stand up for these pastors and the City of Houston in this Sodomite onslaught, in my opinion we need to keep this entire issue in the proper perspective.

The Unregistered Baptist Fellowship at their meeting on Oct. 20-22 in their resolution on behalf of the pastors made it clear that they had violated their own commitment to their 501 (c) (3) contract that they had agreed to when they voluntarily became tax exempt organizations under Title 26 of the IRS Code. Our resolution read thusly at this point:

“Be it Further Resolved that the City of Houston repeal and repudiate its so-called Equal Rights ordinance, since the Bible and natural law teaches that homosexuality is a behavioral choice, and therefore a wicked sin, as much as adultery, stealing, murder, etc. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Romans 1:26-28).

Be it Further Resolved that the pastors of Houston examine their relationship with the state and make sure it conforms to the Biblical pattern, so that First Amendment rights are not complied (with) by incorporation, 501 (c) (3) tax exemption, and that the light of God’s countenance may be fully upon them.

Therefore, the Unregistered Baptist Fellowship, in the name of the God of the Bible (KJV), hereby rebukes Mayor Annise Parker, and the officials of Houston who have joined with her, in this unjust assault upon religious liberty and freedom of speech; and we stand with these pastors who are trying to check the wicked homosexual agenda in their city.”

Another pastor wrote and put it this way, “Any church so registered has assigned their authority to the regulatory agency known as the IRS. Under the laws of incorporation, any entity registered as a 501 (non profit) is bound by that corporate law. Tragically, the majority of churches are registered.”

Even Mayor Parker understands this principle, let me repeat, she said, “If the 5 pastors used pulpits for politics, their sermons are fair game.” Why did she use this term? Do you suppose it is because she can read? If she can read then why can’t the pastor’s read? The IRC Code clearly says: “Individual Activity by Religious Leaders – The political campaign activity prohibition is not intended to restrict free expression on political matters by leaders of churches or religious organizations speaking for themselves, as individuals. Nor are leaders prohibited from speaking about important issues of public policy. However, for their organizations to remain tax exempt under IRC section 501(c) (3), religious leaders cannot make partisan comments in official organization publications or at official church functions. To avoid potential attribution of their comments outside of church functions and publications, religious leaders who speak or write in their individual capacity are encouraged to clearly indicate that their comments are personal and not intended to represent the views of the organization.

IRS Pub. 1828 Tax Guide for Churches and Religious Org.

When preachers agreed to this covenant from hell years ago, they never thought that they would be so hamstrung that they wouldn’t even be able to cry out against men using the same restrooms with little girls. But God and the Devil seem to be the only one’s that know that we are in a gigantic spiritual chess game for keeps.

Where Does the Real Blame Lie?

It certainly does not lie with Pastor Aubrey Vaughan, who was the Pastor of the Unregistered Grace Baptist Church of Houston for many years on Telephone Rd which was what they called “Hell Street.” He fought the Devil and his crowd tooth and nail for over thirty years including the IRS who he whipped all the way back to Washington, D.C. Annise wouldn’t be the mayor of Houston if the pastor’s had followed his advice. But they didn’t. He was too radical for their smooth sermons. He was the lone voice when he stood against benefits for homosexuals, but the pastors wouldn’t stand with him then.

A lesbian is mayor of Houston because of Joel Osteen and his multi-thousand congregation, Ed Young and his mega Second Baptist Church, Mega Ist Baptist, and all of the other huge mega churches in Houston, sitting there raking in their millions while Houston goes to hell. Those preachers said not a word while Parker was running for office. And then in the final analysis it was the so called “Christians” of Houston who stayed home on election day, reading their little devotional and self-improvement books that they bought at the “Christian” book stores instead of going to the polls and voting against this wicked mayor and her cohorts.

By the way, that’s also the reason that we have the present resident of the White House.

The Truth About Halloween

By Robert McCurry – The Wake-Up Herald –

Excited Children masquerading as witches, ghosts, goblins, demons, and other grotesque characters skipping through the neighborhood knocking on doors chanting “trick or treat” while holding out a sack in which one is to drop a piece of candy or other goodies … the party at school, or church, or Sunday School where they bob for apples, tell fortunes, or go through “haunted houses”… decorations of jack-o’-lanterns, witches on brooms, and black cats with arched backs … It’s “Halloween”–one of the strangest days of the year.

Are Halloween activities really just the simple, innocent holiday fun most people believe them to be? Where did this holiday originate? Why is this holiday celebrated?

History provides the answers. Though it was the Roman Catholic Church who designated the October 31st date as All Hallows Eve, or “eve of the holy ones” day, in prelude to their November 1st All Saints’ Day, it was earlier pagan peoples who gave the annual holiday the sinister meaning and traditions it still holds.

“The American celebration rests upon Scottish and Irish folk customs which can be traced in direct line from pre-Christian times. Although Halloween has become a night of rollicking fun, superstitious spells, and eerie games which people take only half seriously, its beginnings were quite otherwise. The earliest Halloween celebrations were held by the Druids in honor of Samhain, lord of the dead, whose festival fell on November 1st.” 1

“It was a Druidic belief that on the eve of this festival, Saman [Samhain], lord of death, called together the wicked souls [spirits] that within the past 12 months had been condemned to inhabit the bodies of animals.” 2

“The Druids, an order of priests in ancient Gaul and Britain, believed that on Halloween, ghosts, spirits, fairies, witches, and elves came out to harm people. They thought the cat was sacred and believed that cats had once been human beings, but were changed as a punishment for evil deeds. From these Druidic beliefs come the present-day use of witches, ghosts, and cats in Halloween festivities.” 3

Halloween “was the night for the universal walking about of all sorts of spirits, fairies, and ghosts, all of whom had liberty on that night.” 4

The pagans believed that on one night of the year the souls of the dead returned to their original homes. “There was a prevailing belief among all nations that at death the souls of good men were taken possession of by good spirits and carried to paradise, but the souls of wicked men were left to wander in the space between the earth and moon, or consigned to the unseen world. These wandering spirits were in the habit of haunting the living … But there were means by which these ghosts might be exorcised.” 5

To exorcise these ghosts, that is, to free yourself from their supposed evil sway, you would have to set out food–give the demons a treat–and provide shelter for them during the night. If they were satisfied with your treat, it was believed they would leave you in peace. If food and shelter were not provided, or if they were not satisfied, these spirits, it was believed, would “trick” you by casting an evil spell on you and cause havoc.

TRICK OR TREAT

“The modern custom of ‘Trick-or-treat’ began in Ireland hundreds of years ago … A group of farmers went from house to house begging food for the village Halloween festivities in the name of their ancient gods. Good luck was promised to generous donors, and threats were made against those who would not give.” 6 Thus these ancient pagan traditions continue today as youngsters, masquerading as ghosts, skeletons, and demons go “trick-or-treating”–begging in a sense for food while promising to refrain from evil deeds.

OCTOBER 31

“It was the Celts who chose the date of October 31 as their New Year’s Eve and who originally intended it as a celebration of everything wicked, evil, and dead. Also during their celebration they would gather around a community bonfire and offer as sacrifice their animals, their crops, and sometime themselves. And wearing costumes made from the heads and skins of other animals, they would also tell one another’s fortunes for the coming year.” 7

“The celebration remained much the same after the Romans conquered the Celts around 43 A.D. The Romans did, however, add a ceremony honoring their goddess of fruit and trees, and thus the association with apples and the custom of bobbing for them.” 8

JACK-O’-LANTERN
The apparently harmless lighted pumpkin face or “Jack-O’-Lantern” is an ancient symbol of a damned soul. Jack-O’-Lanterns were named for a man called Jack, who could not enter heaven or hell. As a result, he was doomed to wander in darkness with his lantern until Judgment Day.” 9

“Fearful of spooks … folks began hollowing out turnips and pumpkins and placing lighted candles inside to scare evil spirits from the house.” 10

HALLOWEEN “CHRISTIANIZED”

Since Halloween is unmistakably pagan in its origin and practice, how did the professing church come to accept and keep such a day? Again history provides the answer.
Ever since the time of Constantine–who made Catholicism the state religion–the Roman emperors realized how essential it was to have a unified empire, where as many as possible would be of one mind. The civil and religious leaders saw how important it was for the sake of unity to allow only one religion within the Roman domain.

A stringent state policy was implemented to force all non-Christians to accept the state religion. The condition for “conversion,” of course, made it easy for the pagan population of Rome and elsewhere to “accept” ‘Christianity’. Since “acceptance” of ‘Christianity’ was made simple, refusal was made difficult. This plan resulted in large numbers of the heathen population within the empire to flock into the membership of the church. These people brought with them many pagan practices and celebrations, Halloween merely being one of them.

How could the church deal with this problem? The church realized that to excommunicate these pagans would only reduce the membership of the church. This they were unwilling to do. The church had also learned in past times that it was not possible to force the people into discarding all their heathen practices and adopting Roman ones.

There remained only one other way.

It was reasoned that if a pagan practice or festival could not be forbidden, let it be “Christianized.” Let the recently converted pagans keep certain of their heathen festivals, such as Halloween or All Souls’ Day–but label it “Christian.” Of course they were asked not to pray to their ancient pagan gods on this day. They would now use this day to commemorate the death of “saints.”

“In the A.D. 800’s, the [Catholic] church established All Saints Day on November 1st so that people could continue a festival they had celebrated before becoming Christians. The mass that was said on this day was called All Hallowmas. The evening before became known as All Hallow e’en or Halloween … It means hallowed or holy evening.” 11

“The celebration of Halloween is a survival of ancient pagan beliefs. When the early [Catholic] church was unable to stop pagan practices, it accepted them and gave them a religious tune.” 12

HALLOWEEN TODAY

Most of the ancient symbols and traditions of Halloween still exist today. Youngsters still dress in costumes and go trick-or-treating, begging in a sense, for food while promising to refrain from evil deeds. And, too, they still light their candles, although much smaller than a torch, and place them inside their pumpkins.

“It is the one night of the year in which a child experiences the emotion of fear, fantasy, and mystery.” 13

In advising on what to do on Halloween, The Good Housekeeping Book of Entertainment says: “Orange, black, and red, the devil’s colors, are the colors associated with Halloween, and this scheme should be carried out as far as possible … Have paper streamers and lanterns hanging from the ceiling, or if you would like to have something less usual, you could make a giant spider web with black and orange strings, or in narrow strips of crepe paper coming from the four corners of the room, complete with a large spider–one of the devil’s followers.” 14

INCONSISTENCY OF PROFESSING CHRISTIANS

Bible-believing Christians cringe and shudder at the thought of Satan worship and occult rites. But how many of these same people will dress their children as witches, ghosts, skeletons, or devils and send them out to “trick-or-treat”? How many smile approvingly at the church or Sunday school and youth organizations that have Halloween parties and sponsor “haunted house” activities?

Can any Christian give any scriptural–or even logical–reason for participation in, or approval of, that which is unmistakably associated with paganism, devil-worship, witchcraft, and Romanism?

GOD’S PEOPLE GOVERNED BY THE SCRIPTURES

The 18th chapter of the book of Deuteronomy, (vv 10-13) very explicitly forbids Christians to have anything to do with witchcraft, spiritism or the demonic. In verse 10 of that chapter we read:

“There shall not be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire (this has reference to the worship of the pagan god, Moloch, which was state worship), or that useth divination (a false and pagan counterpart of prophecy; the art or act of foretelling secret knowledge, especially of the future), or an observer of times (astrology), or an enchanter, (to cast under a spell; charm; enrapture; to chant [magic words]), or a witch (divinations in connection with the worship of idolatrous and demoniacal powers), or a charmer (a fabricator of material charms or amulets to be worn especially around the neck as a charm against evil or injury), or a consulter with evil spirits (an inquirer by a familiar spirit), or a wizard (a false prophet, especially a conjurer; one who summons a devil by oath, incantation or magic spell), or a necromancer (one who in one form or another seeks to find information by consulting the dead).”

“Thou shalt not learn to do after their abominations …” (Deuteronomy 17:9). Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I Am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 19:31).

It is obvious that the elements, symbols, and traditions of the Halloween observance with its emphasis upon goblins and demons, witches, and skeletons, ghosts, and apparitions rising from cemeteries constitute a dabbling with the very things which Scripture forbids to God’s people and an open invitation to demonic activity.

It is at this point that many will say, “But we don’t worship demons or Halloween. It doesn’t mean the same thing today as it did in the past. It’s now just a harmless, innocent time of fun for the children and the young people.”

Yet, history clearly shows that Halloween is unmistakably a “religious” (pagan and Roman) holiday. Religion is the adoration, obedience, and service rendered to the object of one’s worship. It presupposes profession, practice, or observance of whatever belief and practice–in this case Halloween–as required by some superior authority. It is indisputably clear that Halloween is not commanded or sanctioned by the Lord God–the true Christian’s Superior Authority–in the Scriptures.

“Abstain from ALL appearances of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5:22).

“And many that believed came and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men” (Acts 19:18,19).

“Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do ALL to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Wake-up, Pastors! Wake-Up, Christians!

Pharisee Christians

By Sartre – Global Gulag –

Artificial Christians are AWOL: apostate whores – orthodoxy lost. What does it means to be a believer? The most fundamental canon is to accept the Creator as Lord. Since this concept seems to evade the store bought social climbers who pretend to be religious, why not just settle this issue once and for all time.

The total disconnect, from simple logic, would have you accept that a Nation assembled upon the “free exercise thereof” of religion must ban the expression of belief in the Deity of creation, as a condition of a free society. By default this sophistry demands that the standard for the public government MUST be that of the non-believer. Pray tell – the atheist has become the converted idol – for the proclaimed secular humanism deus society. Common sense affirms that prohibition produces replacement. If God is taboo, the State commits the supreme sin of absolute pride.

If the highest law is denied, how can it be possible to have a valid rule of law passed by men! Which is to be obeyed? Lacking communal acknowledgment on the reality of God and that His laws for human conduct were revealed within the Ten Commandments, obligates honest rational citizens to concede that the basic schism is between those who believe and those who deny.

It would be one thing to base a government upon the principle that one cannot know for sure, and therefore requires a standard of agnosticism. But this is not the case. America has their share of skeptics and empiricists; however, it would be deceitful to claim that our heritage is one of cynicism. Abandoning worship of the almighty for a secular culture guarantees the reign of the Prince of Darkness. Confusing the issue with institutions of clergy, church sects or religious denominations totally avoids the central tenet. Is the source of moral and ethical law a function of court decree, arbitrary public sentiment or relative circumstance OR has all mankind been touched by the hand of the divine creator with the tablets that prescribe authentic behavior? It doesn’t get any more basic then the choice you will make. Your answer determines if our country has any common ground to continue as one nation. It’s an either – or – acceptance. No society can sustain a civic nihilism and preserve a private faith. The civil war that is being waged is a spiritual conflict. The cultural fallout is a symptom of the godless secularists intent to outlaw our founding beliefs.

DHS to intensify attacks on freedom oriented citizens

From the Examiner.com –

Within the last two weeks several tips came into the Examiner indicating pending dangers to certain groups of citizens. These tips led to a source who, speaking on condition of anonymity, alleges that just after the election a major initiative will be launched against citizens whose values are diametrically opposite to that of Barack Obama and the current Washington elitist leadership in Congress. According to the source, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will greatly intensify its attacks on freedom oriented citizens.

The source indicated that the those within DHS and the rest of the Obama Administration who support a massive crackdown on the liberties of citizens are ready to make a dramatic move once the midterm elections in November are over. These particular government employees, particularly those at the top levels, believe that Christians, Tea Party participants, and those who support the Constitution and oppose Obama and his “progressive” agenda are dangerous and need to be subjected to a purge.

This purge would be in the form of prosecution through the courts. The objective would be to silence their voices and remove them from society by tossing them into prison where they could spend years and a ton of money attempting to get out of jail and defend their reputations. The “progressives” in the administration and Congress believe that the lame duck period just after the November midterm elections is the time to move swiftly to get these things done. Obama doesn’t have to face reelection. And if the internal polling being done by both Democrats and Republicans is true, the Democrats will be forced into minority status in the Senate in addition to the House. Thus, in the two months after the election prior to the time when the new Congress is sworn in in January of 2015, a golden opportunity exists for the “progressive” elitist tyrants to make their move. After all, they have nothing to lose.

Although the tip concerning this information came within the last two weeks, the publication of it was on hold until more verification could be received. That verification came today in an article written by colleague David Codrea, who is the National Gun Rights Examiner.

Shortly after the election of Barack Obama, it became all too clear that DHS intended to lay the foundation for a massive purge of Christians and liberty oriented citizens. Internal memos were discovered that referred to these citizens as “potential homegrown terrorists.” The objective was to crank up the propaganda machine in an effort to malign, demonize, and ruin the reputations of otherwise good citizens so that eventually it would be easier to persecute and prosecute them without running too far afield of public opinion.

In 2012 the Examiner received at least one document from DHS that listed the various categories of citizens that would be deemed as “potential homegrown terrorists.” This document is one of the most important, but as you will see, it has been revised to include an apologetic to counteract the heavy criticism the report received. DHS used this report to compile its policy on “potential homegrown terrorists.”

But not once was Islamic extremists mentioned. Those whom DHS mentioned specifically is very telling — Ron Paul supporters, gun owners and gun rights activists, those who promote the Constitution as the final rule of law, U.S. war veterans returning home from overseas, those who support the right of Israel to exist, evangelical Christians and others who are pro-life and who believe the Bible and take it seriously, Tea Party activists, conservative voters who take to the streets to march or to demonstrate in opposition to high taxes, runaway government spending, Obamacare, and other programs of the “progressives” in the current administration. Michelle Malkin provided this report on the issue at the time.

Know Jesus or No Jesus? The Coming Persecution of Christians

By Dave Hodges – DCClothesline.com –

There is a war going on against Christians. For a long time the war has been covert and centered around issues such as nativity scenes at Christmas. More recently, the satanic influence which is beginning to dominate American public lives is becoming demonstrably open and aggressive and this spirit has invaded the sports world where so many young people look for role models…

We are witnessing the persecution of Christians through the principle of incrementalism. Hitler did the same. First, there was the public chastising of the Jews. Then they were denied employment and the right to publicly practice their religion. The worst began to happen.

Today in the United States, the abolishment of Christianity is underway. Through the DHS sponsored Clergy Response Team and making churches into IRS controlled tax exempt foundations, the message from the pulpit is being controlled. Now we are witnessing the marginalizing of Christians and the removal Christian practices from all public venues. Christian traditions are being erased. A famous quote was offered which helps frame these current events of persecution against Christians “wherever they burn books, in the end, they will burn human beings”. I would offer a variation of this theme, “where they erase religion, they will soon do the same to the followers of that religion”.

Any first year law school student will tell you that the 10 Commandments are the basis for our legal code. This is all about to change as well.

Are Christians Idiots?

From HigherLiberty.com –

When Christ spoke of the Kingdom there was a revolution going on in Judea and the world. The policies and practices of politicians and people had the world on a one way road to social and economic destruction. John the Baptist and Jesus were turning the world upside down. They were shaming the hypocrites who claimed to be following Moses but did not know him nor the God who sent him to free the people.

Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”…

Christians provided for one another in charity and did not participate in the free bread welfare of Rome as we see the Pharisees doing.4 The Pharisees had chosen Caesar’s ways and government as their benefactor. The Christians were not involved in the public affairs of the Pharisees. Christians were involved in public affairs of Christ working daily in the temple.5

The temple in Jerusalem, the same as those of Rome, was the center of their social welfare. With the baptism of John, Christ’s followers, who were eventually called Christians, had opted out of a social welfare system that had snared the people under the authority of Herod’s welfare state.6 Christians had another king, one Jesus, and were standing fast in the liberty of Christ. The persecution of Christians by public magistrates was often based on their refusal to participate in the temple welfare systems of Rome.

The word translated marvelled in Acts is “thaumazo” which is also translated in the Bible as “have in admiration” and “admire.” They were impressed and yet they did not like what they were hearing. Many modern Christians would not want to hear the truth of what the early church was doing either.

Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Police Arrest 28 Christians For Praying Privately

By Pamela Gellar – DCClothesline.com –

Dozens of Christians arrested at a prayer meeting in Saudi Arabia need America’s help, according to a key lawmaker who is pressing the State Department on their behalf.

Some 28 people were rounded up Friday by hard-line Islamists from the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the home of an Indian national in the eastern Saudi city of Khafji, and their current situation is unknown, according to human rights advocates.

“Saudi Arabia is continuing the religious cleansing that has always been its official policy,” Nina Shea, director of the Washington-based Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, told FoxNews.com. “It is the only nation state in the world with the official policy of banning all churches. This is enforced even though there are over 2 million Christian foreign workers in that country. Those victimized are typically poor, from Asian and African countries with weak governments.”
