Ten years ago, Annie Lobert founded “Hookers for Jesus,” an organization dedicated to helping women leave the abusive, demeaning prostitution industry.

In that time, she has been praised by press across the spectrum for her work, and even more for having the strength to leave the industry — despite financial, physical, and psychological threats and beatings.

Now, in her new book “Fallen,” Lobert talks in great detail about the childhood abuse and neglect that led her to become a prostitute — first by choice, then by force. Leaving little out, she explains how she became one of the most profitable prostitutes in Las Vegas over her 16 years in the industry, only to find herself bereft of money, friends, and family when things got hard.

After years of assaults by an ex-boyfriend and former pimp, Lobert went on to another abusive relationship, and watched her sister die of a genetic disorder. After nearly dying from cancer herself, Lobert became addicted to cocaine to help deal with the stress of helping her boyfriend launch a corporation. Even going back to prostitution couldn’t help that failing business.

Out of options, Lobert turned to Christ for the first time in more than a decade. Over several years, He opened her eyes to love, and care, and compassion – and eventually, to a new life that included a husband who encouraged her to marry as a virgin in Christ.

Annie Lobert: Hookers For Jesus is an outreach on the Las Vegas strip to sex trafficking victims and sex industry ladies that I started in 2005. So few people do that anymore…think, that is. It is so much easier to waste your time watching the boob tube where the talking heads tell you what to think, or perhaps sports programming, where the goal is to occupy your mind so that you don’t think at all. Obama’s “Christianity” –

Governor Scott Walker was recently asked if he believed the President is a Christian. The media went bonkers when he refused to express his views regarding Obama’s Christianity, yet Obama has spent a great deal of time telling us that ISIS isn’t Muslim. In fact, according to Obama, none of the terrorists are Muslim, Boko Haram isn’t Muslim, Al Qaeda isn’t Muslim, and neither are Al-Badr, Ansar Al-Islam, Hamas, or the scores of others listed here. However, we aren’t permitted to question Obama’s faith while he questions everybody else’s. Matthew 7:16 says, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

Rudy Guiliani and President Obama share the same views on most issues. Both are pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-gun, big-tent, big-government politicians. One happens to be a Catholic-Christian; the other appears to be a Muslim-Christian. In reality, neither of them holds values consistent with Christianity….

Jesus Cursed –

Did you know that Jesus cursed? That’s right, He cursed a lot. But today we confuse cursing with cussing. Many of the words that we consider “curse” words appear in the Bible. To cuss is “to profane” or use unholy words. To curse, is to project evil, harm, or danger upon another. Jesus didn’t cuss, but He certainly did a lot of cursing. The 2nd Commandment has nothing to do with cussing, but rather using the Name of God for an unholy purpose. Do people take the Lord’s name in vain when they calls themselves Christian yet don’t adhere to Biblical positions? Is that worse than cussing?

Jesus Called People Names –

Is calling people names a sin? If so, then does that make Jesus a sinner? He called people “vipers, hypocrites, whited sepulchers, a child of hell, fools, serpents…” If Jesus was all about love, why did He use such harsh language when speaking to “sinners?” If Jesus “loves the sinner but hates the sin”, why is it that He casts the sinner into the lake of fire instead of merely the sin? Souls go to hell, not sin….

ISIS To All Christians: ‘You Will Soon See An Ocean Of Blood For All The Nation Of The Cross’

ISIS sent out a “Coming Soon” documentary titled “Warning: Message Signed In Blood Coming Soon To ‘Nation Of The Cross’”. It will be as ISIS promised, showing a wave of Christian blood which it has spilt. It is quite horrifying.

This morning I noticed some western speculation as to what ISIS had in mind for this sinister surprise which makes it obvious that from the beach wave mixed in blood as to another slaughter of Christians.

Some social media in the west speculated that this has something to do with Denmark, for example:

“Speculation as to ‘nation of the cross’ spans from Denmark (flag with cross) to ‘community of Christendom’. This announcement came after the Denmark attacks yesterday, so is not a reference to yesterday’s attacks.” (Weasel Zippers)

Westerners care more about Charlie Hebdo, a liberal who mocked Christ portraying the Virgin Mary giving birth to a pig. But all throughout the Middle East, the speculation is quite different, the beach and the waves shaped red, a reference to the blood was a clear message to the Copts in Egypt, a people who are rarely cared for and to Egypt it is about the slaughter of the 21 Christian Copts who were dragged to a beach front in Libya dressed in orange jump suits. [And beheaded.] The picture shows from ISIS magazine Dabiq, a group of Copts bowing on a beach, which can be linked to the image of the new promotional video issued by ISIS.

….We all know that Zechariah 14 is about rescuing the Jews and converting them to Him, but Isaiah 19 should shock some folks and get us to ask, who and why is Christ coming for in Egypt:

“And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of Hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.” (Isaiah 19:20)

Here we have the “Mighty One” is the Messiah who fights on the day of the Lord to fight the oppressors. Here, see for yourself your brothers and sisters in Egypt suffering from the oppressors and calling for Jesus to come down and save them:

And where do we see such faith like this? Where do we see multitudes of Christians taking to the streets when there are 90% Muslims and in the face of such a massive threat the Copt stands for Christ, yet here, we fear a handful of bickering Muslims….

Chaplain Ordered to Cover Christian Symbols In VA Chapel

TRUTH!

According to the website for the Oscar G Johnson Medical Center Veterans Administration hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the chapel is described as “non-denominational,” although weekly Protestant and Catholic services are scheduled there “on a regular basis.” The hospital was told that Christian symbols, statues and religious items inside the chapel were no longer permitted. This according to a June 3, 2014, article by Christianity Today.

The article said that the chapel “was found in non-compliance with a 2008 federal regulation that mandates that the house of worship be nonsectarian.” In order to comply with the regulation statues, crucifix and an altar “were encircled with a curtain at the Iron Mountain chapel after an inspection by the National Chaplain Center discovered the unauthorized items. ”

[A witness reported]”I went to the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain today on business. While there I stopped at the Chapel and found pinky-purple curtains with mesh at the top, covering the altar. (You know the type. They use them between sick patients in the hospital). I stopped in my tracks, shocked at what I saw. I peeked behind the curtain, and found what used to be the welcoming part of the chapel, the Cross, a picture of Jesus, and other Christian icons familiar to the majority of Americans. I found Chaplain Bob Mueller, to ask what the meaning was of this change. This is what he told me. ‘A couple of months ago, an order came down from Washington DC to cover all things associated with Christianity in the VA. Their solution is to cover everything in all the VA Chapels across the country.’ Chaplain Bob went on to say, ‘A few weeks ago an official from the Madison VA came down here to tell me to “stop talking about Jesus, and to stop reading Scripture out loud.” Chaplain Bob also said that the rest of the Obama plan is to send more curtains to cover the rest of the stained glass windows, because there are Christian symbols on the stained glass. These photos reveal future plans by the White House. To use the same phrase President Obama so “eloquently” used concerning other matters at the VA, ‘I’m mad as hell…’ As Americans, we need to stand together to stop this insanity.”

The American Church Has Some Big Problems

That the American Church has problems is no surprise. Critics of the Church, many of whom have never actually taken an active part, have hurled pot shots at the Church since its inception. Churches are led and comprised of sinful, fallen people. Accordingly, there will be imperfections, shortcomings, failures, etc. Name an institution managed by people that does not have the same pitfalls.

That said, the current Church in America not only has problems, it has BIG problems. I’m talking about problems that are so huge they threaten the very survival of not only the Church itself, but of our nation, as well.

During the Twentieth Century, liberalism pretty much killed America’s mainstream denominational churches; and legalism did the same thing to America’s fundamentalist conservative churches.

In mainstream denominational churches, the rejection of the veracity of the Scriptures, the repudiation of essential Biblical doctrines, and the reception of liberal social agendas sent people by the millions fleeing these fellowships. Virtually every mainline denomination has been losing membership for decades.

For example, it is one thing for the state to grovel before politically correct ideology and embrace such moral deviances as homosexual marriage. To begin with, the state has no rightful place in sanctioning, defining, or legislating marriage at all. Marriage was never a state matter. It is a sacred matter. Our Creator has already sanctioned and defined marriage. What the state does or doesn’t do is irrelevant. As with most issues involving faith, the best thing civil government can do is butt out. But for the Church to embrace homosexual marriage is another matter altogether. No Christian who has even a rudimentary understanding of the Biblical and Natural laws regarding marriage could maintain fellowship with a church or denomination that would surrender to the amoral machinations of a degraded society. And that is just one issue that has caused millions of believers to flee America’s mainline churches and denominations.

For fundamentalist conservative churches, legalism has had the same effect as liberalism among mainline churches: it has pretty much killed them. During the last half of the Twentieth Century, fundamentalist conservative churches exploded in growth. A few decades ago, the largest churches and Sunday Schools in America were fundamentalist. But, just as mainstream churches succumbed to liberalism, fundamentalist churches succumbed to legalism. As the Scripture notes, “the letter killeth,” and, indeed, it has pretty much destroyed America’s fundamentalist churches. In fact, as a movement, it HAS destroyed them.

Accordingly, going into the Twenty First Century, these two cancers were already major problems within the American Church. But the problems that have wormed their way into the Church during the first decade and a half of the Twenty First Century have grown in both intensity and pervasiveness to the point that only a miracle from Heaven can avert impending disaster.

….The Result of Redemption Being to Go Out:

God saved the Israelites through the Passover lamb. When the messenger of God went forth to kill the firstborn in the land of Egypt, the angel of death passed over the doors which had the blood upon them. If there was no blood on the door, the firstborn of that house was killed. It had nothing to do with whether the door was good or bad, whether there was anything special about the lintel or the side posts, whether there was anything good about that family, or whether the firstborn child honored his parents. The issue was whether there was any blood. Whether or not you will perish does not depend on your family’s status or your behavior; it depends on whether you have the blood. The basic factor for salvation is the blood; this has nothing to do with us.

We who are saved by grace are redeemed by the blood. But please remember that immediately after being redeemed by the blood, we must move and go out. Do not think that we can buy a house and dwell in Egypt after we are redeemed by the blood. Those who are redeemed by the blood must set out that very night. The lamb was slaughtered before midnight, and the blood was sprinkled with hyssop. They ate their meal quickly, with their loins girded and their staff in their hands, because they had to leave immediately.

The first result of redemption is separation, that is, departure, a going out. God never redeems a person and leaves him in the old position to continue living in the world. There is absolutely no such thing. Once a person is born again, saved, he must take up his staff and set out. Once the angel of destruction has done his work of separating the saved from the perishing, the saved ones must leave. Once you have been separated by the smiting angel, you have to pack up and move out of Egypt.

A staff is for walking. No one holds a staff to lie down in bed. The staff is not a pillow; it is for walking. All those who are redeemed, old or young, must take their staff and leave the same night. As soon as you are redeemed by the blood, you become a sojourner and a pilgrim on the earth; you have to go out of Egypt and be separated from the world immediately. You must not continue to live there.

There was a sister who taught a class in a children’s meeting. Once she was telling the story of Lazarus and the rich man. She asked the children, “Do you want to be Lazarus or the rich man? The rich man enjoys himself in this age and suffers in the next. Lazarus suffers today and enjoys himself later. Which would you choose to be?” An eight-year-old girl stood up and said, “While I am alive, I want to be the rich man, but when I die, I want to be Lazarus.” Many people are like this. When they need salvation, they trust in the blood of the Lamb; but after they are saved by the blood, they settle down firmly in Egypt. They think that they can have the best of both sides….

Five Bible Verses ‘Constantly Used Out of Context’?

It’s been claimed that many Christians regularly misuse the wildly popular Bible verse Philippians 4:13, but are there other tidbits of scripture that are similarly being touted in an improper context?

Thomas Turner, an author and program manager at the International Justice Mission, penned a recent blog post for Relevant Magazine in which he highlighted Philippians 4:13 along with four other verses that he said are “constantly used out of context.”

“When we open our Bibles, we read words that are thousands of years old with twenty-first century eyes. We read words literally written in stone tablets on tablets made of plastic and metal,” Turner wrote. “With such a gap in time comes a context problem. Basically, when we open our Bibles, we are faced with a problem: We don’t know what that culture and time in history was like, so we often take things the wrong way.”

He noted that this is a problem for popular uses of Jeremiah 29:11, Luke 4:18-19, Matthew 5:18, Luke 6:20 and Philippians 4:13.

Turner argued that many people miss the communal aspect inherent in Jeremiah 29:11, which reads, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Rather than recognizing that this verse is about God speaking to the “whole people of God, Israel and the church,” Turner said that some Christians internalize it and assume that it’s God’s personal address to each and every individual.

“The context does not negate that fact that God wants us to put on the armor of God by living virtuous lives of spiritual discipline or that the God who made us has a plan for us,” he wrote. “What the context of passages like Jeremiah 29 or Ephesians 6 implore us to do, as the people of God, is to be in this together. For God works in this world primarily through the Holy Spirit and the Body of Christ.”

And then there’s Luke 4:18-19, which reads, “He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives.” Turner said that Christians tend to spiritualize captivity, taking for granted the fact that physical freedom doesn’t exist for all.

Jesus, he said, was speaking about both material and spiritual healing.

“These people lived in a country where the provincial ruler could order every baby boy under two years of age slaughtered and no one stopped it,” he explained of those living under Roman rule to whom Jesus was talking. “This is often missed on us who take for granted physical freedom.”

Turner continued, “[Jesus] saves us body and soul, not one or the other. He wants to save us from our physical captivity and our spiritual captivity. That’s why he healed people and he forgave their sins.”

Obama At National Prayer Breakfast: ’People Committed Terrible Deeds In The Name of Christ’

At the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama reminded attendees that violence rooted in religion isn’t exclusive to Islam, but has been carried out by Christians as well.

Obama said that even though religion is a source for good around the world, there will always be people willing to “hijack religion for their own murderous ends.”

“Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” Obama said. “In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.”

Obama also denounced Islamic State terrorists for professing to stand up for Islam when they were actually “betraying it.”

◾In Montana, Canyon Ferry Road Baptist Church faced election law charges after a volunteer passed out petitions to place a marriage amendment on the Montana ballot.
◾In Arizona, Pastor Michael Salman of Harvest Christian Fellowship has been jailed for having Church services in his home.
◾In Arizona, Gilbert city officials ordered Oasis of Truth Church to stop meeting or holding Bible studies in its pastor’s private home.
◾Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed SB 1064, ‘Religious Freedom Act’ meant to protect Christian corporations from restrictive, ‘Gender Identity Laws’.
◾Over 32 States have adopted anti-discriminatory, “Gender Identity Laws” that restrict incorporations from discriminating against LGBTQ individuals in any form (this includes most 501c3 Churches).
◾California Democratic State Senator, Ricardo Lara introduced SB 323 in an attempt to legally force 501c3 Churches into accepting homosexuals as full members….

America was once known as “the land of the free and the home of the brave”. Today, we are neither.

In fact, it is the loss of bravery that has led to our loss of freedom. It’s hard to find anyone who is willing stand up for anything anymore…except for the god-haters. They are boldly standing up all over the stinkin’ place for their demented agenda.

Proverbs tell us that “the righteous are as bold as lions.” Evidently we are not very righteous anymore. Christians have become the easiest pushovers in America…especially our pastors. They will neither do, nor will they allow anything that might rock the boat. I guess that is because they think the church is either a hospital ship or a cruise ship, while the brave men who built this country saw the church as a battleship.

Oh for the good old days when men were brave and America was free.

Has there ever been a time in American history when moral leadership was so lacking?

I am reminded of what George Washington said in his Farewell Address:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity…And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

It is the lack of morality that has led to the demise of this nation. No foreign foe was ever capable of destroying this nation, but we have crumbled from within. “Those great pillars”, as Washington stated, have crumbled because we no longer have men who will boldly proclaim the Truth.

Why would we ever expect a politician to stand up for Truth when the men in the pulpit are afraid to do so? Why should we expect politicians to fight to end abortion when the pastors won’t?

“Oh but my pastor speaks out all the time against what is happening in this nation,” I had a woman tell me the other day. “That’s great,” I responded. “But does he ever do anything besides talk about it? Does he ever get his name in the paper for his public stand against the sin ravaging this nation? Do you ever see him out in the streets fighting against the decadence that is destroying the pillars of society? Do you ever see him at school board meetings raising hell with the debauchery and lies being taught to our children? Is there any specific group of citizens that hate him?”

Truth is dangerous. Fighting for it can get dicey. You can get yourself in a whole lot of trouble when you speak truth. Most aren’t willing to go there. Most won’t take the risk. They have convinced themselves that preaching is fighting.

Well, talk is cheap. Preaching ain’t fighting. Flapping one’s jowls at the already converted gives one a false sense of accomplishment, yet signifies nothing.

I am reminded of a story I once heard about President Lincoln. Although my details may be a bit sketchy, the story goes something like this:

It seems that one of President Lincoln’s trusted friends was delivering a message at a local church, and President Lincoln, out of respect for his friend, sneaked in the back just as the sermon was about to begin. The President stayed until the message was concluded and slipped out the same way he entered.

The next morning he had the opportunity to have breakfast with his friend, and the ‘preacher’ inquired about Lincoln’s critique of his sermon. “It was well delivered and filled with enthusiasm,” the President responded. “But it was a failure because not once did you ask your audience to do something great!”

It is time for our pastors to ‘do something great’.

Christianity is a lifestyle, not a religion. It is most alive when striving for the souls of men. The outward-living of the Gospel is the most dangerous act that a Christian man can undertake.

Millions have died because of their stand. Millions more will. The current crop of Christian leaders are an affront to the Christ they claim to serve. Our spiritual DNA speaks of the exploits of the unnamed heroes of Hebrews 11, which describes such folks as those “of whom the world was not worthy.”

Can you name ONE ‘man of God’ on the national stage who doesn’t give a rat’s behind about what people think of him? Can you give me one big-name Christian leader who is clearly articulating what is happening to the pillars of religion and morality in this nation?

Over 100 million people will soon have a satanic ritual pumped right into their homes as satan goes mainstream. Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show will be nothing short of a satanic ritual. Has your pastor warned you of this so that you can be aware while attending your church’s Super Bowl party? WATCH.

Can you name ONE ‘religious leader’ who will tell the world that homosexuality is a moral perversion, or will declare that Islam is a lie, and that the followers of the “religion of peace” are on a fast-track to a virgin-less hell, or openly declare that abortion is murder and that those who participate in that sin are spitting in the face of God, or declare that the actions of the current resident of the White House are some of the most un-American, un-Christian fruit in the history of this nation?

Won’t someone openly defy the thievery of the IRS and the Federal Reserve, or declare the obvious fraud of 911, or fight against the government subsidy of sin, or openly and boldly declare that the idea of Grace before repentance can be found nowhere in the Holy Word?

Oh there are thousands ‘preaching,’ but there are shamefully few who are actually willing to do anything. Our nation sits on the precipice. Unthinkable disaster lies just around the corner.

The State is godless. The church is most faithful when it fights against the rules and edicts of godless government. Every problem facing this nation is a moral problem. Every one. Yet not one pastor in 10,000 will stand up and be counted.

Remember this: Satan never preaches about Heaven…he preaches the here and now. He tells you that God is love. Get all you can now. Be happy. Live a full life. Don’t judge anyone. Most of America’s pastors are preaching this same message.

Hell is the church’s business. That is why Jesus said that we are to be salt…and not sugar. Judgment, sin, and personal and collective morality is the church’s business…and business should be booming.

Jesus told us a lot of things. Friendship with the world is enmity with God. Take up your cross and follow me. The wicked shall be turned into hell along with all the nations that forget God. He who loves his life shall lose it…

We Christians simply love ourselves too much. Speech is never free. Just ask John the Baptist. Ask his cousin, The Christ. Their willingness to exercise their freedom cost them their lives.

Feeding Sheep or Amusing Goats?

An evil is in the professed camp of the Lord, so gross in its impudence, that the most shortsighted can hardly fail to notice it during the past few years. It has developed at an abnormal rate, even for evil. It has worked like leaven until the whole lump ferments. The devil has seldom done a cleverer thing than hinting to the church that part of their mission is to provide entertainment for the people, with a view to winning them.

From speaking out as the Puritans did, the church has gradually toned down her testimony, then winked at and excused the frivolities of the day. Then she tolerated them in her borders. Now she has adopted them under the plea of reaching the masses.

My first contention is that providing amusement for the people is nowhere spoken of in the Scriptures as a function of the church. If it is a Christian work, why did not Christ speak of it? “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). That is clear enough. So it would have been if He had added, “and provide amusement for those who do not relish the gospel.” No such words, however, are to be found. It did not seem to occur to him.

Then again, “He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers .., for the work of the ministry” (Eph. 4:11-12). Where do entertainers come in? The Holy Spirit is silent concerning them. Were the prophets persecuted because they amused the people or because they refused? The concert has no martyr roll.

Again, providing amusement is in direct antagonism to the teaching and life of Christ and all his apostles. What was the attitude of the church to the world? Ye are the salt” (Matt. 5:13), not the sugar candy—something the world will spit out not swallow. Short and sharp was the utterance, “Let the dead bury their dead” (Matt. 8:22) He was in awful earnestness.

Had Christ introduced more of the bright and pleasant elements into his mission, he would have been more popular when they went back, because of the searching nature of His teaching. I do not hear him say, “Run after these people Peter and tell them we will have a different style of service tomorrow, something short and attractive with little preaching. We will have a pleasant evening for the people. Tell them they will be sure to enjoy it. Be quick Peter, we must get the people somehow.” Jesus pitied sinners, sighed and wept over them, but never sought to amuse them.

In vain will the Epistles be searched to find any trace of this gospel of amusement! Their message is, “Come out, keep out, keep clean out!” Anything approaching fooling is conspicuous by its absence. They had boundless confidence in the gospel and employed no other weapon.

After Peter and John were locked up for preaching, the church had a prayer meeting but they did not pray, “Lord grant unto thy servants that by a wise and discriminating use of innocent recreation we may show these people how happy we are.” If they ceased not from preaching Christ, they had not time for arranging entertainments. Scattered by persecution, they went everywhere preaching the gospel. They turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). That is the only difference! Lord, clear the church of all the rot and rubbish the devil has imposed on her, and bring us back to apostolic methods.

Lastly, the mission of amusement fails to affect the end desired. It works havoc among young converts. Let the careless and scoffers, who thank God because the church met them halfway, speak and testify. Let the heavy laden who found peace through the concert not keep silent! Let the drunkard to whom the dramatic entertainment has been God’s link in the chain of the conversion, stand up! There are none to answer. The mission of amusement produces no converts. The need of the hour for today’s ministry is believing scholarship joined with earnest spirituality, the one springing from the other as fruit from the root. The need is biblical doctrine, so understood and felt, that it sets men on fire.

Liberty Church Project

Last year, I launched the Liberty Church Project. For several years, patriot Christians around the country had corresponded with me about their frustration with not being able to find a patriot pastor or liberty church in their area. Like me, these folks have grown weary with establishment 501(c)(3) churches that refuse to take a stand–and they are desperate to find a patriot church and pastor.

The two biggest reasons why pastors and churches have become either silent and submissive serfs or, in some cases, shills for government propaganda are the egregious misinterpretation of Romans 13 and the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization status under which most churches operate. The result is an American church that, for all intents and purposes, is completely incapable of being the “salt” and “light” for our country. These squeamish and compliant churches have left our nation virtually void of moral and spiritual leadership.

As I recently noted in this column: True Christianity has never been associated with, supported by, or underneath Caesar’s (civil government’s) auspices or benevolence. For most of the 2,000+ years of Church history, true believers met in non-state-sanctioned or even underground churches and fellowships. In fact, the Early Church was birthed in a baptism of persecution from both the civil government (Rome) and established religion (Judaism) at the time. Not until the unholy union of the Church and State under Theodosius I (almost 400 years after Christ) did Christians accept official sanction from government. And for many centuries to follow, the official merger of Church and State led to the persecutions and deaths of untold thousands of believers deemed heretics and outlaws because their religious beliefs contradicted those of the official state-sanctioned church.

Even in early America, state-approved denominations and churches were guilty of horrific persecutions against independent-minded Christians who refused to submit to the doctrines and liturgies of state-sanctioned churches. These state-church persecutions ultimately led Roger Williams to found the colony of Rhode Island and John Leland to convince James Madison that religious liberty must be the first in our Constitution’s Bill of Rights.

After the acceptance of our Bill of Rights, America’s churches enjoyed complete independent status, being answerable only to their Creator and their own conscience. All of that changed in 1954 when then-Senator Lyndon Johnson (D-Texas) successfully introduced the Johnson Amendment to the code of the Internal Revenue Service: the now-infamous 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization status for churches. This designation made churches a creature of the state–answerable to the direct dictates of government–even regarding speech and activity.

By accepting 501(c)(3) status, America’s churches have effectively become state-licensed or state-sanctioned organizations. In much the same way that churches in Communist China risk vindictive state sanctions for not complying with state control, so, too, churches in the United States risk vindictive IRS sanctions for not complying with state control.

What is more than interesting is the comparison between the churches in China and the churches in America. In China, Christianity is growing exponentially. In fact, there are now more Christians in China than there are communists. Please carefully read this report:

“Though the Chinese Communist Party is the largest explicitly atheist organization in the world, with 85 million official members, it is now overshadowed by an estimated 100 million Christians in China. It is no wonder Beijing is nervous and authorities are cracking down on Christian groups.

“Christianity is growing so fast in China that some predict that it will be the most Christian nation in the world in only another 15 years. By far, the greatest growth is coming outside the official state-sanctioned churches, which are rightly considered subservient to the Communist Party. Numbers are increasing, rather, in unofficial Protestant ‘house churches’ and in the underground Catholic church.”

Did you get that? Let me repeat it: “By far, the greatest growth is coming OUTSIDE [emphasis added] the official state-sanctioned churches, which are rightly considered subservient to the Communist Party [state]. Numbers are increasing, rather, in UNOFFICIAL [emphasis added] Protestant ‘house churches’ and in the UNDERGROUND [emphasis added] Catholic church.”

But what do we see happening in the United States? Christianity is waning BIG TIME. On the whole, churches are in steep decline. For the most part, only the entertainment-oriented, circus variety churches are growing. The numbers of Americans professing Christianity in general and expressing loyalty to a specific church or denomination are at historic lows. And the trend for 2015 and beyond is more of the same.

So, what is the difference? Why is Christianity proliferating in China and declining in America? China has an openly atheistic government. For all intents and purposes, the government in Washington, D.C., is equally atheistic. The federal government in D.C. is responsible for virtually every single attack against the expression of the Christian faith at every level of society. It is the federal government that attacks Christian expression in our local public schools. It is the federal government that attacks Christian expression in local governing bodies. It is the federal government that has all but permanently dismantled the expression of Christianity throughout our country’s public institutions. But so does the government in Beijing. Yet, in China, the Church is mushrooming, while in America, the Church is dying. What’s the difference?

The difference is, in China, Christians understand that to be loyal to Christ, they MUST NOT SUBMIT to state-sanction or license. And they are willing to defy Beijing authorities in order to be faithful to that conviction. However, in America, pastors and churches insist that they MUST SUBMIT to state control–even using Romans 13 to justify this preposterous position. Bottom line: state-sanctioned churches in America are withering, while non-state-sanctioned churches in China are mushrooming. There is no doubt that the trend in both countries will continue into and beyond 2015.

Until America’s pastors and churches “see the light” and consciously withdraw themselves from Caesar’s grasp (at whatever cost), Christianity in this country will continue to evaporate.

It was you who said that NASA’s “foremost mission” was an outreach to Muslim
communities.

It was you who as an Illinois Senator were the ONLY individual who would speak in favor of infanticide.

It was you who was the first President not to give a Christmas Greeting from the White House, and went so far as to hang photos of Chairman Mao on the White House tree.

It was you who curtailed the military tribunals of all Islamic terrorists.

It was you who funneled $900 Million in U.S. taxpayer dollars to Hamas.

It was you who ordered the USPS to honor the MUSLIM holiday with a new commemorative stamp.

It was you who directed our UK Embassy to conduct outreach to help “empower” the British Muslim community.

It was you who embraced the fanatical Muslim Brotherhood in your quest to overthrow the Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak.

It was you who funded mandatory Arabic language and culture studies in grammar schools across our country.

It is you who follows the Muslim custom of not wearing any form of jewelry during Ramadan.

It is you who departs for Hawaii over the Christmas season so as to avoid past criticism for NOT participating in seasonal White House religious events.

It was you who was un-characteristically quick to join the chorus of the Muslim Brotherhood to depose Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, formerly America’s strongest ally in North Africa; but, remain muted in your non-response to the Brotherhood led slaughter of Egyptian Christians.

It was you who appointed as your chief adviser, Valerie Jarrett , who is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, an off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Franklin Graham: America’s ‘Culture of Death’: ‘Sinful, Godless Worldview Rejects Christ’

Reverend Franklin Graham, son of world renowned evangelical preacher Billy Graham, said that America is increasingly embracing a “culture of death” that echoes what has occurred in Europe, and which stems from a “sinful, godless worldview that rejects Christ.”

A further problem in America, he added, is that “Christianity is constantly under siege from the halls of government and education, which seek to suppress any public expressions of faith.”

“In places like Europe, where Christianity has been in decline as the deceptive forces of secularism and materialism have spread across the continent, it’s not surprising to find the practice of euthanasia so entrenched,” said Rev. Graham in a commentary for the January issue of Decision magazine. “Earlier this year, Belgium became the first country in the world to allow child euthanasia with no age limit.”

“I’m concerned that America is not far behind,” said Rev. Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. “The euthanasia movement—disguised now as ‘death with dignity’—is gaining ground in a number of states. And for every 1,000 live births in the United States, 219 pregnancies end with a murdered child, through abortion.”

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that this rise in the culture of death in our own country coincides with the embrace of an immoral, sinful, godless worldview that rejects Christ,” he said. “Christianity is constantly under siege from the halls of government and education, which seek to suppress any public expressions of faith.”

In addition to the push for euthanasia — the deliberate murder of the terminally sick, handicapped, elderly, or mentally ill – Reverend Graham noted that the social and entertainment culture seems fixated on death and gore.

Football used to be the dominant choice on television on Sunday evenings in the fall and winter but today, for example, 17 million people skipped the football game to watch the season premiere of The Walking Dead, a series about zombies (the walking dead) hunting and eating people.

A few weeks after that premiere on Oct. 12, “nearly 15 million people turned in to yet another episode, easily surpassing that night’s matchup” between the Broncos and the Chiefs, said Rev. Graham.

“That program is just one of numerous television programs that have garnered tremendous followings by fixating on gore and death,” he said. “At least half a dozen prime time shows are strangely enamored and captivated by it. These shows, when combined with hugely popular video games like Mortal Kombat, demonstrate how obsessed with death our culture has become.”

Westboro Baptist Church protesters sent fleeing NBA game

Westboro Baptist Church protesters were likely in for more than they bargained for on Saturday when their planned picket outside of a Portland Trail Blazers game was met by a massive group of boisterous counter-protesters.

After about 20 members of the infamous anti-gay church arrived at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, to lambaste the team’s support for same-sex marriage, hundreds of their opponents were already on site ready to greet them, according to the Oregonian.

The two sides unsurprisingly clashed, with the situation seeming tense at moments; one counter protester reportedly tried to grab one of Westboro’s placards and others screamed at the church members, telling them to “get out.”

Video footage purporting to capture the incident shows people following church members back to their vehicle, with countless protesters surrounding the van and screaming as Westboro members attempted to drive away.

Westboro had reportedly intended to protest for 75 minutes, but only stayed on site for about 20 minutes before leaving due to the pushback, with KOIN-TV reporting that the counterinitiative “overwhelmed” the anti-gay protesters.

The church had announced its plans to protest at the Trail Blazers game in a press release on its website earlier this month, citing the NBA team’s open endorsement of gay marriage last year as its main reason for picketing.

Reaping the Whirlwind With Charlie Hebdo

A handful of Muslims brutally murdered some French cartoonists for blaspheming their holy man. Have we learned something new from this?

Yes, it turns out Muslims (well, the fundamentalist types, not many, but more than you’d think, although not the majority, but a significant number, in no way “all,” but in some sense “all”) don’t believe in free speech, although we Westerners know that God wrote “free speech” on tablets of stone, and emblazoned a desire for it onto all human hearts. And free speech is, of course, the cornerstone of Western society (whatever that now is). Ergo, the Muslims (some, not all, but a lot, though not too many) are attempting to destroy Western society, blasting away at the very foundation by silencing “journalists.”

With that in mind, it is not enough for us to denounce the evil that is the coldblooded murder of mortal men, no matter what their line of work, by Muslim terrorists. No, the nature of the crime behooves us to identify with the pornographers at the now-understaffed French smut magazine Charlie Hebdo. Conservatives naturally begin with the caveat that we may find some of the products of their free speech—the ones that depict incest among the Holy Trinity, for example, an image I refuse to insert here—to be distasteful. (The pornographic depictions of Muhammad, on the other hand, we may qualify as “insults real or perceived.”) Yet even if you happen to find some of the journalistic enterprise of Charlie Hebdo to be distasteful, you must nonetheless stand with Charlie Hebdo and say “I am Charlie Hebdo” in French, or at least “you can and should be in solidarity with those dead journalists . . .”

Ultimately, we are being told that the Charlie Hebdo massacre teaches us the vital importance of pornographic insults, both to the Muslim god and to ours. Celebrating shockingly dirty, blasphemous magazines is our way of standing fast in the liberty wherewith the Enlightenment has made us free. How can we not identify personally with French cartoonists who depicted our Savior as a ravening sodomizer of His (and our) Heavenly Father? To do otherwise would be to undercut the very foundation of a free society, would it not? (One pauses to reflect on what it was that motivated David to take up his sling.)

….T.S. Eliot, in Notes Towards the Definition of Culture, asks “whether any culture could come into being, or maintain itself, without a religious basis.” Our civilization has rejected Christianity and now finds such things as “blasphemous or offensive speech” to be sacred. This is the illogical ideology of Western liberalism. Today, the false religion of Western liberalism is clashing with another false religion called Islam, because their people wish to occupy the same spaces. Neither is tolerant of the other, and both are intolerant of Christianity. One has Pussy Riot to desecrate churches, and the other has imams who preach murder in the name of Allah. But Western liberalism is not only a false- but a pseudo-religion. Its platitudes derive not from divine revelations real or imagined but from denatured Christian morality. No culture can “maintain itself” on the basis of Western liberalism. Instead, the very ideology that demands abstract “free speech” with no divine revelation, even vestigially, to restrain it is the same ideology that cannot say no to Muslim invaders who wish to kill the purveyors of the sickest incarnations of “free speech.” We have sown the wind, and now we are reaping the whirlwind.

Today’s Charlie Hebdo episode is yesterday’s The People Vs. Larry Flynt, Western liberalism’s celebration of transcendent porn for freedom’s sake. In response to that film and its message, National Review’s Jonah Goldberg presciently wrote that

The argument from supposedly liberty-loving liberals goes like this: We protect “extreme” and unpopular speech because if that is safe, they’ll never get to our core liberties. If they can ban trash, argue the slippery-slopers, what’s to stop them from banning criticism of politicians?

Goldberg also said that “the notion that smut is the canary in the coal mine of our liberties is a profoundly asinine and dangerous myth, and it may be costing us the things that really matter.”

I couldn’t agree more. And yet, unfortunately, we are now getting the same argument from liberty-loving conservatives. Out of the dankest clap-ridden cesspool of the Playboy Mansion’s grotto has crawled a dogma of conservative ideology. In this ideology, to refuse to celebrate the “journalism” of Charlie Hebdo is to suggest that its staff deserved to die. That, of course, is absurd. In addition to the Muslim killers, what really deserves to die is the liberal notion that free speech is guaranteed by unfettered obscenity.

10 Signs Your Church Has Been Secularized

The Bible teaches that the church is supposed to influence the world as salt and light (Matt. 5:13-16), but instead the church has often been influenced by the world. Ezekiel 22:26 sends a stern rebuke to believers who make no distinction between that which is common and that which is holy (by common we mean worldly things and values) in this article the word secular refers to worldly rather than holy and set apart for God’s purposes:

Truly any congregation that has no distinction from the world is close to extinction! The reason so many evangelical churches have grown so rapidly is not necessarily because of a true spiritual revival but because of cultural accommodation. The following are 10 signs your church has been secularized:

1) They preach only what is popular and avoid what is culturally controversial.

Often secularized pastors stay away from preaching on the standards of biblical morality so as to stay in the societal mainstream and avoid offending visitors. The result is a membership that only hears a partial gospel without the power to renew minds which leaves them as secular saints….

8) The congregation espouses a culture of entertainment more than biblical discipleship.

When the primary objective of a congregation is to attract crowds on Sunday by giving them an “experience” rather than making committed disciples, then they have espoused a culture of entertainment and have been secularized.

9) The congregation espouses a culture of opulent greed and narcissism instead of sacrifice and giving.

If the preaching appeals to the narcissistic desire of using faith for personal affluence more than the biblical call to surrender and sacrifice all for the Lord, then that congregation has been secularized.

10) If Jesus is only presented as a personal Savior rather than Lord of all.

When folks only want Jesus to save them without transforming them, they have been secularized. When Jesus is continually presented in a church only as a personal Savior without the injunction for all people to surrender to His Lordship, then that congregation is focused on individual salvation more than on the glory of God. Secular humanism is all about centering life upon the needs and desires of autonomous humanity without any concern or submission to the Creator God.

Lone Wolf Christianity

There’s never been a time when the necessity of church and fellowship has been called into question as much as today. I passed by a table of books one day and saw a title that struck me as odd. The title seemed to insinuate that there was a way to follow Christ without ever meeting together with the church body. To be fair, I haven’t read the book so I could very well have misunderstood it. But I have encountered this attitude many times in social media and in person. The attitude of disillusionment with “established” religion and a kind of contempt towards formalized worship. The mantra is everywhere: “Christianity is a relationship, not a religion.”

True… but it is a relationship that includes a religion. And part of this religion is meeting together with a body of believers, sitting under gospel preaching, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. These core things shouldn’t be replaced or seen as unnecessary.

Yes, many churches have been disappointing. There have been schisms, scandals, frauds and embarrassments. But the answer is not to swing to the opposite end of the spectrum, reject church life altogether and adopt a “lone wolf” Christianity. Not only is this completely against scripture (Hebrews 10:24-25), but also it is detrimental to a healthy walk with Christ. When we’re walking this path alone, we’re actually starving ourselves of so many benefits.

It starves us of accountability.

Accountability is a strong word. There seems to be a thin line between living under accountability and living under scrutiny. No one likes to be watched, especially by “church folk.” But let’s face this bit of honesty: we can’t take care of ourselves. One of the root principles of being a Christian is that we understand we are weak. We need accountability. We need brothers and sisters who love us enough to warn us, rebuke us even, when we stray or backslide. This cannot be found anywhere other than a community of Christians in a church.

It starves us of encouragement.

On the flipside, when we are apart from the Body of Christ we are cut off from affirmation and encouragement. We may be doing very well in our walk with Christ, upheld by the grace of God, but the toil and the hardships can still weigh heavily on us, causing discouragement. When we separate ourselves from brothers and sisters in Christ we are separating ourselves from the comfort they can offer, the validation that Christ is sufficient, and the encouragement to stand up and carry on in faith.

It keeps us from witnessing the work of the Holy Spirit among His people and experiencing Christ in the lives of other Christians.

How many times have you seen two people who did not get along finally come together in forgiveness because of Christ? Or fellow Christians finally emerging victorious over a sin that had plagued their lives? When we cut ourselves off from this fellowship, we cut ourselves off from the corporate blessings of the Holy Spirit working among His people.

It starves us of Biblical teaching.

It really isn’t enough to do our own Bible reading and “quiet times.” We need to be taught doctrine from a minister of the gospel. Someone who has dedicated his whole life to studying and expositing the scriptures. In the Bible we never see personal study replace preaching and church attendance. In fact, the Apostle Paul spent most of his life concerned with the welfare and spiritual lives of his fellow preachers. We cannot afford to refrain from sitting under Biblical teaching in church.

It keeps us from sharing our gifts with other Christians and makes us virtually useless in Kingdom work.

“Lone wolf” Christians are at a disadvantage when it comes to exercising their gifts. When we set ourselves apart from the rest of the church we are actually taking ourselves out of the battlefield and working in a place God did not call us to. In military terms, we are disregarding orders. We may be practicing our talents and doing great and good things, but outside of the context of the Body of Christ it is irrelevant. In a body, the eye must remain the eye and do what an eye is supposed to do. If the eye leaves the body, it is useless. In the same way, each member of the Body of Christ is to remain in the Body and accomplish within the Body what they are called to accomplish.

We have to remember something that the cross of Christ accomplished: He abolished the individual. “… you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5 NKJV. We are the bricks and mortar of a house, little parts of a greater whole. Our identity is no longer self, but we have been given a new and greater identity in Christ. We can’t afford to separate ourselves from this “spiritual house.” If we do, we’re just useless stones lying on the ground all by ourselves. Christ died so that we could live in this new identity. We cannot reject it.

THE YEAR of SATAN – WHO SHALL LEAD?

I am sick at heart because so many of our faith leaders over the years have turned against God and laid down for Satan. And the sheeple are following them. I know of no other way to put it into words.

Every day in the news there is something more to further paint the picture of a New World Order along with the New World Religion. For those of us who have been following and researching this for some time it is very depressing.

On the last day of the year 2014, we are given the news the Lutheran World Federation and the Vatican announce “2017 – Together on the Way”. What this means is they will be using “common liturgical material beginning in 2017.

To say that I have been watching Pope Francis closely since taking his place is Rome is an understatement. I admit, the Pope being a Jesuit threw up warning signals for me and his election raised many questions in my mind, but I had decided to take a watch and see position before making any statements. However, my decision has changed.

I am not here to anger my Catholic friends or any Catholics, but I do however want you to think with an open mind.

I can’t help but remember the day my Catholic sister-in-law went to church with us – a Baptist church. She admitted to me after church that she had felt like she had been missing something in her own church and now she knew what it was. It was the gut of the scriptures was missing rather than having all the pomp and circumstance along with the rituals.

Today’s announcement by the Lutheran Federation was not the first event to catch my eye, but it is certainly important. Having followed the movements toward a New World Order and most certainly the One World Religion (OWR) that is to follow, the one outstanding question would be who will lead the OWR?….

After he was elected, the cover of Time Magazine declared Pope Francis to be the “New World Pope“ and since his election Pope Francis has made it abundantly clear that he is going to make ecumenical outreach a top priority.

Pope Francis has issued the order to bring all the world’s religions into the Vatican tent, and this front-burner priority is being accomplished at a record pace. Emergent church leaders like Rick Warren, who says that Francis is “our Pope,” and prosperity “preacher” Joel Osteen have been on-board since last year after private meetings with the Pope. But this latest coupe is also a swipe against the very heart of the Protestant’s as well.

Has anyone, anywhere of any denomination asked the members of their churches how they feel about all of this or have they just gone along believing their leaders are good men and women and not FALSE PROPHETS leading their sheep to the slaughter.

This one world religion that they are seeking to establish is diametrically opposed to the Christianity that we find in the Bible. By throwing out Biblical truth for the sake of “friendship between men and women of different religious traditions“, is Pope Francis fundamentally betraying the faith that he claims

Merry Christmas From the United Nations: Arms Treaty Took Effect December 24th

Jesus’ view of gun control is made clear in Luke 22:35-36, in which Jesus commanded his followers to purchase a sword in defiance of Roman law. Within the Roman Empire, to carry such a weapon was a crime punishable by death. I submit that this represents Jesus’ view of gun control, for when a government is permitted to disarm its citizens, genocide is usually what follows next.

Gun control and Gun Confiscation Has Preceded Every Instance of Genocide In the 20th Century.

Twentieth century governments committed “democide” (i.e. genocide committed by government) to the tune of murdering 262 million of its own citizens according to a University of Hawaii study. Just to give perspective on this incredible rate of murder by government, “this democide murdered 6 times more people than died in combat in” all the of the wars fought in the 20th century….

Merry Christmas from the UN The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty took effect on Christmas Eve. Even though the treaty has very little chance of being ratified by two-thirds of the Senate, Second Amendment advocates are concerned that the Obama administration will use a United Nations treaty as a basis for executive action on gun control as well they should be. Still, others feel that this leftist gun control treaty becomes binding international law and any Executive Action by Obama would merely be an endorsement of our nation’s contractual obligation to support the UN ban on guns. Enough countries around the world have ratified it so the gun control treaty will now be enforced.

The founders included the words “shall not be infringed” for a reason. And they gave YOU the power to fight against any tyrannical government that would try to take your rights away.

The Most Egregious Portions of the UN Ban

• Article 2 of the treaty defines the scope of the treaty’s prohibitions. The right to own, buy, sell, trade, or transfer all means of armed resistance, including handguns, is denied to civilians by this section of the Arms Trade Treaty.

• Article 3 places the “ammunition/munitions fired, launched or delivered by the conventional arms covered under Article 2” within the scope of the treaty’s prohibitions, as well….

I would remind the reader that gun confiscation is not an end unto itself. It is a means to an end. For when the people are finally disarmed, the banking mafia that runs this country can have their way with this country with very little opposition. In the words of Jesus, we would be well-advised to never be without our swords (i.e. guns).

Franklin Graham: America Is Lifting Up Sin

The Rev. Franklin Graham, president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritans Purse, says the government’s attacks against Christianity and bans on traditional Christmas themes while society glorifies sin is “like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God.”

“What’s happening is we’re glorifying sin, we’re lifting up sin. And it’s like little children shaking their fist at Almighty God,” Graham told Fox News host Megyn Kelly during a Wednesday segment of “The Kelly File.”

Speaking about atheists and secularists’ actions to ban celebrations of Christmas in schools and government buildings, Kelly commented on American Atheists’ “skip church” billboard ad campaign, which The Christian Post has reported on. She also cited the city of Pittsburg’s previous plan to rename the Christmas holidays “sparkle days” and the ban on poinsettias at a Minnesota court house, among others.

“It’s all over the country,” Graham asserted. “You have the secularists and the humanists who are wanting to deny that Jesus ever existed. And they want to take His name off of everything.”

Graham continued: “What’s happening now is that it’s infiltrating our government. And our government is attacking Christmas. And it’s not only attacking Christmas, but the name of Christ.”

Christians, he suggested, need to stop being pacifists and defend their rights by writing to their representatives on the school board, city council, state legislature and in Congress.

“Many times Christians are polite; they don’t want to be confronting anybody, so they just back off. But Christians need to write their politicians, and [they] need to stand up and defend their rights, because if you don’t, we’ll lose them. And we’re already losing them, just one at a time,” Graham said.

Christmas

Christmas. Believe in Christmas or not, like it or not, prepared for it or not, participate in it or not — Christmas is here — again! It is the inevitable, unstoppable, and most popular celebration of the year that comes every December. I recall when I was a child that the Christmas season did not begin until after Thanksgiving and it seemed the mystical December 25th Christmas day would never arrive. Now that I’m older, things have changed. The days, weeks, and months go by ever so quickly, and presto! — Christmas is here again.

Why Christmas? The majority say, “Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus.” Why a Christmas season? Most will say, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Really? No, not really–the manger scenes, Christmas carols, and religious activities notwithstanding. Interestingly, Christmas is not a Bible subject or even a Bible Word.

It is a historical fact that the season and day now known as Christmas preceded the birth of Christ by hundreds of years. Christmas was adopted from earlier heathen winter solstice celebrations celebrating the sun, including the Roman festival of Saturnalia celebrated from December the 17th to the 24th; Celtic Yuletide which was a twelve-day long festival of feasting around November/December; the Roman New Year celebrated on January the first when greenery was used to decorate houses in celebration of the birth of the undying sun, and presents were given to children and the poor. The Roman Catholic Church “Christianized” this pagan festival by substituting the birth of Christ for sun worship and named it Mass of Christ. The title was later shortened by the church to Christ-mas. The traditions celebrated at Christmas today were invented by blending together customs from paganism and many different countries.

A brief look at “Christmas in America” :

In the early 17th century, a wave of religious reform changed the way Christmas was celebrated in Europe. When Oliver Cromwell and his Puritan forces took over England in 1645, they vowed to rid England of decadence and, as part of their effort, canceled Christmas. By popular demand, Charles II was restored to the throne and, with him, came the return of the popular holiday.

The pilgrims, English separatists that came to America in 1620, were even more orthodox in their Puritan beliefs than Cromwell. As a result, Christmas was not a holiday in early America. From 1659 to 1681, the celebration of Christmas was actually outlawed in Boston. Anyone exhibiting the Christmas spirit was fined five shillings. By contrast, in the Jamestown settlement, Captain John Smith reported that Christmas was enjoyed by all and passed without incident.

After the American Revolution, English customs fell out of favor, including Christmas. In fact, Congress was in session on December 25, 1789, the first Christmas under America’s new constitution. Christmas wasn’t declared a federal holiday until June 26, 1870.

Before the ‘Civil War’, the North and South were divided on the issue of Christmas, as well as on the question of slavery. Many Northerners saw sin in the celebration of Christmas; to these people the celebration of Thanksgiving was more appropriate. But in the South, Christmas was an important part of the social season. Not surprisingly, the first three states to make Christmas a legal holiday were in the South: Alabama in 1836, Louisiana and Arkansas in 1838.

In the years after the Civil War, Christmas traditions spread across the country. Children’s books played an important role in spreading the customs of celebrating Christmas, especially the tradition of trimmed trees and gifts delivered by Santa Claus. Sunday school classes encouraged the celebration of Christmas. Women’s magazines were also very important in suggesting ways to decorate for the holidays, as well as how to make these decorations.

By the last quarter of the nineteenth century, America eagerly decorated trees, caroled, baked, and shopped for the Christmas season. Since that time, materialism, media, advertising, and mass marketing has made Christmas what it is today. The traditions that we practice at Christmas today were invented by blending together religious and secular customs from paganism and many different countries.

In 1997, Artist Robert Cenedella drew a painting of a crucified Santa Claus. It was displayed in the window of the New York’s Art Students League and received intense criticism from some religious groups. His drawing was a protest. He attempted to show how Santa Claus had replaced Jesus Christ as the most important personality at Christmas time. Obviously, he was correct.

Should Christians celebrate Christmas?

I like Charles Spurgeon on this subject because he does not fit easily into either of the simple pre-cut molds that tend to dominate those with strong opinions on whether Christians should even acknowledge, much less celebrate Christmas. In one corner you have those who give a resounding “NO” to this question. After all, the Bible does not even hint at celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ annually. Furthermore, Christmas is an adaptation of a pagan festival and “what hath light to do with darkness?” In the other corner are those who seem to think that anything less than an all-out celebration of Christmas—even by those who are not Christians—is an assault on Christianity and one more indication of how godless our culture has become.

Spurgeon’s views are clear that Christmas is not a biblical holiday and so minces no words in criticizing the attempt to equate it with vital Christianity. He sometimes ridicules and chides the observance of Christmas as a “popish festival.” This point of view is what is most often quoted when Spurgeon and Christmas come up. For example, on Sunday morning, December 24, 1871, Spurgeon preached a sermon entitled, “Joy Born at Bethlehem.” He began his sermon with these words:

“We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas. First, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be sung in Latin or in English; and secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Savior; and consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Savior’s birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occurred. It was not till the middle of the third century that any part of the church celebrated the nativity of our Lord; and it was not till very long after the Western church had set the example, that the Eastern adopted it.

Probably the fact is that the “holy” days were arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals. We venture to assert, that if there be any day in the year, of which we may be pretty sure that it was not the day on which the Savior was born, it is the twenty-fifth of December. Nevertheless since, the current of men’s thoughts is led this way just now, and I see no evil in the current itself, I shall launch the bark of our discourse upon that stream, and make use of the fact, which I shall neither justify nor condemn, by endeavoring to lead your thoughts in the same direction. Since it is lawful, and even laudable, to meditate upon the incarnation of the Lord upon any day in the year, it cannot be in the power of other men’s superstitions to render such a meditation improper for today. Regarding not the day, let us, nevertheless, give God thanks for the gift of His dear Son.”

Spurgeon had little patience with his Protestant brethren who made much of the day out of religious devotion. Yet, Spurgeon did not think it some violation of Scripture to utilize the inevitable emphasis of the season to preach the incarnate Christ. So it is easy to find sermons on the birth of Christ that he preached around Christmas time.

In December of 1855 Spurgeon preached on “The Incarnation and Birth of Christ” from Micah 5:2. His opening words were these:

“This is the season of the year when, whether we wish it or not, we are compelled to think of the birth of Christ. I hold it to be one of the greatest absurdities under heaven to think that there is any religion in keeping Christmas-day. There are no probabilities whatever that our Savior Jesus Christ was born on that day and the observance of it is purely of Popish origin; doubtless those who are Catholics have a right to hallow it, but I do not see how consistent Protestants can account it in the least sacred. However, I wish there were ten or a dozen Christmas-days in the year; for there is work enough in the world, and a little more rest would not hurt laboring people. Christmas-day is really a boon to us, particularly as it enables us to assemble round the family hearth and meet our friends once more. Still, although we do not fall exactly in the track of other people, I see no harm in thinking of the incarnation and birth of the Lord Jesus. We do not wish to be classed with those ‘Who with more care keep holiday the wrong way, than others the right way.'”

In the same vein Spurgeon preached a message on December 25, 1864, entitled, “Mary’s Song,” based on Luke 1:46-47. In it he says:

“Observe, this morning, the sacred joy of Mary that you may imitate it. This is a season when all men expect us to be joyous. We compliment each other with the desire that we may have a “Merry Christmas.” Some Christians, who are a little squeamish, do not like the word “merry.” It is a right good old Saxon word, having the joy of childhood and the mirth of manhood in it, it brings before one’s mind the old song of the waits, and the midnight peal of bells, the holly and the blazing log. I love it for its place in that most tender of all parables, where it is written, that, when the long-lost prodigal returned to his father safe and sound, “They began to be merry.” This is the season when we are expected to be happy; and my heart’s desire is, that in the highest and best sense, you who are believers may be “merry.” Mary’s heart was merry within her; but here was the mark of her joy, it was all holy merriment, it was every drop of it sacred mirth. It was not such merriment as worldlings will revel in today and tomorrow, but such merriment as the angels have around the throne, where they sing, “Glory to God in the highest,” while we sing “On earth peace, goodwill towards men.” Such merry hearts have a continual feast. I want you, ye children of the bride-chamber, to possess today and tomorrow, yea, all your days, the high and consecrated bliss of Mary that you may not only read her words, but use them for yourselves, ever experiencing their meaning: ‘My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.’”

It has been 150 years since Spurgeon preached these sermons and Christmas continues to be a controversial subject among many Christians; “Should I or should I not observe Christmas?” Spurgeon was wise in concluding that since he could not cancel Christmas, he would avail himself of the opportunity of the season and the day to proclaim the incarnation of Christ.

These sermons also assure us that the building where Spurgeon preached was never decorated with a Christmas tree, holly, mistletoe, and wreaths during the Christmas season to generate a “Christmas spirit.”

Federal judge: “Christmas is both secular and religious”

Christmas has been a federal holiday in America since June 26, 1870. In August, 1998, Cincinnati attorney Richard Ganulin filed suit in U.S. District Court claiming that “Christmas is a religious holiday, and the Congress of the United States is not constitutionally permitted to endorse or aid any religion, purposefully or otherwise, or entanglement between our government and religious beliefs.”

Congress granted Christmas this special status in 1870, following the lead of several state legislatures. It is now one of ten government-sanctioned holidays that include birthday celebrations for Martin Luther King and George Washington, and the recognition of Independence on July 4. Ganulin argued that the establishment of the December 25 date, though, “effectively endorses one set of Christian religious and Christian cultural beliefs…” In dismissing the suit, U.S. District Judge Susan Dlott argued that the Christmas holiday did not violate Ganulin’s right to equal protection under the law. She added that “The court has found legitimate secular purposes for establishing Christmas as a legal public holiday.” When the government decides to recognize Christmas Day as a public holiday, it does no more than accommodate the calendar of public activities to the plain fact that many Americans will expect on that day to spend time visiting with their families, attending religious services, and perhaps enjoying some respite from pre-holiday activities.

Ganulin and his family have the freedom to celebrate, or not celebrate, the religious and secular aspects of the holiday as they see fit,” Dlott added. “The court simply does not believe that declaring Christmas to be a legal public holiday impermissibly imposes Christian beliefs on non-adherents in a way that violates the right to freedom of association.”

Dlott also gave her interpretation of the “Lemon” test from Lemon v. Kurtzman which is used widely in deciding if an action by the government violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment. She opined that Christmas “has a valid secular purpose, it does not have the effect of endorsing religion in general or Christianity in particular, and it does not impermissibly cause excessive entanglement between church and state.”

Unwittingly or not, Judge Dlott trivialized both Mr. Ganulin’s case, and her own ruling by including a ditty with her official written decision. It read:

The court will address
Plaintiff’s seasonal confusion
Erroneously believing of Christmas
MERELY a religious intrusion

Whatever the reason
Constitutional or other
Christmas is NOT
An act of Big Brother!

Christmas is about joy
And giving and sharing
It is about the child within us
It is mostly about caring!

One is never jailed
For not having a tree
For not going to church
For not spreading glee!

The court will uphold
Seemingly contradictory causes
Decreeing “The establishment” AND “Santa”
both worthwhile “CLAUS(es)!”

We are all better for Santa
The Easter Bunny too
And maybe the great pumpkin
To name just a few!

An extra day off
Is hardly high treason
It may be spent as you wish
Regardless of reason

The court having read
The lessons of “Lynch”
refuses to play
The role of the Grinch!

There is room in this country

For different convictions

Christmas is here to stay:

Christmas is not only a federal holiday; it is an irreversible America tradition. Believe in it or not, agree with it or not, participate in it or not — Christmas is here to stay. Many American families view the Christmas season as an important time of the year to come together whether they are Christians or not. Although in recent times Christmas has become highly commercialized, Christmas is a very special time of year and many families have their own ways of celebrating this holiday. May all who know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, rejoice and proclaim:Jesus Christ Is God!

I Won’t Take the Mark

Katherine Albrecht…. had undertaken a most important, yet for all I can tell, completely by all others neglected, task of teaching children about the system and mark of the Beast. What a hugely ambitious undertaking! She has done this in the form of a children’s book which comes complete with a certificate of pledge for the child to sign after they have read, or had read to them, her book titled, I Won’t Take the Mark.

In my personal yet brutally honest opinion, this is a stroke of sheer spiritual genius I wish I had come up with before her! But in reality, I’m sure the idea wasn’t hers’ to begin with anyway. And if she’s truly the woman of God I suspect her to be, I believe she would be the first one to tell you that. I simply see the Fingerprints of the Spirit all over this inspired idea. And so Lord willing, I will soon be ordering one of her books to check it out. As the Lord directs me, I will get back to all of you accordingly….

Why haven’t we heard more about this subject in general from the churches? For me, the answer is pretty obvious and, if you’ve been receiving my email messages for any length of time, it should be pretty obvious to you as well. The fact is, that at this particular point on God’s eternal time line, there are certain subjects the 501 (C) (3) corporate (fiction of law, counterfeit) churches will never discuss. The system and mark of the Beast is one of those subjects. Either it will be discussed with certain key “tie in” facts left out – as not to offend the hand that feeds them – or, it will be completely ignored, considered “too close for comfort”.

In 1966, when I was a young convert to Christ at age 16, we were routinely shown at our church youth group and YFC (Youth For Christ) gatherings, films that depicted life in the years to come when the system of the Beast Government would be full fledged, implemented and inextricably in place. Well, my dear sleeping souls, guess what? Those days are here right now… and they’ve only just begin! Makes ya wanna sing, doesn’t it?

A Clergy Response Team Insider Reveals the Duties of a Pastor Inside of a FEMA Camp

Many people in the independent media have reported that an estimated 28,000 pastors were recruited by FEMA/DHS, as part of the Clergy Response Team, and that their initial and primary training was to tell their flock to obey the DHS version of Romans 13. Romans 13, in the King James version of the Bible, begins:

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1

Many of us have been quick to point that this bastardization of the Romans 13 is designed to force compliance to government edicts who might not otherwise comply….

I have discovered that the Clergy Response Teams are taking on much more nefarious duties and it can be accurately stated that the pastors associated with the DHS/FEMA/Clergy Response Teams are going to be doing a whole lot more than encouraging their flock to obey the government.

Pastor Mansfield was recruited to become a member of the Clergy Response Team which would operate under the control of NOVAD and DHS. Mansfield’s revelations about his experiences are stunning and concerning at the same time.

Pastor Mansfield attended several briefings and he could barely believe his ears. He learned of the government’s plan to enact martial law as well as to implement forced population relocations. Mansfield emphasized that when martial law is enacted, the enforcement would be immediate. In other words, family members will be separated from each other and part of the training that the clergy received was how to comfort separated family members.

Pastor Mansfield emphasized that the FEMA/DHS drills were predicated on bioterrorism. The pastors were trained to go to homes were people refused to be relocated by the authorities and their immediate job was to convince the reluctant to willingly go to the relocation camps. Ostensibly, this was to be done in lieu of sending in the SWAT teams.

I asked Mansfield if FEMA camps were real and he stated that much of the clergy training focused around this scenario of pastors operating within the forced relocation centers. The main goal of a pastor assigned to a FEMA was to bring order and encourage compliance with DHS requests, hence, the emphasis on Romans 13.

The pastors were forced to sign non-disclosure. Interesting, the pastors were told not to quote Scripture. The DHS document which was prepared for the pastors clearly stated that Scripture had been used to “oppress” people in the past and the presenters strongly discouraged the its use. Logic in the Eternal Security Debate

It has been 25 years since I first understood the implications of believing salvation can be lost, especially from the preterist perspective. Also, why is this debate so incredibly important? Some think it is a trivial debate, but is a difference between believing in salvation by grace versus believing in salvation by works. We must not view this difference as secondary, peripheral, non-essential etc. It is a critical difference between the Gospel and a false gospel.

Paul disputed daily about the difference between salvation by grace vs. salvation by works. So must we. In the process of doing this we are often accused of being unloving. While we love people, we can openly argue against error. But some take this as unloving. Therefore we take great care to not attack a person or character but instead we stick with the argument and facts, and we avoid ad hominem attacks. Such attacks are not loving. We judge no man, nor do we state our view of the status of their salvation, pro or con.

But we may freely judge bad philosophy and erroneous doctrine, and if that is considered unloving, then so be it:
1) If we can lose your salvation, who is maintaining it?

If our answer is: we are maintaining it, then is this not salvation by works?

If our answer is: God is maintaining it, and we lost it, then God failed
Now, if we are in the kingdom now, and physical death doesn’t affect our status, but we simply continue living in the kingdom after we die, then, if we can lose our salvation now, why can we not also lose our salvation after we die? That is, if our will is free to lose our salvation now, why is it not also free to lose our salvation after we die?

If we argue that we cannot lose our salvation after we die, are we saying that our will is no longer free after we die? What Scripture teaches that our will is free before we die but not free after we die?

If we answer that our will is not free after we die, what is wrong with saying our will is not free before we die? Spiritually speaking, what is the theological difference? Rather, we conclude that our will is neither free to lose our salvation before we die nor after we die:

John 6:37-39 All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out. (38) For I came down from Heaven, not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. (39) And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day.

In which part of these promises has God failed? Since we do not believe that God fails, the promise is sure:
1) All that the Father gives to Christ *will* come to Christ. There is no failure in that. It is a guarantee, for it is impossible for God to lie. We believe that Christ told the truth. And this giving us to the Son must happen before we come to the Son. The promise is sure. All those given to the Son *will* come. What is the next promise?
2) and the one who comes to the Son He will in no way cast out. Again, this is a promise and a guarantee. Why? “This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me, I should lose nothing…” Again, there is no possibility of an alternative here. Our will is not free to counter the will of the Father. He gave us to the Son, and we came to the Son because we were first given to the Son. And because we were given to the Son, we came to the Son, and the Son promises that we will not be cast out. If one loses their salvation, they were never given to the Son, and they never truly came to the Son: 1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they were of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out so that it might be revealed that they were not all of us.

John is clear in both books. “They were not of us.” He did not say, “They once were of us…” When they went out, *that* was the revelation that they were not all of us: “That it might be revealed that they were not all of us.” Christ did not say, “Depart from Me. I once knew you but then you left.” Rather, Christ says, “Depart from Me. I *never* knew you.” But John doesn’t stop there: He reiterates the promise of God:
John 10:26-29 But you did not believe because you are not of My sheep. As I said to you, (27) My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (28) And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand. (29) My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father’s hand.

Notice the order: The Pharisees did not believe because they were already not His sheep. All His sheep hear His voice. And the guarantee is certain: “And they follow Me.” That is, they never go away. But they first must be His sheep, whether they were pre AD 70 sheep of the house of Israel or post AD 70 sheep. God’s promise is sure. And it is also sure that “I give them eternal life and they shall never perish.” If a believer perishes, then Christ lied. If a believer perishes, then they lost their eternal life, and thus their life was never eternal. Christ would have to lie multiple times if a person can lose their salvation or suddenly stop believing. “No one is able to pluck them out of My hand.” But this promise fails is we pluck ourselves out of His hand, thus we would make God a liar. Why did the Gentiles in the book of Acts believe?

Act 13:48 And hearing, the nations rejoiced and glorified the Word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
This goes hand in hand with, “All that the Father gives me will come to Me.” The “ordaining” and the “giving” came first–not the belief. The belief is the result of the ordaining.

Here are the implications of believing one can lose their salvation, and such slander and maligning of God is obvious, if we believe we can lose our salvation:
1. He is not able to perform what He had promised Romans 4:21
2. He will not present me blameless 1 Thessalonians 5:24
3. He did not predestine me unto the adoption as a child Ephesians 1:5
4. There is condemnation for me even though I am in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1

The belief that one can lose their salvation has catastrophic effects regarding the nature and character of God and theology proper. Such a belief is not the Gospel but instead is a human-centered fabrication designed to manipulate people by fear and guilt. Such a doctrine produces only fear and torment. Such a doctrine is not a doctrine of love, but rather of fear, self-centeredness, self-worship, and self-deification. It is not the Gospel. It is another Jesus and another Gospel rooted in fear, torment, guilt manipulation, and self-righteousness. It produces a judgmental spirit and creates division.
1Jn 4:18-19 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has torment. He who fears has not been perfected in love. (19) We love Him because He first loved us.
Gal 1:6-9 I marvel that you so soon are being moved away from Him who called you into the grace of Christ, to another gospel, (7) which is not another, but some are troubling you, and desiring to pervert the gospel of Christ. The Grand Inquisitor Planet

Understanding the world is difficult at best. However, knowing how the world works is a task that can be readily recognized. The ability to grasp and admit both functions, is seldom achieved by most souls. Those who accomplish a rare and accurate comprehension of the human condition, appreciate the social conflict that permeates civilized life. Society is an invention to effect dominance. The Grand Inquisitor exacts compliance, for that is his function. Not that it is essential, but because it is ingrained and instinctive.

In The Brothers Karamazov, Fydor Dostoevsky has Ivan Karamazov use his intuition to deliver a psychological view of his internal struggle. “My poem is called ‘The Grand Inquisitor’- an absurd thing, but I want you to hear it.” His encounter bears witness to duel aspects of mankind. On the one hand God is needed, even if He is denied; and if His presence is in dispute, humankind will invent His omnipotence in the form of a civil structure.

Enter the Cardinal Grand Inquisitor:

“But you did not know that as soon as man rejects miracles, he will at once reject God as well, for man seeks not so much God as miracles. And since man himself cannot bear to be left without miracles, he will go and create new miracles for himself, his own miracles this time, and will bow down to the miracles of quacks, or women’s magic, though he be rebellious, heretical, and godless a hundred times over.”

“You did not come down again [from the cross] because, again, you did not want to enslave man by a miracle and thirsted for faith that is free, not miraculous…But here, too, you overestimated mankind, for, of course they are slaves, although they were created rebels.” “I swear, man is created weaker and baser than you thought him!”

The refuge of the Church required an obedience to the Cardinal. The primacy of the Holy See demanded submission to Catholicism, not to God. Organization took precedence over belief. Inquisition as an ecclesiastic tribunal to establish membership in good standing could be valid. However, persecution by authorities to force compliance, as the measure of adherence to their system of earthly order; is abhorrent.

The intellectual Karamazov son, Ivan, explains that faith is not easy to understand. The poem also explains that free will is the single greatest burden placed upon any individual. Freedom, according to Ivan’s poem, is intolerable. “The tragic nihilism of the Grand Inquisitor is, in turn, parodied by Ivan’s devil, the “true” devil. The Grand Inquisitor’s secret is that he does not believe in God, but he is a victim of a terrible love for mankind. His indictment of Christ is that Christ himself does not love man and does not understand him; Christ, in refusing to display his powers through miracle, excludes from the State-as-Church most of humanity. Father Zossima is the mystic, and his mysticism has the psychological power of ridding the peasant (most of humanity) of his burden of freedom; the Grand Inquisitor is the mystic-turned-political figure, the organizer and savior of mankind. Both Zossima and the Grand Inquisitor are altruistic, ruled by love of man”.

Basically the modern day parallel, conforms to a parable that has haunted mankind from his inception. The record is real, even when the homily is ridiculed. The political role of the Christendom Church invested authoritarian reign within bishops, in matters of religious rite. Princes and kings accepted canon law as a prerequisite for their own salvation. Civil governments acknowledged influence from Popes and his cardinals because they validated their legitimacy. Public policy was often confirmed by papal sanctification.

As miracles became optional and mystics were relegated to visions that conformed with public policy, the State gradually assumed the supremacy that was once the province of the Church. The excesses of the Grand Inquisitor became the creed of administration by the temporal regime. Their doctrine was taught as the achievement of the common good. Judgment for defining and attaining that criterion rested in the politic that kept the ruling structure in place. Canon law for the holy faithful was cast aside as civic decree transformed into the religion of the State. No longer was belief required to guide behavior; man made codes, regulations and laws determined the appropriate conduct.

Freedom to reject this formula remains as testimony that the work of achieving altruism necessitates the torments of the Grand Inquisitor. Penalties and methods of discipline have become the sacraments of salvation. Redemption, no longer needed – now requires – only uniformity to consummate the religious dogma of contemporary society.

What lesson can be learned, when Ivan says:

“Why, it’s all nonsense, Alyosha (his father). It’s only a senseless poem of a senseless student, who could never write two lines of verse. Why do you take it so seriously? Surely you don’t suppose I am going straight off to the Jesuits, to join the men who are correcting His work? Good Lord, it’s no business of mine. I told you, all I want is to live on to thirty, and then… dash the cup to the ground!”

“But the little sticky leaves, and the precious tombs, and the blue sky, and the woman you love! How will you live, how will you love them?” Alyosha cried sorrowfully. “With such a hell in your heart and your head, how can you? No, that’s just what you are going away for, to join them… if not, you will kill yourself, you can’t endure it!”

“There is a strength to endure everything,” Ivan said with a cold smile.

“The strength of the Karamazovs — the strength of the Karamazov baseness.”

“To sink into debauchery, to stifle your soul with corruption, yes?”

“Possibly even that… only perhaps till I am thirty I shall escape it, and then-”

“How will you escape it? By what will you escape it? That’s impossible with your ideas.”

“In the Karamazov way, again.” “‘Everything is lawful,’ you mean?

Everything is lawful, is that it?”

The popular culture has adopted the Karamazov ethic and the planet has become the dependency of the Grand Inquisitor. The rejection of God, as a condition to serve man, is the work of the devil. Altruism is torture that accentuates agony. Our human nature is condemned to the anguish of permanent suffering, without the eternal relief from atonement. The State is not a vessel for redemption. No government will offer salvation. And no system of administration can or will be a substitute for submission before the living divine creator.

Faith in God obligates distrust and opposition to profane temporal torturers, who promote a forced punishment, as the reward for authentic fidelity. Love for your fellow man, does not necessitate worship of a secular beast. The miracle of life is not a product of a public program. Miracles are the results of revelation. Our nature is designed to embrace faith, not to fear it or renounce its importance. The Grand Inquisitor brotherhood is doomed, when believers deny the lies and revolt against their rule. You have the freedom – show your faith.

Why You Should Celebrate Thanksgiving Like A Puritan

The Plymouth Separatists, Protestant Puritan believers we now call the Pilgrims, were theologically minded in a way difficult for many of us to grasp. “These were biblical theologians,” write theologians Joel R. Beeke and Mark Jones in their book A Puritan Theology: Doctrine for Life. They were “biblical in the sense that they quarried their theology from the Bible, but also biblical in the more modern sense of understanding and being concerned to expound the unified flow of the story of salvation and to see each element of it in its proper place in the story.”

The Puritans sought to honor the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every area of their lives and worked diligently to bring a Christian understanding of every facet of life, from labor in the fields to the study of Scripture. Writes Leland Ryken in Worldly Saints: The Puritans As They Really Were, “Puritanism was impelled by the insight that all of life is God’s. The Puritans lived simultaneously in two worlds—the invisible spiritual world and the physical world of earthly existence. For the Puritans, both worlds were equally real,and there was no cleavage of life into sacred and secular. All of life was sacred.”

Life lived in Christ was a joyous thing for the Puritans. It was not the gloomy, censorious toil that modern critics ascribe to it. As Ryken notes, George Fox, a leading early Quaker, criticized the Puritans for “their ribbons and lace and costly apparel” and their “sporting and feasting.” The Anglican/Evangelical theologian J.I. Packer writes that “the typical Puritans were not wild men, fierce and freaky, religious fanatics and social extremists, but sober, conscientious, and cultured citizens: persons of principle, devoted, determined, and disciplined, excelling in the domestic virtues.”

For example, the Puritans upheld the biblical teaching that sexual intimacy is reserved for one man and one woman within the covenant of marriage. But within that covenant, the marriage bed should be a place where sexual relations were pursued “with good will and delight, willingly, readily, and cheerfully,” according to Puritan pastor William Gouge.

The Separatists who met on that first Thanksgiving were not a doleful lot in solid black habits. They were a serious but joyous people, men and women who sought to serve their Lord in all things and at all times. They worked to recognize His presence and His sovereignty wherever they were; this gave them the comfort that comes from trusting in a loving Savior and the sense of obligation that comes from being not only His friends but His servants.

In a letter home to England in 1621, here’s how Plymouth Colony founder Edward Winslow described what happened on what we now call the first Thanksgiving:

… God be praised, we had a good increase of Indian corn, and our barley indifferent good, but our peas not worth the gathering, for we feared they were too late sown, they came up very well, and blossomed, but the sun parched them in the blossom; our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might after a more special manner rejoice together, after we had gathered the fruit of our labors; they four in one day killed as much fowl, as with a little help beside, served the company almost a week, at which time amongst other recreations, we exercised our arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and among the rest their greatest King Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five deer, which they brought to the plantation and bestowed on our governor, and upon the captain, and others. And although it be not always so plentiful, as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plenty.

These were a God-soaked people. The saw His blessing in times of abundance; they rested in His goodness in times of want. As we perform the 21st century equivalent of “discharging our arms” – watching football, playing silly games, snoring in our recliners – this coming Thursday, let’s rejoice not only in the astonishing blessings we presume upon every day but reflect on the true source of enduring joy, the God of the Puritans. And let’s be like them in our pursuit of Him. They, and He, would like that.

How Christians And Conservatives Are Helping To Destroy America

What makes America America? What distinguishes this country from the nations of the world–or from world history, for that matter? Even casual historians must admit that there has never been a country like the United States of America ever to exist. This nation is unique to world history. There has never been a country like this–and probably will never be one like it again.

As hard as it is for the anti-God types to admit, America has a deeply-rooted Christian history and culture. However, when one says, “America is a Christian country,” (usually spoken by a Christian, of course), he or she may mean something that NEVER existed. So, let’s set the record straight: America was never founded as a theocracy. And even though there are some well-meaning, albeit naïve, Christian people today who pretend that America once had, and should have again, a theocratic-type government and society, the fact is, America was NEVER a theocracy.

The only theocracy in the history of the world was Old Testament Israel under Moses. After the death of Moses, God expected Israel to be governed by the principles established through Moses. Even the reign of Israel’s greatest king, King David, could not be classified as a theocracy. He, too, was expected to adhere to the tenets and principles of Moses. Only through Moses did God directly govern the people. And even within the government of Israel, God established the roots of what became known as republican (small “r”) government. But I will save that discussion for a later day.

So, if by “Christian nation” people mean that America was established as some sort of theocracy, they are gravely mistaken. It is also unfortunate that some well-meaning (at least, I think they are well-meaning) Christian people give the unchurched world the impression that they are trying to create some sort of theocracy in America today. Some even go so far as to teach that we don’t need a Constitution or State and municipal laws–and any such laws are themselves evil. This is an asinine philosophy, to say the least.

I, for one, would never want a so-called theocracy administered by the likes of the vast majority of Christian teachers and pastors today. Are you kidding? Most of them can’t even govern a small congregation of believers who are ostensibly assembled under the same ideology, same eschatology, same ecclesiology, etc. Have you been to a church business meeting lately? You really want those people dictating national laws? God forbid!

No! There is no Moses on the scene today with new revelation dictating God’s will for the nation. That being said, there is no mistaking the fact that America has a deeply-rooted, rich Christian tradition.

America’s founders, even those who were not professing Christians, as we understand the term today, acknowledged that fact.

The principles of the Christian faith include both Natural and Revealed Law. The Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, especially, clearly illustrate the founder’s understanding and appreciation for these principles.

The Declaration begins, “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which THE LAWS OF NATURE AND OF NATURE’S GOD [emphasis added] entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the cause which impel them to the separation.

“We hold these truths to be SELF-EVIDENT [emphasis added], that all men are CREATED [emphasis added] equal, that they are endowed BY THEIR CREATOR [emphasis added] with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

As Thomas Jefferson quickly penned the Declaration (and he did write it rather quickly), he was borrowing heavily from John Locke and the commonly understood principles of Natural Law. Though the founders were dissimilar in regards to their understanding of Biblical teaching, to a man, they understood and agreed with the “self-evident” principles of Natural Law, or “the Laws of Nature.”

Furthermore, virtually every “right” enumerated in the Bill of Rights can be traced directly to commonly understood principles contained in Natural and Revealed Law. That fact is unassailable….

Some of the most enslaved people on the planet are professing Christians. Many of our churches, Christian schools, colleges, seminaries, etc. are filled with the “servants of men.” The fact that our public education system fails to teach children to think critically is only matched by too many of today’s churches and Christian schools.

Not only do so many Christians have a slave mentality; they also have a war mentality. Who are the ones who are the first and loudest cheerleaders for perpetual wars of aggression in the Middle East? Christians and conservatives! But why should that surprise us? Look at our churches. What do you see? Perpetual war: infighting, gossip, slander, backbiting, name-calling, character assassination, etc. Some of the most mean-spirited, low-down, dishonest, conniving, and blood-thirsty people on the planet call themselves Christians. Believe me, if they could get away with it, there is no telling how many people in our country would be losing their heads at the hands of these pious-talking Christians. Hatred and bitterness is nothing more than murder of the heart; and millions of professing Christians are as guilty as can be….

The assault against the United States is massive. We are fast losing our Christian heritage and culture–and Christians are as much to blame as anyone. They have tried to turn the Lord’s Church into a playground or entertainment center–or even worse, a corporation. Phariseeism is rampant. As a result, unbelievers have lost all respect for churches in general. I, for one, don’t blame them.

We have lost our understanding of, and appreciation for, Natural Law. Even most pastors cannot articulate the fundamental principles of Natural Law, even though this is the Law upon which America was founded. This means, we have lost the true meaning of America’s Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights.

We cheer as our country has turned into a “Warfare State.” We applaud as our nation has turned into an Orwellian surveillance society. We are losing our common language, our common history and heritage, and our common faith. Christianity in 2014-15 is not even comparable to Christianity in 1775-76. We have traded Jonas Clark for Joel Osteen….

Rising Number of Muslims Report Dreams of Jesus

“I was in the desert alone, lost. As far as the horizon, there was nothing in sight but sand. I felt the sand on my bare feet. Then I saw something extraordinary. In the midst of that barrenness, an immense wooden cross emerged from the earth, rising up with sand spilling from it back to earth.”

So begins a dream narrative posted by Bosnian Muslim teenager Emina Emlonic. A dream about Jesus.

It continues: “I felt then a spectator in my own dream, and the sight of the cross gave me neither fear nor joy. But I was a curious and began moving, almost floating, towards it, the most magnificent … thing I’d ever seen or imagined, and as I came closer to the cross, I suddenly saw a man walking toward me: a broad-shouldered, long-striding man, with a dark complexion, long hair, and wearing a white robe.

“And just as suddenly I ceased to be a witness to my dream. I was in it, walking toward the man walking toward me. I knew him immediately. He was Jesus. Without knowing why, I fell to my knees. He stood over me and touched my face with his right hand.”

Posted at the Catholic Thing website, such accounts of encounters with Jesus through dreams and visions increasingly are being reported, according to Pastor Frank Costenbader, founder of Manifold Hope Ministries, publisher of the Isa Dreams website.

Isa is an Arabic name corresponding to Jesus that is found in the Quran.

Romans 13 : The Higher Liberty

“You can fool all of the people some of the time and You can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time.” Abraham Lincoln.

When I first began to talk about government and the Bible in the same paragraphs, I heard people respond with quotes from Romans 13 probably more than any other verse. It Reads:

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13: 1

Of course we should honor true authority, such as our Father and Mother, or others that God places over us (or we go under by contract and agreement), but is that even what Romans 13 is talking about? Have we been completely misled about the meaning of that scripture by Paul?

The Greek word exousia translated in Romans 13:1 as power or authority actually means the “right to choose”, the “power of choice, liberty of doing as one pleases.”1

It is also translated as the word “right” in Revelations.

“Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have [exousia] right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Re 22:14

The whole idea of the tree of life is about choice and the right to choose, to obey God, and follow him and not your own willfulness. Nor are we to go under the will of other men and their created institutions which may establish an authority over us as we see with Cain, Nimrod and Pharaoh.

Paul is simply telling you in Romans 13 that you should remain subject to the better or higher liberty or right to choose.

Exousia is even translated as “liberty” in 1 Corinthians.

“But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.” 1Co 8:9

The word liberty in this verse is the same word translated power in Romans 13.

Christ came to set men free not to deliver them into the bondage of governments like those of Egypt or Babylon. Early Christians were part of a government appointed by Christ and were cast out2 of the Hellenized Pharisaical system of Corban in Judea when thousands accepted Christ at Pentecost. They began to live according to those precepts established in the perfect law of liberty, by faith, hope and charity. This was done with freewill offerings, and not the covetous and forced offerings of benefactors in other governments who exercised authority.

‘You Don’t Hate Us!’ Lesbian Learns Christians ‘Really Do Care’ By Sharing Gospel

CHICAGO – A Christian columnist, cultural analyst and attorney specializing in constitutional law recently shared a story about about how a lesbian’s eyes were opened to the fact that Christians are motivated by love and not hate to share the gospel with homosexuals.

Matt Barber, the founder of BarbWire.com, recalled the incident in an article published by Charisma News last Monday. He stated that in 2009, as he was the keynote speaker at a banquet in Chicago for the organization American for Truth About Homosexuality, a number of homosexual protesters stood outside, angered by the event.

One woman that was present at the banquet claimed to be with the press, but it was soon discovered that she was actually among the protesters. Rather than ejecting her from the building, Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, invited her to stay.

“This young woman, who identified as a lesbian, sat at a table with some of the most loving and godly women I know,” Barber recalled. “They showed her the love of Christ.”

The women shared the word of God with the girl, who also listened to Barber’s message shared from the podium during the event.

“After I gave my remarks, this young lady . . . rushed over to me with tears in her eyes,” Barber remembered. “‘They lied!’ she exclaimed of the protest organizers outside. ‘You don’t hate us. You don’t hate me. You really do care.’”

Are Christians Idiots?

When Christ spoke of the Kingdom there was a revolution going on in Judea and the world. The policies and practices of politicians and people had the world on a one way road to social and economic destruction. John the Baptist and Jesus were turning the world upside down. They were shaming the hypocrites who claimed to be following Moses but did not know him nor the God who sent him to free the people.

Acts 4:13 “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”…

Christians provided for one another in charity and did not participate in the free bread welfare of Rome as we see the Pharisees doing.4 The Pharisees had chosen Caesar’s ways and government as their benefactor. The Christians were not involved in the public affairs of the Pharisees. Christians were involved in public affairs of Christ working daily in the temple.5

The temple in Jerusalem, the same as those of Rome, was the center of their social welfare. With the baptism of John, Christ’s followers, who were eventually called Christians, had opted out of a social welfare system that had snared the people under the authority of Herod’s welfare state.6 Christians had another king, one Jesus, and were standing fast in the liberty of Christ. The persecution of Christians by public magistrates was often based on their refusal to participate in the temple welfare systems of Rome.

The word translated marvelled in Acts is “thaumazo” which is also translated in the Bible as “have in admiration” and “admire.” They were impressed and yet they did not like what they were hearing. Many modern Christians would not want to hear the truth of what the early church was doing either.
