Parents Get Censored & Shushed Like Children at Meeting on Censorship

Have you bitten your fingernails today? Hopefully, you have saved room for when you watch this. If you’re a reasonable parent with a student in the public school system and notice a blatant violation – unfortunately this absurd behavior is something you might encounter from the district school board. That is, if they are intertwined with an agenda.

Michael Krieger of Liberty Blitzkreig reported the background on the Naples, Florida incident.

In order to give you some background on the issue, see the Letter to the Editor he wrote to the Naples Daily News on 1/28 to say what he was prevented from saying at the 1/20 School Board Workshop…
A quick synopsis of the letter involves parents who wished to speak out about premature curriculum approval that involved blatant historical fallacies (that you would probably detect immediately as propaganda) in text books. Seriously, that’s it. They wanted to point out the problems. For getting involved and wanting to rationally discuss the textbook problems (like the history book claiming the government can informally change the Constitution or the elimination of the U.S. on a world map) they were allegedly called “Nazi book burners” and “narrow-minded, racist Bible-thumpers.”

A recap of how the actual January Collier County School Board Workshop went in the video, shows that the parents never made it that far. They weren’t allowed to direct any comments to “approvers” or anyone involved or anyone who was using authority to silence the parents. This extended to absurd levels when it turned out that parents would be “shushed” like children for using any pronouns at all or referring to any human beings – as opposed to generalized, vague, watered-down topics. This wasn’t just a matter of keeping the peace – this was censorship via the same maturity of a schoolyard bully taunting “quit hittin’ yourself! quit hittin’ yourself!”

Also note the psychological effect of the parents having to look up to the chairwoman to make their statements….

Muslim Victory: Writing about Pork Now Forbidden at Oxford

It wasn’t long ago where it was reported KFC had to remove alcohol cleansing moist towelettes from their stores because it was against the traditions of Islam to consume alcohol.

The KFC in question was in the UK, and it’s out of that same country where another demonstrably idiotic policy is taking effect.

Oxford University Press has forbidden their writers to mention pork in any of their writings so as to not offend Muslims.

That’s right, kiss the word bacon goodbye if you want one of your books published by the world’s largest university press….

According to the International Business Times, writers can’t mention pigs, or “anything else which could be perceived as pork.” So that means the Oxford University Press won’t be able to talk about bacon, pork loins, pork tenderloins, pork chops, pork belly, ham, or anything else that comes from pigs.

The reason they have come to this decision is because they want their books to be available to the largest general audience as possible. So that means if they need to get rid of the mention of pork, then so be it….

Schools Don’t Teach Kids to Read

A high school English teacher at Rosemount High School in Minnesota, which was called a “top ranked school” by the Minnesota Department of Education, given the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award by the U.S. Department of Education, and named a top school in the nation for 2014 by Newsweek Magazine, just wrote a shocking letter alerting parents and the public that her high school juniors can’t read. Her letter published by the Minnesota Star Tribune on December 4 was eloquent, so I quote it verbatim.

Can’t Read“We are in the midst of one of the greatest literacy crises ever encountered, and we are fighting an uphill battle. Every day I experience firsthand what it means to be illiterate in a high school classroom. Average students with average abilities can fervently text away, but they cannot read.”

She said some of her students just sleep away an assigned unit. Others resort to depression or aggression. She gave them a not very difficult test, but they couldn’t read the test.

When she assigns her students a book to read, they often don’t even try to read it. Ask them why, they say “It’s boring.” She wrote that this translates into “It’s too hard to read.” The teacher appeals to parents and the public, saying, “I need your help.”

Don’t count on the shift to Common Core to teach school kids to read. Common Core will change the assigned stories and books, but it won’t change the fact that elementary school kids are only taught how to memorize a few dozen “sight,” mostly one-syllable, words, but not taught phonics so they can sound out the syllables and then read the bigger words in high school and college assignments.

Students are not assigned or motivated to read whole books. In the name of “close reading,” they are given short so-called “informational” excerpts to read over and over in class, almost until they are memorized. You don’t find the students going to the library to take out and read the classics, and students don’t acquire the vocabulary necessary to do college work.

Limited reading skill means that what the students read is tightly controlled. Common Core has rewritten the history of America’s founding to present James Madison, Thomas Jefferson and other Founders to fit the leftwing narrative of gender, race, class, and ethnicity, and students have neither motivation nor skill to seek out the true history of the Founders.

Common Core does, however, find space for stories that many parents find morally objectionable such as “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison.

Know Jesus or No Jesus? The Coming Persecution of Christians

By Dave Hodges – DCClothesline.com –

There is a war going on against Christians. For a long time the war has been covert and centered around issues such as nativity scenes at Christmas. More recently, the satanic influence which is beginning to dominate American public lives is becoming demonstrably open and aggressive and this spirit has invaded the sports world where so many young people look for role models…

We are witnessing the persecution of Christians through the principle of incrementalism. Hitler did the same. First, there was the public chastising of the Jews. Then they were denied employment and the right to publicly practice their religion. The worst began to happen.

Today in the United States, the abolishment of Christianity is underway. Through the DHS sponsored Clergy Response Team and making churches into IRS controlled tax exempt foundations, the message from the pulpit is being controlled. Now we are witnessing the marginalizing of Christians and the removal Christian practices from all public venues. Christian traditions are being erased. A famous quote was offered which helps frame these current events of persecution against Christians “wherever they burn books, in the end, they will burn human beings”. I would offer a variation of this theme, “where they erase religion, they will soon do the same to the followers of that religion”.

Any first year law school student will tell you that the 10 Commandments are the basis for our legal code. This is all about to change as well.
