Editor’s note: The police state is now getting serious in England. The British government pioneered the use of plastic bullets in occupied Northern Ireland where it was discovered they were lethal at certain ranges. Plastic bullets were used against protestors at a protest against globalization in Quebec in 2001 and were approved for policing in England and Wales in June 2001. Plastic bullets were also authorized for G8 summit protests in Gleneagles, Scotland in July 2005. The projectiles are now becoming the favored way to deal with people who dare oppose the establishment in public.
Police are prepared to use plastic bullets for the first time on the British mainland if student protests planned for tomorrow erupt into violence.
Scotland Yard revealed yesterday that the baton rounds have been authorised for a student fees march in London amid fears it could be hijacked by anarchists and troublemakers.
Baton gun rounds have never been used on the British mainland, but they have been linked to deaths in Northern Ireland.

The European Commission has adopted a Communication which sets out the main options for using new technologies, such as biometrics, to simplify life for foreigners frequently travelling to the EU and to better monitor third-country nationals crossing the borders.
Enabling smooth and fast border crossing for travellers, while ensuring an adequate level of security, is a challenge for many Member States. Every year more than 700 million EU citizens and third country nationals cross the EU’s external borders. This number is expected to rise significantly in the future. By 2030 the number of people at European airports could increase by 80%, which will result in longer delays and queues for travellers if border checking procedures are not modernised in time.
“The Union must continue to modernise the management of its external borders and ensure that the Schengen area is better equipped to cope with future challenges”, said Cecilia Malmström, Commissioner for Home Affairs. “The ‘Smart Borders’ initiative would speed up border crossing for regular travellers but could also help us to better secure our external borders. We now need to make sure that the most efficient systems are in place and I am looking forward to discussing the available options with the European Parliament, the Council and the European Data Protection Supervisor”.
A gun collector who was arrested outside his east-end apartment during a midnight raid has launched a $6.5-million lawsuit against the Toronto police, his former landlords and a tipster.
Peter Sedge, 59, said he was removed from his Beaches home at gunpoint wearing only his underwear during the May, 2008, seizure of about 120 legally collected firearms.
“I was scared because as soon as I opened the door, they were all screaming at me,” he told The Globe and Mail. “I could see guns pointed at me. . . . I totally scrambled at this point.”
The raid came hours after police got a tip about a cache of firearms and ammunition from a man who had viewed the property with his father – a prospective buyer – and Mr. Sedge’s landlord, Court documents say.
Anders Behring Breivik’s attorney said on Friday that the killer called the police from Utøya island at least ten times before he was arrested.
Geir Lippestad said his client reached the police twice. He identified himself by name and said he wanted to surrender.
Accounts of the rampage note Breivik paused before resuming the shooting. He ultimately killed 69 people at the Labor Party summer camp.
Lippestad said Breivik considered “taking his life or continuing with what he called his operation, and decided to continue until police arrived.”
Survivors and relatives of the victims have criticized police for their lackadaisical response to the rampage.
After Darcus Howe portrayed the riots in Britain – and around the world – as an “insurrection,” the BBC presenter interviewing him tried to dismiss him as a “rioter.”

Howe, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, is a former broadcaster and journalist. He was a member of the British Black Panther movement and was arrested and tried for rioting in 1970. He was acquitted of all charges. In 1981 he organized the 20,000 strong Black People’s March in response to the New Cross Fire that killed 13 young black people during a birthday party. Howe and the community were outraged by the indifferent response by the police.
The corporate media has concentrated on the criminal aspect of the British riots and all but ignored the social and political dimension of the unrest. Participants are mindlessly characterized as “yobs,” a term invented by the British upper class in the 18th century to describe poor youth (the word is “boy” backwards).
For months now the Libyan rebels have been infighting and progressively moving toward total discontinuity. Like I have been saying since the beginning, this was never as cut-and-dry as the mainstream media made it out to be.
The notion that an unelected body who declares itself the sole legitimate representation for an entire nation could be remotely legitimate is laughable at best.
The fact is, the Libyan people never voted for these rebels and many do not support them. If the people of Libya were actually behind these self-declared rulers, how could they assemble such a massive pro-Gaddafi demonstration in the Libyan capital of Tripoli?
To put it in perspective, what if during a period of intense civil unrest in the United States a group of a few elites declared themselves the sole representatives of our entire nation?
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stephen Kavanagh said today the police will use baton rounds and plastic bullets if the vandalism in Britain continues. “Through the night the Commissioner did absolutely consider that as one of the tactics available to use, a tactic used if deemed necessary,” he said.

The use of plastic bullets is usually considered one step below the introduction of live ammo.
The British pioneered the use of plastic bullets. They were beta tested in Northern Ireland where it was discovered they were lethal at close range. British security forces using the “non-lethal” projectiles killed fourteen people, including nine children. The extensive use of plastic bullets led to Emma Groves founding the United Campaign Against Plastic Bullets.
The entire police force of Ascension, Mexico has resigned after several deadly attacks on the department’s officers in recent months.
The Associated Press says state and federal police have taken over for the 20 officers who quit this week in the small northern Mexico town.
Ascension is in Chihuahua state, where Mexico’s violent border town of Ciudad Juarez is located.
More than 40 thousand people have been killed in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon deployed thousands of soldiers to crack down on drug cartels in 2006.
A British police intelligence analyst who was asked to create a strategic assessment concerning terror threats was fired when he told his superiors that the threat of an “internal tyranny” was far greater than that of Islamic terrorism, after discovering that both 7/7 and 9/11 were false flag attacks.
Tony Farrell, who has a university degree in statistics, was employed for 12 years as a ‘Police Intelligence Analyst’ with South Yorkshire Police. His job was to provide a yearly ‘Strategic Threat Assessment Matrix’ to enable police to prioritize resources and activities. Fully expecting Farrell to regurgitate the contention that Muslim extremists posed the biggest threat, his bosses were stunned when Farrell instead reported that the 2005 London bombings were staged by British intelligence and that the official story was a “monstrous lie”.
During an hour-long interview with Richard D. Hall which was broadcast nationwide on UK television last week, Farrell revealed how one week before the 5th anniversary of 7/7 in 2010, he began researching information suggesting that the official story behind 9/11 was a total fabrication. Farrell cites the Alex Jones Show as being instrumental in his awakening to this knowledge.
After sharing his concerns with the resident police church minister, it was suggested to Farrell that he also investigate the July 2005 London bombings.
Anti-austerity protests turned violent in Athens on Tuesday as the European Union warned Greek lawmakers the country faces immediate default unless they back an unpopular economic plan this week.

Hooded youths throwing stones and wielding sticks set fire to garbage bins and a telecoms truck outside parliament and riot police fired teargas to disperse them. Trade unions began a 48-hour strike against the EU/IMF-imposed measures.
Progress was meanwhile reported in talks to persuade European banks and insurers to voluntarily roll over maturing Greek debt as part of a planned second rescue package designed to give the euro zone country a breathing space.
