SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – Flu season is here. Many people are already getting vaccinated, but surprisingly many health care workers do not. That is changing at one east valley hospital.

The first thing you see when you walk in the front door of banner ironwood hospital is a sanitizer.

“We are exposed all the time,” says Dr. Mike O’Conner.

Alcohol based sanitizers help during flu season for patients and doctors, but this hospital is going the extra mile, requiring staff, doctors, and even volunteers to get the flu vaccine.
